Lake Perry Campground was established in July, 2024. We are located just outside the main gates of Lake Perry. Lake Perry is a private, gated, lake community that is only accessible by lot owners and their guests. Lake Perry Campground offers 17 full hookup sites consisting of public water, 70 amp electric, and public sewer. 9 sites are pull through lots that are 25' wide x 35' long, and 8 back-in lots ranging from 25-60' wide and 30-100' long. A seasonal bar & grill operates on the weekends and sometimes more serving canned beer, mixed drinks, premium wines, and adult slushy drinks such as the nearly famous Perrywacker. There is Starlink wifi and an ice vending machine on-site 24/7. Also available late winter/early spring 2026 is a 400 square foot studio cabin featuring a 12x16 deck, bedroom, full kitchen, full bath, and a kitchenette/bar. (Sleeps 4)
We are 5 miles from Mark Twain national Forest, as well as multiple conservation areas with creek access. Several wineries are nearby through scenic backroads. (Charleville, Twin Oaks, Sand Creek). Located at the confluence of the Meramec River and Labarque Creek, my place (Matt's Place) is a ridge above a bottomland bowl of sorts.
The old iron truss bridge here is likely built in 1910 and it has a survey marker from 1932.
The creek has a nice little swimming hole, and a beach that is sometimes sand, sometimes, gravel, and sometimes a mix of both with some silt or even mud after a storm. It's peaceful down there to explore in the creek, wade while looking outward to an opening into the Meramec River. It's also fun to stand just at the mouth of the creek in the Meramec River. It's an awesome view upstream or downstream of tree lined banks, rock bluffs, and every now and then, passing boats, canoes, paddle boards, or kayaks. The old iron truss bridge hovers above the meeting of two waters. The water is cool and clean. Some fifty species of fish have been recorded in this creek, the most in all of Jefferson County and St Louis County. The bottomland has two levels, the lower bottoms down by the creek and the upper bottoms about a hundred feet from the creek. The upper bottoms has a clearing like a meadow with mowed grass.
My favorite things to do here include gazing up at a cottonwood tree that must be sixty feet tall. It's leaves in a breeze are like a thousand hands waving hello. The bottomland meadow offers just enough sky to see bats dance in the dusk air between the trees, then fireflies as it gets darker yet. Up top is where I live.
Just five miles off HWY 44 and HWY 109, at Eureka, MO, (30 minutes west of downtown St Louis, 18 minutes from Six Flags) this place sits on a ridge with great views above the Meramec River.

Grand Army Farm is a family owned working farm. We raise beautiful angora goats for fiber and have chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys and meat goats. We serve local restaurants and participate in many local area farmers market.
We pride ourselves in minimizing our carbon footprint, to the extent that we don't own any heavy piece of farm equipment, not even an ATV. The working portion of the game only accounts for 15 % of the land.

It’s probably about as unique as location gets I can’t imagine there’s another one like it in the neighborhood.. it feels like you’re in a SWAT at a well-kept RV park except you’re in the heart of what was once a thriving community during St. Louis’s heyday. I never felt unsafe walking around, but it’s not the kind of place that most people that are staying there live. That said if you want a taste of a place that has a lot said about it that’s over blown. Try this. It’ll be a unique experience. Also, you can walk to the spot bar and grill local black owned business that welcomed me as if I was a regular, you can walk there in about 15 minutes. Host was great and his knowledgeable about the area.

Lots of grass coverage so when it rained it was not muddy. You can tell the owners are trying to get the place back to how it was. The pool and lake are very nice! The putt putt course is really nice as well but can use a little cleaning up. You can tell they are putting work into the campsites, so it will get there, but some of the sites need work on the electric boxes and water spigots. There was nobody around us, so camping was extremely peaceful and the kids enjoyed running around and riding bikes on the gravel roads.

What a great camping site. Views for miles and animals all around. We truly had a perfect experience. We arrived late for a one-night stay and left in the morning, so we were not able to enjoy all the amenities that the farm offered. However, this didn't stop the host from being very accommodating and wonderful. If you are in the area or even just passing through I would suggest you highly consider staying with these guys. If we are back in that area again we would definitely choose this place. Thanks for hosting us and being very kind. Five stars all around.

I was headed home from travel in the upper north east back to Texas when I had the opportunity to stay Ryan’s land for one night. I will definitely return if traveling through there again! Although technically close to his home, the site is located behind a silo/garden area and feels very private. Ryan provided firewood and ice water free of charge. I enjoyed my last campfire of an extended trip overlooking his farmland.
Free range chickens and cows just over the fence were fun neighbors for the night. In the morning, Ryan also gave me a half dozen eggs free of charge, which I used for breakfast the next couple mornings. Yum!
I was thankful there were ZERO biting insects. Tiny yellow flies were everywhere but did not bite. So all good 😂
Yep. Definitely will stay again if in the area and need a stopover spot.

I took me awhile to come up with a review. If you love rock hounding & laid-back atmosphere and come prepared, then this place is for you! I stayed in RV space, which was all good. Be excellent on a non-holiday time.

We had a really nice time. The pool is big, the water was warm, and the 4th of July fireworks were beautiful. The lake was clean, and we had fun riding our scooters around.
There were plenty of things to do, the RV water pressure was good, and the price was great for a full hook-up site. We would come back.

This has got to be one of my favorite places to stay so far. The lots are nicely spaced apart and the amenities are amazing! We enjoyed paddle boating the huge lake, put-put golf and shuffleboard! The pool looked. Everything was well kept and everyone was so inviting. I’ll definitely return.

We had an amazing time this weekend! My kids loved seeing the animals, playing at the playground and swimming in the lake. We paddle boarded and fished. It is a nice and quiet area and everyone was very friendly and helpful.
