We purchased our 45 acre farm in 1997, since then we have operated a sustainable small organic farm.
In January of 2018 we purchased 58 more acres that is attached to our land.
The property has a greenhouse, high tunnel and about a half acre of field that we raise vegetables and fruit on.
We have a 3 acre pond with a naturally sustaining fish population, that we swim and boat in. There are hiking trails that go through many small pastures and woods with streams running through them.
Plenty of wildlife, hiking and mountain biking areas. We have a certified kitchen at the farm and have products raised and/or made on the farm for folks to purchase.
Supposedly our house is haunted and there are a couple of haunted sites within 15 miles of the farm.
Nearby Taylorville has a Walmart, Aldi, Kroger, and many small local businesses. There is a YMCA and a few parks.
Lake Sangchris State Park is close by. The capital of Illinois, Springfield is 35 miles from the farm.

We are creating a gravel trek around the sites with two entrances and gravel parking planned be completed by 2028. We are working on flushable outhouses and possible showers. Children’s play area by 2027. There isn’t any swimming or fishing available on the farm property. There is a private lake three miles from the sites - see details under extras.
We are located ten miles from the Wisconsin border and villages with their unique shops and museums. 20 minutes from Galena, 45 minutes from the Mississippi River and Dubuque. Iowa. Three hours from Chicago. DNR - department of natural resources have properties a mile north of the farm with nice trails to walk near the Apple river, which is stocked twice a year for fishing tournaments. As well as the Boy Scout campgrounds located nearby. Locals have caught crayfish and swam in the Apple river, we are unfamiliar with current spots. People have tubed and canoed down the Apple river. There are numerous state parks within driving distance for hiking, sight seeing, eagle watching etc. Immerse yourself in the vast history of the area. Again we encourage you to come rest relax and recharge in this peaceful spot.

This was my favorite camping experience yet. The host was very helpful and hands on. The set up was perfect for sunny and rainy days. It was sooo cozy and had a private feel to it. We stayed here this past weekend ⛺️ and I have to say that one of the main reasons we chose this camp site was because of peoples reviews and also the Yurts 🛖 the yurts really got our attention! We got there friday and we met Sam. ( Sam is the BEST 🙌) while we were talking last details, Sam mentioned to us that next day ( Saturday) they were having a Harvest Festival! So we were going to be in between cars and people going in and out all day so we asked Sam if by any chance there was another spot available? No Yurts were available for that weekend, but then he offered us to stay in the apartments they have on the lower level of the learning center! And let me tell you what a BIG game changer 🙌 having a private bathroom and shower is a BIG + specially for women and kids 👌 we had a group of 11 people, so those apartments were more than perfect for having the family under one roof 👏. We really love and enjoyed our stay in this campground 🙌 everyone there was so nice and welcoming 👏 kids love the pizza, the back woods and the creek👌 we had the BEST weather ever 🙌 sunny mornings, chilly and quiet nights😮💨🔥 I will definitely have to go back to stay in a Yurt, or in my tent in the woods✅ and again THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING SAM 👏.

We absolutely loved our time at the Hungry World Farm. Not only is Sam accommodating and kind, the Farm is a great cause that we will not hesitate to recommend to those we know looking for either a quick getaway or a breath from daily life. We had the *best* glamping tent and even got to spend time with a cute farm kitty that wandered into our site. The farm tour was informative, and the vegetables we had the pleasure of getting were delicious!

Wonderful, peaceful stay at CSC. First time in the earth shelter site, which made this such a comfortable sleep. Lots of space for tents too. We fished, biked, had dinner and games at the campfire, and overall had a wonderful relaxing visit. Bill helped us out with many small things that really made the visit extra special, like loaning us bug spray, getting my kids new fishing gear sorted and helping fix an issue with my car. Can't wait to go back!

Sam was great to communicate with, quick and detailed. The yurt was great and had more amenities than I'd expected. The only thing I wasn't aware of going in is that there is only one bathroom/shower available for everyone. There was a large group staying at the same time we were so it was difficult to be able to use the facilities when you needed and without a wait.

The forest view glamping tent and site were lovely. The tent was spacious, comfortable, and clean and it was so helpful to have a small fridge and fans for sleeping. The campsite was also large and private - we could hear nearby groups but not see them, and we made good use of the fire pit and picnic table. The farm learning center/restroom were a short walk away and we enjoyed frequent visits from one of the friendly farm cats!

I had a great time staying in the pod on Nance’s land with my dog. She was a great host! It’s behind the barn and in its own area. Other campers were there and I didn’t hear them. I had a campfire under the trees where I could look up at the fire and see the stars. It was fun to explore on her land. I meditated on one of the two platforms in the open field area. Very calming listening to nature. The barn was nice to use her burners to make coffee and she has refrigerators in there to store food.

I originally booked this property simply as a place to film, expecting just a small house and some land to move around on. We loved our glamping stay at Hungry World Farm in the Forest Glamping Queen Bed spot. True to its name, the tent was nestled in the woods, far enough away from the other sites to feel totally private, but close enough to the bathroom and learning center building amenities to be convenient. The tour of the working farm and gardens was really impressive, and the nearby perennial garden was exploding with color, bees, and butterflies. This is a special property. Thank you!
