Suzan was great to work with, and the site was well-kept. We enjoyed a beautiful evening and morning by the water. Just a suggestion to other campers. Noise really carries by the water so running your generator all night is really disrespectful.

I just spent the weekend at Neverland Barnyard, and I can honestly say it was more than just a place to camp—it was a soul-filling experience. From the moment I arrived, Bob, Xene, and Lindsay welcomed me in like I was family. Their kindness, generosity, and warmth made me feel instantly at home, and that kind of genuine hospitality is rare and deeply appreciated. The property itself is nothing short of magical—wide open skies, peaceful spaces, and a feeling that you're somewhere truly special. The art on the property is nothing short of amazing. The solar shower felt great on a hot day! If you’re looking for a getaway that not only gives you beauty and quiet, but also reminds you that good people still exist in this world—this is your spot. I left feeling a little lighter, a little happier, and a whole lot more grateful. I can’t wait to return.

This is absolutely our favorite place to stay on our drive across the country. There is truly something magical and nourishing about the land and the curating they have done to the farm. We always wish we could stay longer.

So peaceful. We felt very welcome on this beautiful land. Easy access to water for washing dishes, wonderfully refreshing outdoor shower, choice of many unique sites to set up our tent. Plenty of firewood. Inspiring surroundings and open-hearted hosts. We kayaked the Wapsipinicon river from Monticello to Pictured Rock and also explored Horse Thief cave at the state park. We will be back!

Beautiful location, extremely friendly and accommodating host. We stayed the large cabin which had a bathroom and kitchenette. The was also a larger shared kitchen area we used and lounged in. Everyone was comfortable and rested when we left

We absolutely loved our stay at N*Everland Barnyard! Bob and Xene were wonderful hosts and very friendly. We were lucky enough to be their for one of their events and my girls had a great time. The place was very peaceful and thought provoking with all the cool art structures. You can tell they put in a lot of love and hardwork on this place. I would definitely recommend it and my daughter's are asking when can we go back!

I highly suggest booking ahead of time so the check in process goes smoothly. But overall the campground was nice quality, quiet, and had a lot of kid activity options like playgrounds and play structures. We stayed in the cabins, but the tv spaces were nice and spaced out and saw lots of land for camping. The staff was helpful in ensuring the guest experience went well.

The farm is a beautiful place to visit. I love the mix of camping types, allowing use both tent and cabins. The conservation areas are beautiful and Anna is a wonderful host. The Farm tour is definitely worth the price as an add on!

My friends and I loved this site, there was a path down to the water and it was beautiful at sunset. The hosts were so sweet and I loved meeting their dogs! They also brought us mulberries in the morning which were delicious! We could see the other site from our spot but it was far enough away for sound not to carry. This was a lovely and peaceful stay and I will definitely be back with my dog!

2 nights at Draco Hill Nature Farm

I found another gem of a HipCamp campground. Only 30 miles away but a fantastic stay. My dog, Jessie, and I spent two days at the Trees and Terrace site which is super private. A clean outhouse was a short walk away. A lovely prairie to wander around and a wonderful river flowing past make this place magical. Best firewood I’ve ever found waiting for us. I’ll be back to do some paddling with some other friends who are paddlers too.

I booked last minute for my kid and his friends, on a cross country road trip and in need of a place for the night. Bob was responsive and accommodating, giving me great info for their late arrival and letting them sleep in and stick around the next day. I heard the hosts were ‘so nice’ the place was ‘so cool’ and that fun conversations were had. It was great to know the kids were in a good spot for the night, so thank you!

Anamosa offers several restaurants, grocery stores and other businesses all within walking distance and less than a mile from our land. We spray chemicals as little as possible for your safety and the benefit of the environment. The trade off is wearing long pants in the woods and being vigilant around your campsite. We use TecNu - a product we scrub on and wash off if we get into poison ivy by mistake and it has kept us from any major outbreaks.
