We had such a wonderful time celebrating our anniversary here with our toddler. You can tell how much love is put into this land and we enjoy it so much here! We had a very rainy night and the cabin stayed cozy and dry. The land is quiet and was perfect for letting our little one run around. We will definitely be back 😘

Was amazing .. the flowers the wild animals! It was out of a movie fairy tale! Would recommend this space to everyone.. was amazing with a partner but would be a beautiful solo trip. Very private

The accommodations were perfect for a nice step up to tent camping. We had a snug, cozy cabin, access to a flush toilet(!!!!) and refrigerator to keep a few items in. the property was spacious and unique.
Dennis and Ben were great hosts who we enjoyed meeting while they were harvesting their beautiful flowers.
Dickson Mound museum directly across the road was a nice bonus with accessible walking trails. Hoping to go back again sometime!

We had a great time enjoying the peace&quiet. The view is pleasant, and it is a comfortable place to sleep and camp. There's a kitchen with running water & a fridge, and enough fallen timber in the woods that you don't need to bring firewood as long as you're prepared to chop some up. Dennis is a wonderful, friendly guy. I hope we can make it back here sometime!

The farm was peaceful and lovely. The cabin was perfectly simple and charming. The fireflies at dusk and hummingbirds throughout the day, kept things magical. Dennis was a wonderful host. We felt welcome.

Tiny Cabin on Flower Farm!
I stayed twice last year and it was just as nice this year. I sat on the porch where there was a nice breeze, strumming my guitar and watching the hummingbirds at the feeder. In the evening there was a brief coyote serenade. If they howled again later, I didn’t hear it as I was sound asleep.

Tiny Cabin on Flower Farm!
This little cabin is super cute! It has all the needed amenities. I loved having a flushing toilet and the solar powered lights in the cabin were great. I also appreciated that there was a power outlet near the bathroom to charge necessary items. The flowers were beautiful!!

This was our second time staying at Black Sheep Flower Farm. It is so peaceful and beautiful. We hiked at Dickson Mounds across the street and didn't even realize quite how close it was! Unfortunately we ended up leaving due to a walnut tree dropping walnuts on the cabin all night, but I told Dennis about this and he let Dennis know and he offered a partial refund and said he'd be taking care of that branch over the cabin. I will definitely be going back!

This was the most delightful little place to spend a few days to unwind. The view is gorgeous, the cabin is cute as can be, the nearby nature access is to die for, and the bird watching is just *chef's kiss*. I came during an unexpected heat wave so I didn't get to do many of the things I had planned, but I thoroughly enjoyed myself anyway. I spent my time soaking up the birds and the views in the provided hammock. I will say you should remember to bring lanterns, bug spray, a portable battery fan, and firewood for the pit. The cabin has mosquito net lining the walls so you won't battle many bugs at night but you will hear squirrels tossing acorns on the tin roof - don't be alarmed the first few times, you get used to it. The hummingbird feeder provides endless entertainment as they flitter and fight over rights to the territory. Dennis and Ben are incredibly kind and sweet hosts and their little dog Ruby should be declared a national treasure. Bring some art supplies even if you aren't artsy because you will be inspired to sketch and paint when you spend time here. Highly recommend going to Emiquon Wildlife Reserve for sunrise when the birds are most active. The South Ponds are a 2min drive on the same road as the farm, they also offer the most beautiful sunset views I've ever seen with a lookout point and easy parking. At sunrise I saw dozens of pelicans, lots of egrets, and a few herons, sandpipers, killdeer, terns, cranes, and one chill coyote hunting across the field!

Our chocolate lab loved this place. She was in heaven. But we did have a little trouble sleeping because squirrels dropped nuts on the cabin's tin roof throughout the night. The restrooms were clean and nice. It's a great place for pets, but the price is a little high for what is located there.

Just amazing- Second stay here and it was just as beautiful as the first. We stayed in the cabin this time around vs tent camping. Everything was clean and comfortable. Lots of extra touches like binoculars, books on nature, fresh flowers to add to the welcoming atmosphere. I really cannot say enough on how memorable, camling, and peaceful this place is and always look forward to coming back. Thank you, Dennis!

My partner Brandon and I stayed 1nihht. Boy we wish we had more time. The farm was gorgeous the flowers made it special. The wildlife that you hear at night is incredible. I will come back if I ever am in this area again.

We stayed three days and had an amazing time in the little cabin on Black Sheep Flower Farm. The area was beautiful, the cabin and kitchen area were both well-equipped, and we didn't want to leave!

