Electric will be supplied via extension cord and we can provide well water to fill your tank or a hose from our pump for you to use as needed. We own 10 acres with a pasture of wild flowers, chickens, and several varieties of trees. The surrounding 100 acres along Big Blue River is owned by our family and available for your enjoyment. Kayaking, hiking, bird watching, swimming and just relaxing! We hope we can be a quiet spot for your travels thru the midwest. We are 30 minutes from Indianapolis, 20 minutes to a gorgeous lake and mountain bike trail and Knightstown has several quaint shops and antique venues for you to enjoy! Please keep all animals on a leash or contained. We do live in the midst of cornfields and forest where racoons, opossums and our pets live. We have outdoor kitties Reginald is a big gray boy who will try to climb your leg if you stand still long enough! lol Abigail is our outdoor pooch and she does like to roam outside during the day. We also have a new to our farm rescued Great Pyreneese that is adjusting! She is in an enclosed pen behind our barn and should'nt cause you any trouble. I have two properties which offer two different kinds of camping, which I have tried to itemize separately in the Hipcamp listings. The pictures were hard to sort out.RV's and Campers will park on the upper level at the Panama Street address which has water and electricity. You cannot actually see the Ohio River from the parking lot, but it is a short walk. Any pictures of water were taken from the tent camping site. If you are in a large vehicle, but are looking to spend a lot of time by the river,, you can hope that the site is available for use, which usually it is, (somehow I rarely book both places at once), or you can book both sites. Tent campers set up their tents right beside the river. There is a very simple house with a bathroom, cold running water, electricity, and also provides shelter in bad weather. It's an unusual set up, as perhaps Hipcamper spots often are. On one hand I feel like I am in the middle of nowhere when I am on these (small, very not fancy) properties by the river. On the other, there are planes, trains, barges and pleasure boats, and motorcycles passing by at times. California is just a few minutes off I-275 from the Kellogg exit, and a 15 minute drive from Cincinnati. It is the eastern-most neighborhood with a quaint village feel. Safe, flat, scenic and walkable, California offers several dining experiences, one a brewery, and quite a variety of recreational experiences. Riverbed Music Center, in season, is a mile away, walking distance, as is Belterra, the race track/casino. The bike trail is a few blocks away and connects to all the other area bike trails including the Loveland Bike Trail along the "Wild and Scenic" Little Miami River. A local nature preserve, California Woods, offers hiking and nature programs, and there is even the California Golf Course. A park with large, grassy open spaces and small playground is a few blocks away. Bring your game of horse shoes, corn hole, a frisbee to throw, your skateboard, golf cart, or some bikes just to cruise around and take in the scenery. The Little Miami River flows past Armleder Park a few miles away, which has a gravel river beach, a dog park, walking and biking trails and connects to the 5 mile loop around Lunken Airport. There is a lot to do in Cincinnati.

If it is too wet to access the creek side spots, we can still accommodate your stay in the nearby barn driveway but if you are unable to back up with the 'toad' then a detach will be required. Again, this is only if it is too wet to access the creek side camp spots. Generally we will be able to help you back in, but at times we may be away and suggest a helper in guiding you into the barn drive. Note, the barn driveway is not a pull through site.

What once started in the mid 1800's as a 240 acre sugar maple tree farm is now our little 18 acres of heaven on earth. Our house was built on the property in 1875. The land is rolling and dotted with flower beds, animals, and beautiful green grass that is mowed weekly. We are bordered by fields and a cemetery that dates back to the 1800's.We are neighbors with those who grow crops, raise beef cows, bison, and alpacas.2 blocks from our driveway is Blue River which offers fishing, kayaking, tubing, and canoeing (if you have your own equipment). Town is 2 minutes away, but there is not much there other than a convenience gas station, aTodd's Great Outdoor Bait Shop, and an engine repair shop. There are often festivals, open Music Jams and community events. "Civilization" is a 30 minute drive to find movies, grocery, shopping, and a public pool. The sky appears to be scattered with diamonds on a clear night and during season the fireflies light the trees up like twinkling lights at Christmas! Learn more about this land: We have an 18 acre mini farm, close to a small town and near a river. We have two small ponds that can be fished in during the early spring, wildlife, and birds to watch. There are 6 very nice areas for camp sites that allow for privacy and relaxation. Each site has a fire pit and table. We also have just put in a new out house and have a port-a-potty for our campers to use. We are 10 minutes from Interstate 70 and only 30 minutes from Indianapolis. If you are just passing through or arriving late, let us know and we will be happy to have a campfire started for you. Accommodations can be made for group camping! We also have a gazebo that can be used for weddings and vow renewals. Officiant on site.

2 nights at Away at Green Hill

Teri and Mike have done a fantastic job here! Things are even better than expected from the online description and the welcome kit was a pleasant surprise. The sites are well laid out with plenty of privacy. Great star gazing here, and I saw deer several times. This was my first time camping here, but I hope to be back again next season.

This was such a peaceful spot — I had the whole place to myself! Communication with the host was quick and easy, and they were very helpful. I’d definitely recommend arriving during the day, as the driveway can be a little tricky to spot at night and it’s fairly steep. Once settled in, we had a wonderful time by the river and enjoyed the gorgeous fall colors. Highly recommend!

Georgous place! Perfect place to relax and unwind. We stayed here in October and enjoyed the fall colors on the Ohio River which were beautiful. The sites are perfect for boat and barge watching. Randy is super. He was attentive to all our needs. This is my new favorite campground. We will be back.

Weekend Trip to Urban Rock Farm

We loved this site, a very amazing place to relax and enjoy the solitude of this natural setting while providing a short commute (20 mins) for us to explore all things Cincinnati. Definitely a destination we will visit again. The host, Cynthia, nailed this quant urban solitude escape with her Creekside camping experience. My wife is still talking about how she misses the Alpaca's already.

Weekend Trip to A Notch Above-RV Riverside Campsite

We had an amazing time at A Notch Above. It was us and our friends at the site next to us. It was perfect for buddy camping. We had sites 2 and 3. Our campers faced the river and ir was a beautiful view. We were fortunate enough to see multiple bald eagles and many other birds. Watching the different barges and boats mo e up and down the river was another nice thing about camping at Randy's place. Randy is a very nice, helpful host. I would definitely recommend A Notch Above if you are looking for scenic views and relaxation.

What a great location and beautiful site. The entrance looks tricky but worked out perfectly. We enjoyed the river, bardges, bald eagles and looking at the stars. Some things to note the road behind you is close and there is some road noise but it didn't bother us. There is a porta potty on site in the middle but it was clean and did not smell. Randy was available when needed and even checked in to make sure we arrived ok. Will return

The site was very level and spacious. The firepit was located right by the river. We sat there every night with a fire and watched the barges go by. My only negative was the septic hookup. I have never delt with one that was sideways out of the ground. It backed up and leaked gray tank water all over so I was not able to completely empty my tank.

1 night at Away at Green Hill

High and dry. Mostly level site and surrounded by trees. Fire pit and picnic table. Very private. A very short walk to the toilet. A nice Welcome Kit provided. Firewood available. There is an incline at the site entrance. Although there was a light rain, my Kia Telluride had no problems making it up the hill. Teri and Mike were outstanding hosts and had the site ready to go. Communication was excellent. I’ve already made my next reservation for October!
