Fall is finally here. It's so Welcomed - summer was brutal - either 95 degrees/95% humidity or raging storms! So cool temps & beautiful leaves are looking good. NOTE: many weekends are already booked through Oct so get yours booked asap Entry point to western Boone County in Northern Kentucky, neighbor to Cincinnati, Rabbit Hash, Indiana the Ohio River, this 27 acre property marks a geographical change from rolling farmland to steep, forested hillsides. Our end-of-the road, ridgetop property means privacy. Our isolated campsites are surrounded by woods full of turkey, deer, owls, and woodpeckers. Onsite there are wide, easy strolling paths, a growing number of single-track hiking trails, open fields, and forest. And if not booked, a historic log home to explore and do some porch sitting. A great place for solo campers, friends, and families, whether newbies or experienced. Drive-in sites make unloading/loading easy peasey. Standard amenities include privacy - we only book two sites at any time, which are far apart from each other and surrounded by woods. Also, an exceptional outhouse, tables, fire rings, lanterns, Welcome kit (paper, fatwood, lighter, candle). And onsite firewood purchased during booking or while onsite. Site 1 - Open Sky accommodates solo or the group, tents to small campers. It comes with extra amenities: hammock, trampoline, (badminton & cornhole by request). It's also closest to the cabin, strolling trails, firewood shed, outhouse. Site 2 - Gobbler's Knob is a more cozy space - a small rise surrounded by forest. A short walk from the outhouse and firewood shed. It can accommodate pop-ups, small pull-behinds, tents, hammocks. Vehicles can park on site or park at site entrance, just 50'. Site 3 - Henry's Holler. By request only. For 4WD overlanders only. Read site description in full before requesting. Boating, kayaking, biking, hiking, or lazing about in tiny riverfront towns minutes away, The curvy, scenic roads lead quickly out of the paved civilization of Union, Kentucky to us and onto the Rabbit Hash General Store, the Ohio River,, historic Dinsmore Homestead and State Nature Preserve, Middle Creek Park, and Big Bone State Park "Home to Modern Vertebrate Paleontology" or the Creation Museum. Named for the flock of turkeys scared off when we first walked the land. This very private site is on a small hill, surrounded by forest, with direct access to The Great Googly Moogly Trail. A short stroll to the outhouse, a short drive to the wood pile. Best for two tents at most, two cars at most. Can also accommodate popups, rooftops, small trailers. Drive right up unless horribly wet weather than a very short walk up from the flat parking spot.

Site 1 is our largest and most accommodating spot, offering the closest access to services including the woodshed and outhouse. It features a spacious, open field with shady trees, surrounded by forests. You’ll have immediate access to our walking paths, frog pond, and the historic log cabin. And this site comes with extras including a hammock and trampoline - and badminton and corn hole if requested. The flat, open space is ideal for multiple tents or campers, with plenty of room for larger groups, outdoor games, or kids exploring the area. Enjoy ridge-top views in winter and lush greenery in summer—perfect for a getaway that blends easy peasy along with the great outdoors.

By request only. Send message. This site is for 4WD only and for self-contained overlanders or low-maintenance tent and van type folks. Down a steep hill, which in wet weather can become uncertain for 2WDs. It's also farther away from the outhouse, but still a relatively short-walk or even shorter drive. And it's not a holler at all, it's actually a plataue of sorts surrounded by forest. It is nearer the edge of our property and, while you wont see any neighbors, there is a greater chance of hearing them. Not often but it can happen. Finally, there's military transport vehicle there. Some find it an attraction, but it's certain not a natural feature ! So we promise less and it costs less too! But happy to accomodate if this is your preferred site. Comes with fire ring, table, lantern, and welcome kit.

Wow, what a great experience for us & all of our guests! We had the party that we always wanted - but only because Hosts Teri & Mike made sure that everything was perfect. We could not have had an event so special without their advice, guidance, & ongoing support throughout the evening. The site is beautiful & the Barn and Cabin gave us special spaces to use for food, music & enjoyment. Not to mention the stage/covered bandstand attached to the barn! And after outdoor dining, music and dancing ... relaxing by the fire and making S'Mores under the stars. We heard from numerous guests - "this is the most amazing party that I have ever been too!" We have to agree, Teri and Mike's place and their help made it all happen!

What a great getaway. Awesome spot. You would never know you were so close to any major city. I like the fact that Rabbit Hash is close as well as Big Bone Lick State Park. If you need stuff Kroger isn’t too far away. Plenty of room between sites that add to the privacy. Firewood is available as well. Great place to explore while on property and the “world’s coolest outhouse” is awesome. This site “Henry’s Holler” is a 4x4 only site that is extremely private. I take my single axle trailer down there with a rooftop tent on it. I love this as a getaway from Cincy hustle and bustle. Teri and Mike are great hosts.

