Running Water Creek is a unique, fully off grid campground just 20 minutes to downtown Chattanooga. We have 80+ campsites spread out over 120 acres. Most of the roads are accessible in any small car, but some roads require 4x4 (they're marked with a sign). We have a bath house with toilets, showers, and sinks and even offer hot water! Our well and cabins are all solar-powered as we are not on the electric grid. Some info about the property: -we DO NOT have water or power hookups -we have gravel roads with a 5 MPH speed limit on the property (if you drive too fast the roads will seem rough) -we are right next to a highway and train tracks so there will be some noise (some days are better than others and we have no way of predicting how many trains will/will not go by) -none of our campsites have picnic tables (please plan accordingly) -most campsites have fire rings built, but if you choose a site without one you need to build your own

A hiking path leads up to an overlook with a swing — the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee and watch the sunrise. We are 15–20 minutes from Indian Mountain ATV Park (with space to park your trailer) and less than a two-hour drive to Birmingham, Chattanooga, and Atlanta. Visit Gadsden (~35 minutes) to explore Noccalula Falls Park, especially beautiful with Christmas lights, or Fort Payne (~an hour) to explore Little River Canyon and Desoto Falls. We also have a raised-bed vegetable garden that guests are welcome to harvest during their stay. Our property offers especially stunning views in the fall when the leaves are changing. Weekend Trip to Mountaintop Farm Cabin

The owner was extremely kind. The trip ended short due to the extreme heat (105 degree temps) and a dry well. The cabin is charming and had amenities for those that forgot items. Curling irons, hair dryers, extra razors, and enough cozy throw blankets to snuggle our entire tribe. The tour of the property was fun and the view was par none. We will be back. Thank you so much for our adventure, even if it was short.

I traveled from California to take my grandkids camping. George was an amazing host!!! He was communicative and flexible. when plans had to change due to medical stuff. The site was well designed and surprisingly well equipped. The camp kitchen had all the basics plus. I have a trailer with all my gear so I was grateful to have all the items forgot readily available. The cabin was bigger than expected. We spent a rainy afternoon playing games and napping. Great combination of convenience and real comping!! We will be back!!!

Very convenient to Lula Lake Land Trust. Having the bathroom/shower was great, and the electricity & “kitchen” at the barn was nice. I’d suggest that you still bring some of your own cookware, rather than assume everything you may want to use will be available. Also maybe bring something large enough to warm up some water, so you can effectively use it to wash dishes; the sink in the barn has only cold water.

Weekend Trip to Fireside Camp + Lodge

Nick is an amazing host! Extremely responsive and great with communication and going above and beyond to help with any issues or questions we had during our stay. He gave us some great hiking recs as well! Beautiful off the grid private camping area with all that you would need for a quick and peaceful get away. Loved the out door kitchen and the compost loo with the view was so nice to have in the woods. 10 out 10 would recommend and hope to be back soon!

2 nights at Running Water Creek

I camped for two nights at this spot! Lots of space for my dog to play and easy access to downtown and other attractions. Bathhouse and cabin were clean and bed was comfortable.
