We recently moved from the next county over and are enjoying making this place ours and improvements for guests. Property is 15 minutes south of Cincinnati, close to the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport (CVG), close to restaurants and attractions such as Kings Island (approximately 1 hour), Creation Museum (approximately 25 minutes) and The Ark (approximately 25 minutes). Also nearby are several state parks and local favorites such as Big Bone State park, Rabbit Hash,and Riverbend.
We have 2 dogs who walk with us on leash and recently added chickens and goats! Elmer and Clyde do like to wander and explore. They are very friendly.

Gravel driveway leads up to both spots. We do try to keep it maintained, but frequently rain causes ruts faster than we can fill. It should not impede drivability, but use caution and feel free to ask if you have any concerns. #1 improvement planned is paving driveway. You may also experience some vehicle noise from roadway. Typically, as we are on a back road, it is fairly quiet but some drivers may be louder than others and some evenings see more traffic.
Level gravel area for RV parking, second plateau available for multiple tent sites. Campfires in designated area.
Deer, wild turkeys, opossums and raccoons are plentiful and often wander through. Less common are foxes and bald eagles that make their home at Doe Run Lake nearby.
Main home on property but only close enough for assistance, not interference.

The cottage was cozy and just right for us, and the outdoor seating area by the fire pit was so peaceful and relaxing! Our hosts were incredibly kind and helpful, and their chicken eggs were AMAZING! Seriously, don’t miss out on those! I also really appreciated that they offer firewood bundles for such an affordable price. Two of us stayed in the Cottage. The cottage was really nicely decorated and spacious. It had a lot of windows for views with thick curtains for night. There is a full size stove and literally 28 outlets. The greenhouse shower was nice and the water got hot quickly even though it was only 39°F outside. The toilet is an outhouse vault toilet like a porta potty but it does have an electric light and lots of tp. The hosts were helpful and chill. We mostly were there to visit the mounds and caves so we didn't explore much of the property but I think you could have a nice weekend just hanging around the farm. It was also a very reasonable price and close to what we wanted to see. I would definitely recommend it

Weekend Trip to The Honey Hut
This was a very cute and cozy cabin on a private lot. Its has a great dock to sit, drink coffee, and read a book. The fire pit has a grate which was very convenient. The porch was idyllic and probably my favorite spot on the property. There were lots of birds and butterflies to watch. We had a great time.

Amazing! Basil was super informative and up-front with all needed info. We arrived after dark - Basil simply popped out from next door, checked if we were okay, and left us be. I really appreciated the later check-out - gave us time to use the hot tub in the AM. And of course, that outdoor shower - GREAT!

Weekend Trip to Trace Space KY
We had a great experience. This trip was about introducing a friends 9yo to hiking and camping. MJ and Alex have a wonderful spot. Thank you both. The late summer wildflower garden and pollinators were great to show the 9yo how to observe bugs safely. I will recommend this place to others who travel to the Cave Run Lake and Red River Gorge area.

This cabin and property is absolutely beautiful 😍. So peaceful and serene and QUIET! Hosts thought of absolutely everything. Early morning canoeing and being right up in the face of nature was so incredible. That upper back porch was everything! Spent so much time there just listening to nature sounds and watching the hummingbirds. Hosts were very kind and attentive when needed. Can't wait to come back!

Being near the water is lovely, especially at twilight. You can see lots of critters, especially birds: herons, hummingbirds, buntings, etc. The amenities were really nice. A pretty luxurious getaway!

Staying at Rebecca's cabin was wonderful! It was clean, cute, and comfortable. Our host was also very communicative; especially after a WILD storm rolled through. She checked in with us to make sure we were okay. She also offered us some wonderful squash from her garden that was delicious! The views were spectacular and perfect for watching storms and sunsets. That is a great stay!

Weekend Trip to Three Springs Campground RV Park
I loved camping at the cabin. It had a nice theme and the beds were comfortable. The trails around are pretty nice too and it's located near the Creation Museum. I would probably put the A/C unit at the top of the ladder since it was too hot to sleep up there at night.

Nice quiet property with nice lake/pond.
Getting to Daniel Boone National Forest was easy and the town of Mt. Sterling, and its history, is worth going to the Honey Hut in and of itself.
Scott was very awesome. I mixed up my reservation dates and Scott worked it out the day of and really helped out. I would definitely recommend this property.

Super happy to have found this sweet little spot ...even though it's in a residential area with neighbors around, there's a sense of privacy thanks to the fence that goes around part of the cabin site. I was never bothered by anyone in the area and was left to enjoy the site in peace. I'm a solo female traveler and felt very safe in the space. Recommended for single travelers or couples who want to get close and cozy. It's far enough from main roads that I wasn't bothered by traffic noise.
For someone who usually primitive camps to save money on travel, the site is an incredible value with the included convenience of a protective roof over your head, a clean porta potty only several steps away, and parking right next to the site. Packing in and out has never gone so easily and quickly for me as it did here. And whenever you need something or have a question, MJ is so quick to respond and helpful in every way!
Things to know before you go: Cell service is a little spotty at the site (I have TMobile). The cabin's wifi helps get your directions downloaded when you want to go places. You have to drive about 20 minutes for gas and ice, and about 30 minutes for restaurants as close as Morehead. If you go there, visit the Fuzzy Duck for coffee/tea and Coffee Tree Books, great local shops all in the same building.
Lovely birds in the area and spectacular summer night lightning bug shows. The gooseberries in the garden were a special treat.
I can't wait to book again!

Weekend Trip to Trace Space KY
We loved our stay at Trace Space! It truly is a unique place. The A-frame is spacious, comfortable, and really has everything you need. The whole site site is adorned with thoughtful personal touches and makes for magical stay. Theres the pollinator friendly garden, fire pit sitting area, handpainted picinc table, firefly light show, handcrafted artwork, starry night, and so much more. The A-frame frame opens up and and creates a nice little veranda feel. Mother nature decided to hit us with 90+ temps but it never felt like that there. It's a 5 star setup.
The hosts were absolutely amazing. I let them know I was traveling with my daughter see the area and they went above and beyond. They knew all the spots and events going on. They made some special arrangements for her visit that made it truly memorable. She checked off a couple bucket list items! They were super helpful and absolutely wonderful. 10/10!
There are so many things to do within an hour or less: Red River Gorge, Daniel Boone National Forest, Carter Caves, Natural Bridge, Cave Run... We didn't even scratch the surface. That said, I'd have been just as happy in the cabin reading or drawing the weekend away.
So grateful to have found and be hosted by Trace Space. We'll be back for sure!
