The space Creekdance is located on 20 acres of prime Kentucky vegetation in the hills of Kentucky. Dry Fork Creek runs adjacent to the entire property. While it is not deep enough to kayak, it is certainly fun to dip your toes in and walk through the ever-flowing water. Several walking paths and bird boxes can be found throughout the property. It is a great place to write, paint, read, do yoga or just rejuvenate and "get right" with nature. Get the best sleep of your life on a Nectar mattress with the sounds of the creek drifting through the window. NEW this year - 125-yard golf driving range available. Golf balls provided. Bring your clubs! Guest access Guests have a private cabin all to themselves. They may feel free to wander around the property, venture onto the walking paths, walk in the creek, etc. The only space that is off limits is my cabin down the creek. I have a very friendly dog of my own on the property who free-roams. Also, if guests leave their pets in the cabin while they are gone, the pets must be crated. Inside the cabin, the bathroom is equipped with an Incinolet toilet. I find that it is quite efficient if used properly. Instructions will be given upon arrival and are included on the wall in the bathroom. We can only accommodate TWO guests at a time in the cabin due to the Incinolet's capability.

Please consider, Clayton Geneva is a primitive campground, gravel drives and left as natural as possible. This is not a sculpted campsite or a concrete campground. The primitive area is as such, gravel, grass, sand terrain accessible by a one lane gravel drive that leads over the hill and around the cliff to the riverbank. This drive is absolutely passable however is left bumpy to keep traffic at a safe speed as pedestrians also walk the drive. It is passable by any vehicle as long as the vehicle is not overloaded beyond its ability and/or has an extremely low profile. Any area that is not an actual campsite is left to nature, not manicured, trimmed or sculpted. As you’ll find all the sites are clear please don’t expect micromanaging of wild growth of our native plants in areas around the sites as we reserve those areas for the wildlife to enjoy. Please consider all the above mentioned details, primitive campsites are not for everyone and that’s ok.

2 nights at The Harrican Lakehouse

This cabin won me over the moment I walked in. It was warm, cozy, and the loft was surprisingly spacious. The porch is the real showstopper, and even though it was too cold to sit out for long, the views from every window were gorgeous. It even started snowing while we were there, which added this wild, magical atmosphere to the whole stay. The only downsides were the not-so-comfy seating, the heat being a little too powerful overnight, and the outhouse being a long chilly walk with a very rustic setup. None of it ruined the experience, but it is worth knowing before you go. Leslie loved the lake and all the open space to explore. I even had to hop in a kayak to fetch her ball when she refused to wade into the cold water, which felt like peak dog mom adventure energy. Slippers were clutch since the floors get cold and they were perfect for padding out onto the porch. The best moment was watching the sunrise roll in over the misty lake. Quiet, spooky, peaceful, and absolutely beautiful. I would stay again without hesitation.

My parents, myself and two dogs had an awesome weekend at the Harrican Lakehouse. It was super quiet, restful and exactly as marketed. It was chilly at night and we all stayed super cozy in the house and by the fire. The only thing I would recommend to future guests is to bring your own pillow and coffee pot if you and your guests drink multiple cups. The one provided is just a little small.

1 night at The Harrican Lakehouse

I stayed at this lake house on a road trip around Kentucky while visiting from Oregon. The location is very remote and private and the hosts were great! I even ended up adopting a puppy from them lol The lake is gorgeous especially at sunrise and sunset. There’s chairs on the wrap around deck, multiple kayaks, a fire pit (bring wood), and a dock. The lake house provides you with hand soap, towels, bedding. The kitchen has utensils/plates/bowls/pots/pans, a radio, a fridge/freezer, stove/oven, and sink. Bring your own dish soap and paper towels if needed. We spent the day fishing on the lake and doing a puzzle inside. I’d bring extra blankets if you are visiting in the fall as it gets chilly. Overall, a wonderful stay and I’d definitely visit again if I’m back in Kentucky!

Nice little place on a pond. Morning coffee with the sunrise on the porch. Evening sunset with the campfire. Woods for hiking and fields for walking. My dogs have decided that they love fishing and require a pond at our house now. The place looks well cared for and the host was friendly and quick to reply to any questions. I would definitely book again/recommend this place.

Great host and great cabin with everything you need to enjoy your stay, so much things to do around the area and a lake with a beautiful view just a super short walk from the cabin.