Staying on the flower farm property was simply delightful. My dog and I had the most wonderful and peaceful time relaxing around the farm. It was everything I had hoped for. Thank you, Dennis, for building out such a wonderful spot. The cabin was so cute and cozy, the restroom area was a great amenity, the views are wonderful. I hope to come back again!

The property is very beautiful, the cabin is so charming- all the details are so thoughtful and lovely. I truly loved my stay. It was just me, the hummingbirds, the fireflies and the bumblebees and it was a delight. I can recommend it highly enough.

My second stay was just as amazing and enjoyable as the first stay. It was a hot night, so I really appreciated the cordless fan supplied. I also enjoyed relaxing in the hammock before bedtime. There were lots of fireflies to watch. The first time I stayed I heard a great horned owl. This time I heard a barred owl, a screech owl, and coyotes. So lots of wonderful nighttime sounds. I also heard a bobolink when I first arrived in the afternoon. They don’t have bobolinks where I live so that was a treat.
If I ever make the long drive from my home in New York State to my daughter in Colorado again, I will be sure to stay here. Although it’s early in the season, they were still many beautiful flowers to look at. And a patch of mint tucked against the wood was very fragrant.

I have stayed at several hip camps over the years, and this was by far my favorite. Of course, I lucked out on a day with glorious weather. But the cabin was perfect for my needs. Tucked in the shade on a beautiful flower farm. I’m not a bird watcher, but it would definitely be a bird watcher paradise as it’s located on the edge of forest and field with a national wildlife refuge very close by. Lots of places to walk my dogs and even three geocaches within walking distance. The cabin was very well appointed. Even binoculars and a bird identification book as well as hummingbird feeder frequented by hummingbirds. I will definitely be staying again.

My stay at Black Sheep Flower Farm was like stepping into a rustic dream. The shed was clean and cozy, with screens to keep the bugs out, which was a big relief in early June. The surrounding flowers added a lovely touch of color, and the whole place felt really private and serene.
The bathroom and shower were close by and super clean, which was a big plus. Dennis, the host, was really friendly and quick to respond to any messages. You could tell he's put a lot of effort into making the site special.
I'm already planning to come back later in the season. If you're looking for a peaceful getaway in nature that's still comfy and convenient, this is the spot for you. Highly recommend!

I probably would have left a better review had the host, Dennis, not have given a snarky response when I asked about the flower mug. Since it was offered as an option that I could pay for, I assumed that meant the experience would be available. When I inquired about the experience, he said "You do realize it's only April so they flowers haven't bloomed yet & that's why the cabin was offered at a discounted rate."
Well, since I'm not a flower expert, was offered & paid for the flower mug experience, & saw posts on their FB claiming the flowers were 3 weeks ahead; I guess I made an ignorant assumption. Guess the pictures on FB claiming the early bloom are old.
Furthermore, he forgot to turn the water on & didn't respond for a few hours after I asked about it. He basically told me he just forgot. The light in the cabin was connected to a dead battery pack. I had a lantern & flashlight so I was fine but it just added to the realization that nothing was checked or prepared for me before my arrival.
Because of how he responded I decided to end my stay a day early.
Needless to say it was a disappointing way to spend my birthday weekend. He could have just responded politely & I would've accepted that I wrongly assumed there would be more flowers & turned the water on myself.
I had planned on coming back with my kiddos when it was warmer, but I am sure there's plenty of other areas we would enjoy, without the demeaning response when a guest asks about the area.

Shackteau on a Flower Farm
I spent my last night at the flower farm and it was a perfect way to end a long road trip. The property is super serene and had a wonderful view of the river valley below. I was pleasantly surprised at the comfortable bathroom setup and felt like I was in my own little flower world during my visit! Wish I had had more time to enjoy it all!

The tiny cabin was exactly as advertised. Host was super helpful when we reached out. We picked a cold time to visit but do not regret it at all. We’d love to come back when it’s warmer and the flowers are blooming.

We loved camping on the flower farm! Forrest, our dog loved having so much space to explore and we loved stargazing each night! The views were gorgeous and we had so many close options for hiking each day! We definitely want to come back when the flowers bloom!

Shackteau on a Flower Farm
This site was so beautiful! The view was wonderful and there was a little path through the flowers. The platforms and table were tucked into the woods and made it all really easy to set up and play games. We made dinner over the fire but they even offered a grill! I would definitely recommend this site

Tiny Cabin on Flower Farm!
Very nice stay. The cabin was cute and comfortable, and the bathroom and outdoor kitchen were a nice touch. Water was available, helpful for cooking and washing hands. We brought our dog and she loved running around the farm. Plenty of things to do in the area like visiting the Dickson mounds museum across the street and making the drive to sand ridge state forest.
