My favorite trail at Governor Dodge is the Lost Canyon Trail that starts with the decent to the gorgeous Stephen's Falls. My favorite time of year to go is around Mid-May when the leaves are G R E E N and the bugs are minimal.

3 nights at #JTRidge Sites/Clothing Optional

I stayed at the Eagle’s Nest. I loved the little cabin especially since no tent was needed. The front deck was perfect for cooking and the view was spectacular. Scott was extremely attentive to my every need. He met me and helped load my gear in his trailer which was pulled by his 4-wheeler. As much as I loved the Eagle’s nest, the riverfront campsites looked very inviting. Scott has engineered a rain water shower, so I used my solar camp shower to heat the water. Perfect! Give this place a try!

Weekend Trip to #JTRidge Sites/Clothing Optional

Tent camping at Jungletown Ridge campground this past weekend was an enjoyable experience once again. The campsites were very clean and well maintained. Scott & Kimberly are the greatest hosts a person could ask for. The sites along the river and pasture are great backdrop to the views. Got to see deer and squirrels and a big assortment of birds. Will definitely be back soon and recommend it to everyone who wants to try a clothing optional camping trip.

Weekend Trip to Coyote Springs Farm

Peaceful location yet close enough to town if you forgot something. Not that you would actually have to go get it because the host's are amazing and provide everything, you really just need to bring yourself, clothes and food. We loved the outdoor space especially traveling with dogs. Host was great, checked in about half way through our stay to see if we needed anything. I also really appreciated that they checked in with us again before the possibility of severe weather, it was very comforting. We will definitely be coming back.

I booked the sight originally for river access, swimming, fishing. With the rain earlier that week. The river was a flowin. But the view and peaceful air. And very well kept campsite was phenomenal! The sites are secluded and spaced wonderfully. So clothing optional is not in your face. Do or dont. I brought my kids. The 4 yr old took full advantage of the optional clothing. Very nice job Scott and Kimberly.

Weekend Trip to 1860's Botanical Paradise

Super great experience. I stayed in Bunkie. There is no AC BUT a nice fan and windows that open. I was there during the heat advisory and was comfortable. Fresh coffe made by the host, Jessica. Get some eggs while you are there as they are amazing. Would definitely stay again.

Weekend Trip to Coyote Springs Farm

My glamping stay was very nice. The site and tent were lovely, nicely set up, clean and very quiet. A Weber grill and propane cooker were provided along with a plastic storage bin with cooking utensils in it. There is a fire pit to enjoy the evening with, but you might want to bring some fire wood if you like to have a fire for a while because there wasn't much wood provided for the one night I stayed. If someone has any issues with going up or down steps be aware that the steps going up to the deck the tent is set up on are steep and narrow and there is no railing around them so it might be a bit of a challenge.

2 nights at Coyote Springs Farm

This was an amazing site for a get away weekend. The views were stunning and you could tell the site owner went above and beyond thinking of thoughtful ways to make guests feel welcome. The dogs were able to run off leash and they were absolutely in heaven. The pictures don’t do it justice. I would definitely stay here again.

We had an amazing time tent camping for 3 nights to celebrate our son's birthday. He said it was the best camping trip ever! We had a blast swimming, fishing, and hiking around the property. I'd highly recommend camping with Jeri.

We had a fantastic time. Steve met us at the top of the property and helped move our gear from the parking area to the camp. He also provided a tour of the trails and fun facts during the trip. The view of the river was beautiful. They have gone above and beyond with their camp sights. We will definitely be booking another stay.

This was such a great experience. Literally would change nothing. Directions were great, site was large, flat and private. Close to Galena and other nearby attractions. View from the site was amazing for sunsets and I even got a bonus fireworks show from the other side of the Mississippi River. Would definitely book again without hesitation.

