2 nights at Happy Hollow Homestead

I stayed in the A-frame with my dog for 2 nights. The A-frame is better than camping on the ground as it has a queen sized mattress inside; however, there's no door on the A-frame yet so I got a little wet when it rained and the shower near our campsite was not working. Kerry offered the other site to me, which was 10 bucks cheaper, but I really liked the location of the A-frame. In hindsight, I think we would have been better off at the other site that has a door and is closer to the working shower. Kerry is a friendly host who works hard to maintain the land and live sustainably. He recommended a gorgeous hike to Hemlock Cliffs, which was really the highlight of our stay. I loved being close to nature for a few days to defrag my brain.

Weekend Trip to Hones Pointe Campground

If you're looking for a hidden gem in Kentucky, this campground is it! Nestled along the serene banks of the Little Kentucky River, the views are absolutely breathtaking — the kind that make you want to just sit quietly and soak it all in. The river winds gently past the campground, perfect for fishing, swimming, and kayaking. We spent a couple hours exploring the shore. The land itself is beautifully cared for, with open fields that stretch into shady patches of old trees, and a few small trails that invite you to wander. Everything feels thoughtfully maintained — you can tell love and pride go into keeping this place beautiful. We had a fantastic fire under the stars, with plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the night air. A highlight was definitely the petting zoo, where we got to meet some adorable goats and miniature horses. Scattered around the grounds were also some lovely minerals and rocks giving it a touch of wonder and discovery. The owner was warm and welcoming. He seemed genuinely happy to have us there, and ready to help with anything we needed. He made the whole experience feel even more special. There are electric and water hookups available,just in case you have an RV.

Camp Escape lived up to its name! A fantastic property teeming with nature, yet still right within reach of the city. Shelby is very kind, helpful, and made us feel right at home. Our campsite was just the right size, a personal haven, providing the peace and quiet we were craving.The provided firepit and level land made setting up a breeze - even during a massive downpour! It was exactly the what we needed. If you're looking for a quiet and safe camp experience without roaming too far from Louisville, look no further! We definitely recommend Camp Escape!

Last minute travel to Louisville to catch a concert, decided to camp instead of getting a hotel. Only 17 minutes away from our show. Super relaxed place to stay, even had firewood. Easy in and out + gate provided security.

Weekend Trip to MoonLight Grove Farm

It’s big farm than I expected. There are goats, pigs, chickens also cute cat. Shower is available and they provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash. It was very safe and hosts are very kind. Cell is not working that well but wifi is available near there house. Highly recommended!!

1 night at Cabins at Guthrie Meadows

This was a same day booking from a changed route plan in our trip. Although we got there after dark, the directions to get to the cabin were clear and lights were left on to help. The place is as described and very charming. We arrived at 11pm and were able to start a fire, relax, and let the dogs out and wind down. The loft was great for our 14 year old and the queen bed was comfy.

Good site near the creek. One porta potty provided for all the campsites. The site is right next to train tracks. Site was mowed recently and we had a fire pit. $8 wood available. "Secluded" campsite phrasing was an overstatement.

This place rocks. Very serene and lots of beautiful nature to explore. The host Kerry is super nice and welcoming and willing to help. Outhouses are well kept and remove any fear you may have of the old fashioned. There’s also a really sweet dog that may periodically visit your campsite. Would especially reccomend this place if you are looking for a quieter and more primitive camping experience. This is definitely my new go-to for camping in the Kentuckiana area.

We enjoyed how quiet and private the cabin was. Very friendly host, explained everything well. Heated blanket came in handy on a chilly night! Enjoyed the well appointed outdoor kitchen and very clean composting toilet.

This is a great spot outside of the city! I stayed here two nights with my two cats and we felt safe and comfortable. There is a train that goes by and is pretty loud in the night and during the day. It didn't bother me much but just something to know. I am so happy I found this spot and if I go through KY again, I will be staying here again! Porta potty was super clean and close by. Other than the train, this spot is quiet and so peaceful with the sound and sight of beautiful birds. Highly recommend this spot if you're looking to camp near Louisville!

Weekend Trip to Canyon View Quarry

Such a cool spot!! So peaceful and beautiful. Host went above and beyond to make sure we found the site easily. I only wish we could have spent more time there!! Firewood included was also such a nice touch!

The farm adjoins the 75 acre Stranger Hills Organic farm, the oldest organic farm in Indiana. Our 1899 Farmhouse is the only residence on the entire farm. There is a 3000 acre farm to our south. The area is quiet and very private. The campsites are in a grassy walnut grove by a small creek that runs along the eastern border of the property. We have a white deer creek cabin tent on a platform there and 3 or 4 nice level campsites to the north. There is a shaded RV site at the top of a small hill with 30 amp service. We can accommodate a large RV on packed gravel with 50 amp service. the farm is located 15 minutes east of McCormicks Creek State Park. There is a composting toilet and an on demand hot shower in a small building adjacent to the campsites. There is a YMCA about five minutes East of the property. \\\

We have coyotes,bobcat,mountain lion,fox,deer,skunk racoons, opossums etc... Keep food contained and be aware of surroundings! I do have 2 honey bee hives on property.

It can easily accommodate two four-person tents, or bring a hammock to set up among the younger walnut trees. Grill your favorite local food over the fire or on the propane grill. Hunt for some fossils, we'll point you to where you can find them. Stephens Creek is a short walk from the campsite, play in the water or fish for some rock bass. Relax and enjoy the sunset over the Southern Indiana hills.
