Camp Chet was founded with the purpose to help people encounter God through outdoor experiences. It over 900 acres of private forested land on Whitwell Mountain, which is part of the Cumberland Plateau in Southeast Tennessee. Take a hike on miles of trails comprised of forest paths, old wagon roads, or coal mining roads. If you find a chunk of coal on the ground feel free to take it home with you as a souvenir. If you are a history buff, you may be interested in discovering previous caretakers from the late 1800's and early 1900's in nearby cemeteries. The camp ground is on top of a mountain, and you will have to go through a locked gate and drive over a mile and half on a bumpy gravel/dirt road. Running Water Creek is a unique, fully off grid campground just 20 minutes to downtown Chattanooga. We have 80+ campsites spread out over 120 acres. Most of the roads are accessible in any small car, but some roads require 4x4 (they're marked with a sign). We have a bath house with toilets, showers, and sinks and even offer hot water! Our well and cabins are all solar-powered as we are not on the electric grid. Some info about the property: -we DO NOT have water or power hookups -we have gravel roads with a 5 MPH speed limit on the property (if you drive too fast the roads will seem rough) -we are right next to a highway and train tracks so there will be some noise (some days are better than others and we have no way of predicting how many trains will/will not go by) -none of our campsites have picnic tables (please plan accordingly) -most campsites have fire rings built, but if you choose a site without one you need to build your own

We stayed in a really cute, small barn-style space that clearly had a lot of handmade character and charm. You can tell a lot of it was built with a personal touch, which gives it a unique feel. That said, the ladder leading up to the loft was very petite and a bit difficult to use. Overall, it has potential and a lot of charm! We loved the plants and garden.

My bestie and I spent two nights at Fireside Camp in the Cabin on the Bluff, and it was such an incredible experience. Nick and Sydney were perfect hosts! The cabin was clean, cozy, and comfortable, and the views from the bluff were absolutely unforgettable. I highly recommend staying here if you get the chance. There’s amazing hiking and rock climbing just minutes away, and their property is truly beautiful!

We loved this site. It has everything you’d want in a perfect campsite. Horses, running water, a fully stocked kitchen, secure and private bath/shower, creeks and trails, multiple fire pits, cute fluffy kitty, electricity. We were so impressed with the custom touches and clever functionality of the kitchen and cabin. Perfect for a group. Oh… and bonus points for the tether ball.

Very convenient to Lula Lake Land Trust. Having the bathroom/shower was great, and the electricity & “kitchen” at the barn was nice. I’d suggest that you still bring some of your own cookware, rather than assume everything you may want to use will be available. Also maybe bring something large enough to warm up some water, so you can effectively use it to wash dishes; the sink in the barn has only cold water.

Nick is an amazing host! Extremely responsive and great with communication and going above and beyond to help with any issues or questions we had during our stay. He gave us some great hiking recs as well! Beautiful off the grid private camping area with all that you would need for a quick and peaceful get away. Loved the out door kitchen and the compost loo with the view was so nice to have in the woods. 10 out 10 would recommend and hope to be back soon!

Pros: Parking at the cabin Self check in with code Clean & comfy Responsive host Heater kept us warm Coffee & cooking utensils included Faucet, sink, & soap in the cabin Firewood provided Dog friendly Easy check out Only one con: We were not told that the attached shower room was shared by the entire campground (there are tent/rv sites around the pond), so we left our things in there. One of the friendly campers brought our stuff to us. Also the shower never got hot, FYI, but the little heater in there was great. We so enjoyed our stay and wish it could have been longer.

My boyfriend and I loved staying at this cabin site. The pond across the way was very beautiful. It was raining a lot during our stay here so we didn’t get to try the boats, but they look like fun! The accommodations like the shower attached to the cabin, cooking utensils, and coffee machine were all very nice. Thank you Randy!

2 nights at Running Water Creek

We needed a spot to disconnect from day to day and reconnect with nature and eachother and this was the perfect spot for us. Definitely will stay here again.
