Welcome to our piece of paradise. Our family bought “The Land” when our kids were young and it became our weekend camping, fishing, and exploring retreat. We now want to share our rolling hills, fishing ponds and country life with you. Hidden down a farm lane, our land is perfect for spending time in nature. We have well-maintained grass walking trails, two 1-2 acre spring fed, 35 ft deep, well stocked fishing ponds, kayaks, row boats, fishing dock and waders for walking in the creek. We invite you to indulge yourself in the complete quiet of the country and enjoy the serenity of nature. You are far enough away from the big city to see thousands of stars at night, but close enough to get anything you need. You are less than 20 minutes from Jim Edgar Panther Creek State Fish and Wildlife Park, 30 minutes from Emiquon National Wildlife Refuge and Dickson Indian Mounds, 40 minutes from the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and historic sites.Site 1 is a flat grass space on the hilltop overlooking the two ponds, valley, and Indian Run River outline. Guests who book the Private RV parking are nestled behind the cabin near the portable restroom, electrical outlet, and water supply. There is a 1/2 acre area for games, fire pit cooking, picnicking, and a short walk from the walking trails, fishing dock, and easy hike up to the look-out tower or down to the Indian Run RIver. Guests need to burn all trash or carry out and leave no trace.

Need to level depends on the length of the RV. The driveway is a farm lane leading to a gravel driveway that leads down to a grassy area near the electrical and water hookups. The guest can choose where to park based on length of vehicle, skill of the driver, and desire for hook ups.

Off leash, on leash. Pets are allowed off leash. Guests should understand this is a country timber with snakes, racoons, coyotes, rabbits, squirrels, deer, wild turkeys etc. always present. Pets are allowed to run free but should be monitored to avoid injury or chasing wild animals. Guests allow off leash at their own risk.

Hose. The water in the hose by the cabin is city water. Please be sure the hose/spigot is shut off after each use. You may connect the water hose to your RV.

A lovely spot with great fishing.

We had a great visit tent camping with a groups of families with tonnage children. There is a nice flat spot right beside the pond with a firepit where we put our tents. There are nicely mowed walking paths all over the property so the kids could explore. The pond is absolutely full of good size bass, the biggest crappie I have ever seen, and boatloads of bluegill. You can swim in the pond although it is definitely a pond! I have rarely seen so many fireflies and red wing blackbirds. The property sits in a nice valley away from the road, so is dead quiet most of the time. The only negatives were that the amenities could use some upkeep and while we were happy to have such a clean porta potty, it is right next to the entrance to the owners mobile home and out of sight from the lower area where our tents were located. Angie is a lovely and communicative host.

Amazing location!! Dogs got to run freely! Son caught 2 fish on the same cast/lure! Daughter enjoyed the jumping pad on the lake. Wife and I enjoyed the views and privacy!

The land was beautiful as described, but we were unable to enjoy it as it was totally overrun by buffalo gnats. Angie was responsive and kind, but there was nothing that could be done. Apparently the gnats aren’t always there so I would check ahead before booking. Also, from the description, we were expecting a private camping area, but there is a trailer right next to the space where an RV would park. The person who stays there was out the weekend we were there so we had privacy, but I’d check ahead if you were looking to be alone.

Second time staying here. Wonderful spot. very secluded and private. Tons of amenities, gorgeous landscape with plenty of room for the dogs and outdoor activities. Angie is very responsive, and accommodating. Would absolutely recommend!

We had a great time at The Land. Peaceful and quiet - no one around at all. The fire pit sits atop a hill overlooking one of the ponds and a nice little valley - there is a small stream, but it is not visible from the pit area. Some things to note: there are a couple of spots for a travel trailer - if you want to be near the 30A power, your trailer will not be near the fire pit area, as that pole is on the other side of the small cabin (which is a small single wide mobile home), also the water is in the same area, but you will need a longer hose if you plan to hook up to your trailer - so be aware of that. My 25’ hose was too short, but my 75’ hose did reach. You will need to level (my beech lane levelers worked well), so account for that, I backed in and because of the slope needed every block I had to use the rear stabilizers . No sewer, but the Loves in Jacksonville has a dump for $10. Second, the area by the fire pit has NO SHADE, you might bring a pop-up tent or shelter for some shade, especially if you usually use your RV awning, since the power is not near that area, and relaxing with the amazing view by the fire pit area is much better. I really wish I would have brought a pop-up, (or even 2 or 3) it would have made that area much better, as it is hot on that side with no shade. The ground around the fire pit is slightly uneven, and I wish the gravel came out a bit further from the pit. There is plenty of wide open space so you certainly can bring some yard games!

The land is absolutely gorgeous! Easy to find. Host is very responsive and helpful. The tent site is flat. The fire pit has a nice gravel surround with an attachable grill and nearby firewood. Potable water is available from the hose nearby, which came in very handy! They even provide a Johnny on the spot. The first pond has a small dock to fish off of. We loved paddling around the pond in the provided canoe and kayak. Our dog enjoyed swimming off of the old partially sunken dock and running as fast as she could through the property! She met a rabbit and tons of butterflies. We slept well and saw so many stars at night! We can’t wait to come back with our friends for more adventures exploring the land!

“The land” was beautiful, quiet, and peaceful. The ponds and fishing were a nice to use when camping. The, host supplied, canoe and kayaks were great to use while there. We loved how responsive the host is. She is very helpful. Having access to water, a toilet, firewood and the canoe/kayak , is why we decided to camp here and I’m so glad we did! We will definitely be back!
