With over ten acres of property to play at and stroll, your stay will be one of fun, peace and quiet. Our RV & Camp is fun! We have our famous Borrow Barn with loads of complementary activities including a 9 hole disc golf course with maps/disc/scorecards, free pedal boats, Little Free Library #69967, volleyball, tetherball, badminton, board games and more, plus our cruiser bicycles in our Bike Corral are for guests to enjoy on property also. Children must be watched always and very closely-- enjoy being with your children on the property. A beautiful Restroom and Shower House is fee free. We are located in the Heise-Kelly Canyon of southeast Idaho with fabulous sunrises and sunsets. We are very close to hiking, hot springs, rapelling, 200+ miles of ATV and SxS trails, golf, mini-golf, a driving range, skiing, ice cream parlor and two restaurants, and the mighty Snake River corridor right across the road. 90 minutes to the east to Jackson/GTNP/then South Gate in YNP (2 routes-- the mountain pass or the easy Snake River route), and 90 minutes to the north to West Yellowstone/Yellowstone West Gate (2 steep mountain passes). Both routes are beautiful with waterfalls, gorgeous mountain views, and Idaho countryside. We are 20 minutes from Bear World in Rexburg, and less than two hours from Grand Teton Park and Yellowstone National Park regardless of which of the four routes that you take, with each route including a beautiful waterfall. 90 minutes to the east to Jackson/GTNP/then South Gate in YNP (2 routes-- the mountain pass or the easy Snake River route), and 90 minutes to the north to West Yellowstone/Yellowstone West Gate (2 steep mountain passes). It is surrounded on all sides by Payette, Salmon-Challis, and Sawtooth National Forests, it is situated conveniently close to both urban fun in Boise, and limitless wilderness adventures everywhere else. Alpine tundra is dotted with evergreen forest in the green rolling hills here, topped with snow, and anchored by sparkling valley waterways. The Payette River is great for rafting, while Banks Beach and Beehive Bend are just some of the prime access points on the forest’s 250 lakes and reservoirs (Arrowrock Reservoir has surprisingly primo salmon fishing for central Idaho). Hikers will find 500 trails, including some that lead to 360-panoramic views at fire lookouts. The ambitious should try 10,000-foot high Trinity Mountain, while more liesurely trekkers will get just as good a view at Silver Creek. As if that’s not all enough to keep you busy, there are also endless mountain biking trails, including a scenic route along Shafer Butte. You’ll have your hands full at this intersection of so many great parks!

This has become a great place for our family to go to get away for the weekends. The nights are absolutely beautiful and you can see the stars. You can hear the coyotes off in the distance chipping and howling. My kids love to ride their ATV on the trails and we go for hikes and just relax. There is one fire pit for use at each camp spot (2 spots), just please go into the trees and find some wood to re-stack what you have used and ensure it is out with water and dirt. I fight wildfires during the summer and don’t want to have to fight one up there. Plus I may be hard to reach depending on where I’m located. Learn more about this land: Our Bear Lake Bascamp is perfect for boondocking or pitch a tent and camp in our 5 acres meadow or find a small shady spot in the 5 acres of  quakies and pine trees!  Off grid camping! OHV trails (ride from camp), bring your mountain bikes or even just go for a hike. Located at the edge of the Caribou-Targhe National Forest, Montpelier Ranger District, Idaho. The sunrises are amazing and in the evening you can listen to the coyotes off in the distance. It is open in the winter for snowshoeing or snowmobiling in with wood ready for the fire pit!  Recommend, that when you first arrive, build a small fire in the fire pit and the smoke will get rid of any of the bugs around.  We get up there about 1 time a month and mow/trim the path, parking and work on the trails in the pines.   Turn left at the smile face....When you see it, you'll know what I mean ;)  Please be respectful of others who have property in the area as well.  Don't climb over anyone's fences.

As such, conditions may vary and the path may occasionally be muddy or difficult to navigate. While access may require extra care, we’ve personally made the walk with our children (ages 5 to 15) even in high water years. The lake in this area is very shallow for several hundred feet, making it ideal for wading and kid-friendly fun when the beach is exposed. There is no on-site boat launch, but public ramps are just a short drive away. Please note there are a couple of shallow ditches on the property that may occasionally hold standing water. These have never posed an issue, but we recommend keeping an eye on young children just to be safe. Also, FIREWORKS ARE NOT ALLOWED. With plenty of space to spread out and no crowded campgrounds in sight, this spot is ideal for RVers and campers seeking peace, privacy, and unforgettable views. **Off season dates 09/25 - 04/26 no potties or wash station available during this time. Welcome to the base of the beautiful Selkirk mountains, we’re nestled in between the beautiful lake resort town of Sandpoint ID and the picturesque resort area know at priest lake. Our property was originally homesteaded back before Idaho was a state by a trapper who fell in love with this lush little valley in the mountains. Once Idaho did become a state, the officials decided to keep the land surrounding this little oasis making it completely surrounded by thousands of acres of state endowment land usable to the public. There are three full time creeks that run though the property along with a few beaver made ponds and one large man made swimming pond. The site boasts hundreds of campsites ranging from dry RV parking to small tents on rock ledges overlooking the lush valley. Expect to see deer, elk, moose, turkey and a few other wild animals roaming the land around you. We have the space for event camping as well, we have a large covered gazebo for shaded group meals. Furthermore there is also a band stand for ceremonies and live music on select dates. We’re only 12 miles from town but you get that feeling of being out of the rush of the outside world.

