Quick overnighter
This was a great spot for a quick overnight get away. Host was very responsive and helpful (even helped coordinating a supply order from nearby farm). The other site was occupied but there is enough separation that we never noticed them (and hopefully reverse is true). Also far enough removed from the road so there wasn't any road noise. We weren't able to check out the dark-sky factor due to the overnight thunderstorm - we got a light show instead.

NEW Hammock Haven
Had a perfect time!
Was a nice quiet spot with everything we needed for a relaxing weekend. Everyone was super friendly, the bathroom facilities were clean, and the goats were fun to talk to. If you enjoy bird-watching, you'll be delighted to see all the different birds that hang out in the surrounding trees. Would definitely recommend!

Permaculture "Earth Shelter" Cabin
Awesome place! I highly recommend. Very well maintained site. The cabin is beautiful. Perfect for a quiet getaway. And by quiet, I mean very quiet. The surrounding area is nothing but fields and windmills for miles. It's not as hard to find as I thought. They'll give you address that takes you to the entrance. There's a sign by the road with the hipcamp logo. Follow the drive to the cabin.

Very nice campsite! I had privacy, lots of firewood, water, and a grate. Megan even brought us some Asian pears and showed us to out parking spot and campsite. Friendly, clean, quiet, and a beautiful, dark night sky.

When can I return?!
An absolutely dreamy stay at this cabin! From the thoughtful, engaging tour of the farm to the "golden hour" colors on the newly changing leaves to the morning fog over the pond as the sheep baaed in the distance, we had a wonderful time. We also scheduled ourselves so that we could participate in a volunteer work day the morning of our departure—a next-level opportunity to engage w the local community and hosts. Can't wait to visit again!

Great time
Loved our weekend here. The host provided plenty of firewood and even brought us over some fresh apples from the orchard and let us have some tomatoes from the garden as well. Extremely quiet location, clean, compost toilet was clean and tidy, beautiful wildlife and scenery, and the cabin was very clean and stayed very temperate even when the temperatures dropped down to the high 30s at night.

Second time visiting CSC this year and had a fantastic time. Campsite is clean, quiet and easy to access from parking. Kids loved climbing the apple trees and playing with the goats. Adults loved availability of dry firewood, composting toilet and improvements to the property between our visits. The view of the night sky was amazing! We hope to visit again soon.

Issues with the app/communication
I had to cancel the trip the morning of. My son was sick. I messaged the host and tried to cancel through the app but was unsuccessful. Don’t know if the host got my messages. No replies were received. Was still charged the full amount. A little disappointing.

We will definitely be back to CSC! It was an immaculate, beautiful clearing. They provided very thoughtful accommodations including seating, a picnic table, cooking water, dry newspaper, kindling and firewood. We made fast friends with the goats too. We highly recommend booking a site.

Amazing Nature, Beautiful Cabin
This was our second trip to the cabin and I think we enjoyed it even more this time. There is so much to explore on this property! We were lucky to be there for the migration of the Monarch butterflies this time!

Relaxation and learning ;)
We had a wonderful weekend tent camping at CSC Permaculture Project :) Recommend getting a tour of the land and pitching your tent NOT under an apple tree during late summer/autumn, lol. Also, if you have access to a telescope, borrow or bring one -- we were able to see the fully illuminated Harvest Moon and alignments of Jupiter and Saturn🤩. Big love and many thanks to Heather, William, Big Mama, and Buddy!

The space is a beautiful and well marked. The description given was very helpful, especially since we set up camp after dark. Our host was responsive, attentive, and a wealth of information during the tour of the permaculture sites of CSC. I hope to return!

Awesome Camping Site:)
Great experience and easy to find! My dad and I did motorcycle trip to visit the Kilgus Farmstead in Fairbury. The permaculture site had good amenities very nice campsites. Great communication w/ provider and they were super helpful. Can't wait to go back and share the site w/ my wife sometime soon; maybe even book the tiny onsite cabin because it looked so cool and cute.

NEW Hammock Haven
Wonderful Country Camping
We had a great weekend getaway. I counted at least 10 spots to hang a hammock, but I camped in a 2 person backpacking tent. Definitely want to keep shoes on, as the trees are all apples trees so there are apples falling. It didn’t bother me at all though! The paths are mowed grass, rec covered toes while exploring. The composting toilet has a light on the outside, bring your headlamp at night. My dog also had a great time.
NEARBY CAMPSITES: There was someone at the other camp site my first night, and someone at the earth shelter my second night. They are close but as long as you are being respectful it is fine. Both of my neighbors were quiet and I was when I wasn’t using a small Bluetooth speaker. You can hear the other sites, more or less depending on the nature noise. The sight lines are pretty good, i.e. you can see a bit of the other tent site.
EXPLORING THE LAND: If you explore the rest of the land, you do cross over the bridge/road, up past the goats, unless you want to cross the creek but it was pretty grown up. The goats are so friendly! Watch out for the fence! After the bridge, there’s a cute green building, with the plants for sale behind it. Lots of wildflowers! From my site the willow trees are kind of an indicator of where the earth shelter and pond are.
ADA NOTE: I bet a very sturdy wheelchair could access this site, weather permitting, other tent site might be better.
