This property is a beautiful getaway This property was also a portion of the northern picket line during the Civil War at the battle of Resaca. Civil war relics are often found right here on the property.

Our farm was once the site of Cherokee Indian villages. Prior to that, it was the site of Creek Indian and Pre-Creek Indian villages. Local historians and archaeologists share that the area hosted Spanish Conquistadors in their quest for gold.
Today, we enjoy the natural beauty of the area with peace & quiet like no other place you can imagine.
We are a rustic, 56-acre organic farm near the river in beautiful NW Georgia. Adventure opportunities include Hiking, Biking (gravel/MTB/road) water sports & sightseeing at local State Parks.
Please Note: Bikes and water sports gear are not provided - please bring your own.
In addition to our Guest House, we have ample camping space available (tent/trailer/short RV) for overflow guests. Some folks like to camp but have access to the Guest House for more indoor amenities.

The bathhouse offers hot showers, a flush toilet, and sink.
The open pole barn has a deluxe camping kitchen set up with pots and pans, a propane stove, a coffee maker, and a dishwashing sink. There is also a dining table and chairs.
While the property is close and convenient to Chattanooga, once you are enjoying the serene woods, shady trees, starry nights, and quality time with family and friends you will forget all about the city!
While there are no full-time residents on the property, there is a small functioning horse farm about 100 yards from the camping area. On most days the owner will stop by to care for the horses, and teach riding lessons and equine therapy.

The land at East West Farm has been a working farm since the mid 19th century. When we bought it, the farming had ceased about 20 years before and so we re-established a small diverse family farm that was once common all over the country.

Nestled in a valley of Alabama's own Appalachians, we have much to offer here on the farm and nearby. Bring your fishing gear, hiking boots, and backpack! Our two acre lake is full of fish you can spend the day fishing for (bass, bream, & crappie), rent our kayak and fish from it. Explore our pastures, enjoy the views of surrounding hilltops, hang a hammock by the creek and let the babbling waters sing you to sleep or try your hand at stacking and balancing creekstones! You can also get a taste of farm life as well. Gather eggs laid by our chickens, taste our creamy Jersey milk, enjoy a breakfast of sausage from our own pigs.Want even more adventure? We are just a few miles from the Chief Ladiga Bike Path that joins the Silver Comet Trail in Georgia. Take a day hike or go on a longer backpacking trip on the Pinhoti Trail. We will gladly help you locate local trail heads and if you want to go on an overnight trip, we can provide a shuttle service as well. We are also near Terrapin Creek which offers a pleasant day of paddling on your kayak or rent from one of the local outfitters. Check out Noccalula Falls 20 minutes away in Gadsden, stroll downtown, and if you love microbrews you can't pass up a visit to Back Forty Brewing. The tallest peak in the state is Cheaha Mountain, about an hour away and offers hore hiking, waterfalls, and swimming holes. If you love nature and the outdoors, this is the place to be.
We are ruled by nature and the seasons. Please don't expect too much in winter and early spring. We respectfully harvest our own chickens and pigs for meat, so please be aware that there is a possibility that we could be engaged in such an activity. We'll still do our best to make your visit an awesome one.

Are you interested in reliable cell service or wifi? This is not the place for you! Our wi-fi usually/sometimes works and most cell phones will work if you walk up the driveway and down the road a bit. Some people might think of that as a negative. We think of it as a positive! Your peace and entertainment can come from our massive book collection, our indoor games and puzzles, our outdoor games such as horseshoes, corn-hole, Bocce, badminton, or just swinging in the hammock and watching the chickens wander around.
Are you interested in a pristine farm that looks like it could be a magazine? This is not the place for you! On certain days it looks amazing - other times not so much. It is awesome and fun but a work in progress (even after 20 years) and we usually have a ton of interesting projects going on.
Do you want to always have all aspects of this farm available at ALL times? This is not the place for you! We have baby goats in Spring, fresh eggs available to you usually every day, at least one hive is usually available, fresh veggies usually May – October. However, is an organic farm, so we never quite know what to expect. Changes and new opportunities are always right around the corner!
When you are asking about booking, I can let you know what is usually around at that time.
If you are really hard-core there are always fun chores available to learn about (or help with) – mucking the barn (and composting), painting or fixing fences, chopping firewood, feeding and brushing the horse, goats, pig, dogs, planning garden, planting garden, weeding the garden, harvesting, canning, you can always put on a bee suit and check on the bees, etc.
You can also bring a tent (or borrow ours) and use our 17 acres of woods and pastures as a campground. Camping on our property is amazing - the only decision you have to make is whether to stare into your campfire or stare up at the gorgeous starry sky. You can use the cottage for cooking and cleaning up.

Our 360 sq. ft. little cabin is a simple but sweet dwelling offering an alternative to camping with the comfort of the indoors. The 100 sq. ft. loft sleeping area offers one full size memory foam mattress, or there is room on main level for an air mattress if prefered. Pets with prior approval only as we have 3 free range chickens (including a rooster who will announce his presence by early morning). Our property is surrounded by the serenity of the woods and the cabin is tucked under the trees, it is fairly near but completely separate from the main house and there are other homes through the trees so there may be neighboring sounds at times. The cabin offers full kitchen and bath; the toilet is composting but is an odorless model and you will not need to empty yourself. Bring your camp chairs for the firepit at the front of the cabin, or enjoy the back patio and chiminea. Cabin is 3 minutes from the gorgeous Sitton's Gulch creek trail of Cloudland Canyon State Park and just up the mountain is the main entrance to the park with breathtaking views and miles of trails (with waterfalls) to explore! The Lookout Mountain Flight Park is also minutes away. Canyon Grill, Lookout Pizza and Corner Coffee are some favorite local dining options, but it's an easy drive to Chattanooga for additional options and city fun.
