1 night at Sticky Wicket Farms

Camping here was really amazing in so many ways… but mostly because we really felt welcome. The host was prompt with communication, clear with instruction, and attentive to our comfort. We also loved the scenery during our drive, the view from our campsite, and the *Incredible* quiche. Highly recommend!!!!

We stayed 2 nights at the farm in our class B. Toured distilleries all around the area and loved coming back to this beautiful setting. Gravel pad is level, it’s easy in and out and amenities are as advertised. Host checked on us during bad weather. Hospitality is exceptional - Will def return!

1 night at Red Haven Farm Rustic Camping

We only had the pleasure of staying here, but boy do we wish we would’ve had time to stay longer. These sites have a lot of room to spread out or for multiple vehicles. Beautiful creek and maintained property. The sites have a a picnic table, swing and complimentary firewood for use. Will definitely return when back in the area.

We had a wonderful weekend camping with our new travel trailer. The site was beautiful and flat gravel made leveling easy and quick. The property was park like and we were graced every day with gorgeous sunsets and sunrises. We did have to make a WalMart run and it was very convenient easy trip. Highly recommend this site!!

Beautiful property with several spots. We chose to tent camp with electricity in order to work during Friday day and was placed near the stage. We had a wide open space with nice views of the farm. We enjoyed walking the trails. Next time, we will try primitive camping at one of the more private and shady sites. There were a few other campers there which was nice to chat. We were offered the use of the bathroom at the house which worked well for us. Overall, a great stay.

We enjoyed a wonderful weekend of camping at the farm. The owners were super helpful and kind. It was nice to be able to let our dogs off leash to play catch and to explore a little bit.

What an amazing location and beautiful spot. Quiet, private, amongst the Kentucky horses and bluegrass fields. Close to several distilleries and small towns on the Bourbon Trail.

Kristal’s space was perfect for me! I booked last minute as I was passing through. She was very accommodating and helpful. Her property is beautiful and offers plenty to see for nature lovers. I would definitely recommend!

Great spot! The owners are local and have put together a wonderful spot. I give them 10 out of 10. The owners were very nice! They have all the hookups and beautiful views. In the summer the fireflies are a plenty.

Well not what expected. The power did not work so had to move after connecting trailer. Still had issues with all the main breakers being off. Was told the area was recently flooded and it was very muddy. They use the very large crushed concrete for the truck and trailer which was a definite ankle twister. The only area rocked was where you parked so the rest of the time you were in mud. The place had abandoned stuff around the property. Random paddle boats and there was an old RV awning laying by the spot I stayed. It was fine for a place to stop but not worth what is charged. Sorry but seems like little maintenance is done around the area.

Great place to stay. Having a covered place to park your RV made everything so much easier. The area around the site is absolutely beautiful.

Friendly people, level site, cut firewood for everyone (downed trees from storms this past winter). Power and water hookups worked as expected. All sites are out in the open so it will be warm during the summer, but it is only 50 yards to the river.

Weekend Trip to Savvy Retreat

We had a wonderful experience and a much needed peaceful getaway! Our hosts thought of everything and were very attentive. We had the best of both worlds with access to WiFi, electric, water and the experience of being deep in the woods and immersed in nature. We are looking forward to another trip in the fall when the leaves change. I highly recommend this private campsite for anyone seeking a peaceful retreat!

Kristal was an amazing host, especially for us being first time hip campers. This place offered a peaceful getaway. that was also close to Beautiful Bardstown. The amenities were everything we needed and even though we had a shower, we took full advantage to the outdoor shower on the property.

I've stayed at other hip camps and simply decided that I would love to share my little slice of heaven with others passing through my area. Notes: there is a wee bit of road noise, I live on a dead end road, there are 10 acres between my 5 acres and the Blue Grass Parkway. I find it peaceful here and can easily ignore it but I'm mentioning it so your not surprised by it ;) The Neighbor dog (Roxy) is very friendly and might visit you while you are here :) You are welcome to hang a hammock in a small section of woods, by a small pond, or even on my covered porch. You are welcome to pitch a tent anywhere you like. You are welcome to park an RV or vehicle in the drive. The drive is about 250ft long, you would need to back in in order to hook up to the 30 or 50 amp plug. RV's can use the 30 or 50 amp plug (30 amp will need an adapter. I have one you can use if you don't own one of your own) and hose for water. I have an outdoor shower and a camping toilet. I am ... - one hour from Lexington, Louisville, Elizabethtown, and Frankfort.- 1 mile from a mini mart with Gas, Ice, Pizza, Chicken Wings, Sandwiches, ect.- 6 miles from Dollar General and A pizza Restaurant - 15 ish miles from Wal-mart and other chain stores and restaurants I'm a great travel guide so feel free to tell me what your in town for or things you like to do. I will happily make you up a list of things to do and see and places to eat. Keenland, Churchill Downs, The Bourbon Tour (Jim Beam, Makers Mark, Heaven Hill, and many others) are within an hour of here. Also within an hour are 2 great bike paths, wonderful hiking and kayaking. As well as Great Shopping and Restaurants. Anything your heart desires.

Pine horse farm

A working horse farm with some wooded areas and lots of spots to pitch a tent or hammock. We have a friendly dog, and horses! We are on 20 acres. We are constantly improving our land. Close to Abraham Lincoln’s birthplace , Mcdougal Lake and the main square in Hodgenville which has cute little restaurants and places to walk During summer there are lots of wild blackberries to pick on the perimeter of the pasture (this is usually June-July only). We are bordered on woods so camping can be done in the trees as well or in our nice open area right as soon as you come up the drive. Outside our barn/house we have water and electric outlets as needed. In the open area or the woods there are several trees that can be used for a hammock as well. We do have a large fire pit and a ton of wood fires can be started as long as we are not under a burn ban if we are having a dry summer or fall. If you're on the bike trail, come inside and take a shower in our simple country home. We will have amenities for you and every day someone will be home from 9am-noon, and 6pm-9pm with more hours open on the weekend. If you let us know we can work around what time you will be arriving.
