Solar Off The Grid Cabin

7 Acres close to skiing, hiking, spalunking, canoeing ,moutian biking and over 700 acres across the street of undeveloped Hoosier National Forest . Great for Hunting

 The Cabin is powered by solar & wind and uses a filtered rain water collection system. It is close to French Lick & Paoli, hiking, golf, canoeing, spelunking, skiing hunting and more. Please note that during the winter months the angle of the sun is lower and the panels do not produce as much power as in the summer months (plus you have less daylight hours) . Depending on the cloud cover you may be limited to lights only in November, December, January and February  . There is a generator available for rent at $10.00 per night plus gas or you can bring your own.  There is a wood stove and a 13,000 btu indoor gas wall heater for heat, both units provide more than enough heat. There are two window air conditioning units that can be used in May, June, July and August. Once you get to the end of August or on cloudy days you are limited to the amount of time you can use the AC units unless you rent the generator.   There is a propane cook stove available if you run out of power and 2 charcoal grills (you supply charcoal).   Please note that the cabin is still a work in progress and is not 100% completed. Also note that if rain is limited there may be no water.

My husband and I purchased this land about 7 years ago. We have cleared the area for our campground and built a screened in shelter house. We are now excited to share this with fellow campers.Learn more about this land:Bring your camper to one of our two graveled campsites. We have 30 amp hook ups. Our shelter house is screened making it a great place to play games, eat or just visit while enjoying the great outdoors. It has lights and multiple outlets.We are located just 10 minutes from scenic French Lick. There are activities for young and old alike in this little tourist town. Kids and adults both will enjoy the water park, go carting or playing laser tag. Adults can play a round of golf at the Pete Dye Golf Course, shop at a local boutique in the afternoon and grab dinner at one of the many local restaurants then relax around the campfire with a s’more for dessert.Nearby Paoli  is home of Paoli Peaks Ski Resort. Open December - March.  Paoli Peaks is for skiers, snowboarders, snowbladers, and tubers. The Peaks are located on a natural hill at a 900 ft. elevation with a vertical drop of 300 ft. There are 17 runs and many chairlifts and tows.Be sure to also check out Paoli Rock -N- Bowl Family Fun Center. You can not only go bowling but you can also play games, jump in the inflatables, try your shot at laser tag, and enjoy bumper cars. You won't want to miss their latest attraction...roller skating.

Persimmon Honey Hollow

Cozy ramshackle farmstead in the Hoosier Hills offer a chance to get up close and personal with the land,

 through camping, and hiking through the woods. 
 

Not only is Hoosier National Forest located both to the north

and south for hiking and trail riding, but just 3 miles away is

the Rise of Lost River at  Orangeville, a natural landmark.

 Spring Mill State park is located about 20 minutes away in Mitchell, IN, while Patoka Lake is about 15 minutes south of nearby French Lick. 

 For those interested in farmers' markets, Orange County Homegrown markets run Saturday at Orleans(10 miles away) from 8am-noon, and in French Lick 7 miles) from 4-8pm.

Onsite parking spot makes for easy loading and unloading. The main house is just beyond the trees and down the hill.

Brambleberry Permaculture Farm

Espri and Darren began Brambleberry Permaculture Farm in the fall of 2003 in the beautiful hills of southern Indiana.  We are primarily a plant nursery, but also offer permaculture landscaping and farm consultations.  We usually have cows, chickens and rabbits, but are currently taking a break from cattle to build better fences lol.  We occasionally have peacocks, ducks, pigs or other livestock as well. Cabin is completely off grid - no electricity, but there is cell service at the location.

Gobblers Knob

Camp sites are at top of hill with shaded tree canopy in summer and extensive view in fall til spring. At night, openings in tree canopy provide a star lit view of the night sky.Picnic tables and fire pit available at main cabin for shared use. Flexible camp sites for secluded and private setting. . . Approx 15 minutes to French Lick.

The huge pine trees provide ample shade for tent and RV campers.

Unplugged Acres

Our land is nestled between tracts of the Ferdinand state forest.  We have been on the property since 1999 and we have enjoyed sharing our little slice of heaven with friends and family thru the years. We promise you will be able to unwind once you get here. The property is mean for relaxing!Learn more about this land:A spacious flat yard atop a hill makes for a great spot to park your RV or camper. The grass camping lots are mowed and clean.   Two large pine trees provide some shade for one of the camping spots. You can enjoy nearly panoramic views of the night sky!

Patoka  lake is less than 10 minutes away ( boating, fishing, hiking, swimming, biking).
Holiday World ( an amusement park) is about 30 minutes away.  
French Lick casino is about 30 minutes away.  There are lots of local wineries to  make for great road trips.
Louisville is a little over an hour away.
Paoli Peaks ( ski and snowboard attraction) is less than an hour away.

Communal fire pit. Brining your own wood is appreciated and later on we will sell firewood.
