Weekend Trip to Apple acres

My family had a wonderful time while visiting Apple Acres. It is close to town for shopping but far out enough that you can sit outside to enjoy nature without hearing the typical city noise. The site is well maintained, beautiful, peaceful, and quiet. For my family it has the perfect mix of rustic living with modern conveniences. The whole family including our furbabies felt welcome and would love to visit again.

My daughter wanted to celebrate her birthday with friends at this site. The camping site for tents was great. The kids enjoyed the farm tour and being able to do chores with Jennifer and Forrest who are so friendly and patient.

We loved camping at apple acres. We were the only campsite on the farm. it was very peaceful, and comfortable. The site had a lovely ambiance. The adarandack chairs, the hanging hammock chairs, the lighting... everything has the touch of a host who is passionate about the experience of their guests. My kids enjoyed the pond and paddle boat. I enjoyed the trails and the historical of the apple trees.

I had a great experience car camping on Dave’s property! It was peaceful and quiet, easy to find, and the portable toilet and water station were a great plus! The tent sites look cute and well laid out, I will definitely be returning to try them out!

We have stayed several times and this stay did not disappoint. It's clean, quiet, we feel very safe and the owners are great. Dave's location is easy to get to and close enough for easy on and off the highway. The view is great wide open fields and woods to enjoy. The horses, farm animals and flowers are very easy to enjoy. We will go back each time we are in the area. We give them a 10++ and would recommend to anyone that is in the area and looking for a nice place to stay, one night or several nights. Thank you again for a nice stay!!!

Weekend Trip to Apple acres

We loved camping at Apple Acres! The reviews here saying that it was better than expected are absolutely correct. The carport was excellent for our little pop up (no need to bring our additional canopy) and we loved the hammock chairs and firepit. The sink area and porta-potty nearby were helpful (the flush toilets aren't too far, but it's nice to have a closer option at night). Improvements had been made even since some of the photos, including a firewood shelter. (NOTE: Don't sleep on the firewood across the road! You get a LOT for $10 and it's the best firewood we have used!) Starter wood and newspaper was even ready to go in the firepit before we got there. Jonathan and his family were very welcoming and helpful - even when our electric went out at almost Midnight and we had to wake him! Jonathan graciously came out and replaced the outlet entirely so that we could sleep warm (and so my husband could use his cpap!). Our kids enjoyed the dirt bike track even without bikes - especially our 5yo, who just loved playing in the dirt - and we liked the walking trails back in the forest, and the small pond and ducks. The only possible thing that could make this site better would be a shower, but we brought our own camp shower and it worked fine (on sunny days). We'll be back for sure!

We really enjoyed the peaceful evenings listening to the frogs and sitting by the fire. We also loved talking with Tracy about her farm and her animals.

We had a wonderful time at this site. The site was well cared for and the owners were very responsive. Highly recommended. The Upper Vista site was great. The soil is kinda rocky, so be a little patient trying to stake your tent. Having a mallet definitely helped. We will definitely be back!

We had such a great time at Abby’s campsite! She went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable, even providing firewood and water, which made things super easy and convenient. The property had a peaceful vibe, and a bunch of friendly dogs came up to say hello — they were all so sweet and well-behaved, it really added to the charm of the place. You can tell Abby puts thought and care into hosting. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a relaxing, pet-friendly spot to unwind!

My daughter and I camped at Tracy’s farm on our way back from touring the SouthWest, and we both loved it. The farm is beautiful and serene. Tracy was the most welcoming and generous host and introduced us to all the unique species of animals she cares for. It was wild to meet Alpacas up close! I would recommend camping here to everyone!

We really enjoyed camping with our teardrop in a secluded site. Hosts were very responsive, friendly and we loved the fresh eggs. Great location - we recommend going to the Bloomington farmers market on Sat mornings, McCormick state park and the brewpub (Civilian Brewing) in nearby Spencer IN.

The farm adjoins the 75 acre Stranger Hills Organic farm, the oldest organic farm in Indiana. Our 1899 Farmhouse is the only residence on the entire farm. There is a 3000 acre farm to our south. The area is quiet and very private. The campsites are in a grassy walnut grove by a small creek that runs along the eastern border of the property. We have a white deer creek cabin tent on a platform there and 3 or 4 nice level campsites to the north. There is a shaded RV site at the top of a small hill with 30 amp service. We can accommodate a large RV on packed gravel with 50 amp service. the farm is located 15 minutes east of McCormicks Creek State Park. Large secluded cove near our barn and garden. Watch the sun come up from the orchard. There is 1 electrical plug so not all 3 spaces have electric but you can run a cord. There is also a single water spigot to share as well. There are 2 houses somewhat visible through the trees but no direct line of sight and otherwise private. We have 2 dogs, Whiskey and Barb, Whiskey will usually keep her space but bark, if you ignore her she will be friendly, acts mean but never bites. Barbara is a Jack Russell. She will jump in the truck if you don't tell her not to and will happily run off with snacks. We ask you please don't feed them as it will teach them to come for food and some people don't appreciate the dogs.. This is a farm so you may see and smell animals. Depending on when you book you may even be somewhat near animals. Be aware of this and be ready to keep dogs contained. We typically run pigs in the woods around the cove but we move them regularly and keep the smell to a minimum by doing so.