The campsites were great, we rented two sites and had the whole place to ourselves. Hosts were great, very responsive and accommodating. Beautiful place to stay, trails were great for kids, cabin was neat to explore, outhouse was better than most. Kids loved the trampoline at the Open Sky site. Great time overall, will be going back again!

The land is so peaceful and all the buildings are well maintained with great amenities. Teri and Mike were quick to respond to any questions or needs we had throughout the weekend and we can't wait to come back! We couldn't have asked for a better host or a more welcoming space!

High and dry. Mostly level site and surrounded by trees. Fire pit and picnic table. Very private. A very short walk to the toilet. A nice Welcome Kit provided. Firewood available. There is an incline at the site entrance. Although there was a light rain, my Kia Telluride had no problems making it up the hill. Teri and Mike were outstanding hosts and had the site ready to go. Communication was excellent. I’ve already made my next reservation for October!

This was the PERFECT camping experience. Amazing communication, little touches that made it feel like more than just a campsite, and entertainment at our site for everyone with cornhole and badminton! My boys were asking when we could come back before we even went to sleep on night one!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Clean, Cozy, and So Much Fun! This campsite exceeded all our expectations! The first thing we noticed was how clean and well-maintained everything was—especially the toilet, which was surprisingly neat for a campground. It made the whole stay so much more comfortable. The hammock setup under the trees was the perfect touch—we spent hours just relaxing, reading, and soaking in the peaceful vibes. And the trampoline? Total win! The kids (and even some of us adults 😄) had an absolute blast bouncing around. It added such a fun, unexpected element to our trip. Between the quiet surroundings, the thoughtful amenities, and that dreamy hammock nap, this place really felt like a hidden gem. Definitely coming back!

I loved tent camping on Teri’s land. It was a big field surrounded by trees that gave us privacy from other campers. The trails and trampoline occupied the kids for most of the day. We heard coyotes and an owl which made it even more fun. I would highly recommend staying here.

Teri and Mike were great hosts. The camp site was absolutely perfect for our group. Abundant space for multiple tents to spread out and a central gathering space for fire and dining. We've already started discussing dates for our next visit. And yes, the Pit Toilet is as great as everyone says.

We had a great weekend tent camping on Gobbler’s Knob. The site felt private and the property was very quiet (besides the lovely birds!). The outhouse was clean and well stocked, and the firewood nearby was super convenient. We would definitely camp here again!

I really like this campsite! It was well-maintained, and the kids ran around barefoot. The trampoline, hammocks, and trail course were great too. I think it would be even better if there was a water tap. We’ll definitely come again!

What a wonderful experience, Teri and Mike have a beautiful area tucked away in Northern KY. Plenty of space between campsites! We stayed at Henry’s Holler. It’s a 4x4 only site. There is a steep hill that you may need 4wd to get up. That being said there are a few more spots to reserve that this is not a requirement. It is so peaceful here. You would never know you were so close to busy areas. Rabbit hash is right down the road as well as Lawerenceburg Indiana. Just a short distance is also Big Bone Lick State Park. If you just want to get away this is the spot for you. The log cabin on site is so cool. Plenty of walking can be done as you meander along some easy trails. The “outhouse” on site is cute. It is the only bathroom on property. Well stocked and not your typical “outhouse”. It’s adorable. You will have to see it to appreciate it. This is a great alternative to camping at a campground. Note: there is no electric or water. Also pack out what you pack in. You will be greeted with a “welcome” kit that includes a citronella candle, some paper and fire starting accessories. Firewood is available for purchase by the barn. I will definitely be back! Teri communicates very well to make sure all is going well. Don’t be afraid to explore this great slice of heaven.

My daughter, dog, and I all enjoyed our stay at Open Sky. There is plenty to do, the host had bad mitten set up, left cornhole boards for us to use, there is a trampoline, a hammock, short hiking trails from the site, and the old cabin nearby to visit. The outhouse is one of the best outhouse experiences I've ever had :) We will be back for sure!

We had to e greatest time at Open Sky! I took my daughter and her three friends to celebrate her 12th birthday. Teri and Mike were so wonderful and communicative. They set up badminton and cornhole and even left her a special birthday gift! The land is beautiful and there was never a dull moment. Thank you so much to the hosts!!

The property is a lovely, secluded bit of Northern Kentucky just outside of civilization proper. The drive in gives you that feeling of getting away one looks for when in the outdoors. I enjoyed the slight elevation gain getting up to the site. My site was private on a knoll with light views of the surrounding ridgelines through the trees. The hosts are kind and attentive if needed. I'll be back.