Salmon-Challis National Forest and Nez-Pearce Clearwater National Forest are its neighbors, while its Victor Peak, Loon Creek, Loon Lake, North Loon Mountain, Bruin Mountain, Bear Pete Mountain, and Boulder Creek could keep you busy for months. Forage for mushrooms or berries, fish in the chinook salmon hatchery at the South Fork of the Salmon River, or snowboard down Brundage Mountain. Hike to the three historic fire lookouts, or check out the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness, the second largest wilderness area outside Alaska (don’t worry, plenty before you have visited and returned). In this wealth of outdoor activity, it’s hard to tear yourself away for a visit into town. However, you will be glad you took the time to visit the closest town of McCall, where luxury mountain lodges have thermal spas perfect for resting your aching bones in between treks up or down the mountains.

12. Caribou National Forest

The smaller of the two parks in Caribou-Targhee National Forests, Caribou is a welterweight not to be underestimated. Just south of its older brother, this land spans Utah, Wyoming, and Idaho, and is a crucial spot for supporting caribou populations. None of the animals here are bashful: bison, moose, deer, mountain lions, falcons, elk, and even black bears abound! Beautiful to snap shot from a distance. Just south of the forest, Bear Lake is a fun spot to take a dip after you hike one of Caribou’s dozens of peaks (Mead Peak and Hawks Peak have gorgeous views, as does Big Elk Mountain at the northern tip of the park). At the south end, you’ll find campgrounds, fast flowing creeks, and the Minnetonka Cave at St. Charles Canyon. This is a site to see, but it stays 40 degrees down there all year so be sure to pack a coat, even if you’re sweating above ground. When you’re done, stop in the charming small town of Montpelier, surrounded by rolling hills and full of retro grocers and kitschy eateries. Yum!

The bird and wildlife watching in this area is world class. Ospreys, hawks, turkeys and other animals commonly hang out in these parts. You can go for a swim at one of the sandbars, take your dirt bikes or side by sides down Killarney Lake Road to access an extensive network of trails and dirt roads into remote wilderness. There is no cell service, no water or electrical hookups, or toilet. As beautiful as it is, your experience will not be “glamping” unless you come with all the comforts you personally desire. You can hunt on the forest service land by 4th of July Pass, fish on the river, or on the Chain Lakes (with the proper permits, of course). There is a access into the water from camp but it is quite steep. For easy access to the water, use the docks or boat launch at Killarney Lake or Bull Run. Pets and kids are allowed at your own risk. Even though it cold outside perfect beach trip for the doggies. Great Beach acess to go play and go for nice relaxing walks. The views were so pretty and the camping spot was easy to access with rv power hookups great for a easy fast camp trip. Definitely will be back to enjoy a summer camp session.

We had a great stay at Doug and Shannon’s cabin! Located close to Salmon, but still remote and private. We stayed plenty warm in the cabin, and enjoyed the swing by the water. Would definitely recommend and would stay again next time we are in the area!

This was a very cute and homey cabin, perfect for a weekend getaway with my boyfriend. He originally wanted to camp, so even though the cabin is rustic, it was perfect for us. I especially enjoyed sitting on the loveseat on the porch. And having a coffee maker! The hosts were so friendly and welcoming.

Weekend Trip to Prater mountain ranch

I had a peaceful and quiet time at this lovely property. I booked for the weekend and ended up being the only one there. Will was a great host and checked in on me daily. My dog and I had a wonderful time. We chilled in the morning, had a swim in the lovely pond, a nice walk and a nap then sat by the fire in the evening. Couldn't be better. Highly recommend and looking forward to going to one of the music festivals the owners hold there!!! Thank you so much.

Everything was just as described and we had such a good time! We were able to walk down to the lake and the beach was beautiful! The water was warm and so blue. Christina was so communicative and helpful throughout. I would definitely recommend this to everyone!

This was further out than we expected, but it was great. The pond looked a little murky but was actually very cool and with such hot temps we were thankful for it. Large space (field) to choose where you want to camp. Or dogs loved to run and we appreciated not needing to keep them leashed. But that because we were the only ones there. It would be different if there were more campers around.

What a way to escape reality for a bit! The land was beautiful and quiet. Directions were clear and concise! The Outhouses were clean and maintained well and bonus wood was provided, just be prepared to cut it (: we personally didn’t swim in the pond, but it was really well maintained. It would be an amazing spot for Early- Mid fall! We didn’t use them, but grills and were there if you bring propane. Overall a beautiful experience, would be fun to do a big family group trip or retreat here!

Linda was so friendly and helpful! The site is also very easy to get to and quiet, except for the occasional goat sounds! Very safe and very beautiful!

Anchor your boat right next to camp on the Coeur D'Alene River. Public boat launches are available at Bull Run, and Killarney Lake, within 3 miles of camp.