2 nights at Coyote Springs Farm

So enjoyed my two day getaway from city noise. First night fell asleep to call of whippoorwills, second night was treated to a great Wisconsin summer thunderstorm. There's nothing like rain on the roof of a yurt to lull one to sleep. Actually I had never been in a yurt before and appreciated that it was so sturdy (and dry) during the storm. At the same time you feel much more connected to nature than you do in a cabin - the wind, rain, sounds of birds, crickets etc. All in all a wonderful summery experience that I hope to have again .

Weekend Trip to Circle M Farm Stay: Camp or Glamp

Family with a 7 year old and 4 year old: Circle M farm cultivates a cozy and inviting atmosphere to enjoy the simple things in life. Our weekend time was filled with endless swinging on swings, relaxing on hammocks, running around the farm, interacting with the animals (cats, dogs, sheep, pigs and chicken), playing carpetball, building campfires and enjoying coffee. Our kids also loved the playground, sand box and sprinkler during the afternoon heat. Kriss herself is an outstanding host and radiates warmth and friendliness. She has anticipated every need and has you covered. Fresh baked pastries, coffee and breakfast items welcomed us every morning on her porch. Both the indoor bathroom and outdoor shower were immaculately clean and stocked with items. We booked this weekend with no plan other than unplugging, relaxing, and spending time as a family. This is the first trip we have been on since we’ve had kids that we actually found RELAXING as our kids entertained themselves and we felt safe having them wander unaccompanied. Thanks for sharing your gorgeous property with us!

Weekend Trip to 1860's Botanical Paradise

The Bunkie was comfortable and cozy with beautiful views of ferns and cedars! The path to the outside was well lit at night, and the new outdoor shower had great hot water and pressure! I loved touring Jessica’s gardens and learning more about how she preserves and uses plants in her apothecary and soap making too! Jessica is kind, hospitable, and generous with her time and resources and made me feel at home. You can tell how much time and care she and her family put into the homestead.

2 nights at Coyote Springs Farm

I had a great relaxing few days. Great views and quiet surroundings. You can hear the frogs sing at night and on a clear night see the stars. The tent was clean and all of the basics were provided. My dog loved roaming around off leash and relaxing on the floor pillows in the tent. This location is 10 minutes away from Governor Dodge state park which offers many levels of hiking,biking, and horseback riding. Perfect respite after a day of hiking.

Beautiful spot on the river. We particularly enjoyed seeing and hearing the great variety of birds. Scott was very friendly and helpful. There was only one other camper while we were there, so it was very peaceful and quiet. Perfect for a weekend getaway.

This gem is perfect if you want to unplug and forget about everything! The pond brings nature to you and my husband and I spent lots of time trying to identify all the bird calls while sitting in your personal gazebo and we were even visited by deer while we enjoyed our camp fire! Jeri and Colin were very responsive and welcoming hosts and close by should we need anything. Totally private and fenced, this property is perfect for your furry friends to explore off leash while providing you peace of mine. Our initial plan was to use this as a home base while we explored Galena near by but in the end it was too peaceful to leave. We wished we could have stayed another night and walked the trails on the property. That will need to be on our todo list the next time we book this oasis.

Now we are home to sheep, steers, hogs, cats, dogs, chickens and myriad wild critters and pollinators and migrators. We are a conservation farm and on a mission to heal our wetland, improve our trout stream and bring people out to the land. We are in Driftless Southwest Wisconsin - gorgeous hills and quilted cropland bisected by oak woods and switchback rivers. Foley's 4x4 Timber Trail Camping

These campsites are located along the lower half of our property and are tucked into fun little sites bordering our off road trial built for Jeeps, Broncos, and other similar off road vehicles. These are primitive style sites and cell phones likely will not work on any of our sites. This is truly a way to get away and just disconnect for a while! There is a VERY steep entrance into the camping area and a small water crossing is also necessary. Low clearance vehicles, cars, campers/trailers, and RV's will not be able to access the zone. If you'd like to camp at one of our sites and have a vehicle that won't qualify -- we do have friendlier parking but it will require quite a hike to get to your site or we can offer you a ride as well.
