Our 501(c)(3) Non-Profit campsite has soft opening under way! This means we don't have many frills, but we are by far the closest RV site to central Atlanta, and the only one on MARTA public transit (right outside the gate). We are a rare gem in this city. One of the last areas that have been allowed to return to nature after being farmed until the 1960s. We are surrounded by 100s of acres of parkland, and yet are only 5 minutes drive from almost everything you will need. You will see the hand cut terraces put in by the farm workers and then the forest has spent the last 50 years taking it back. Still lots of old growth trees around though. The county just purchased/swapped 50 more acres to go with the hundreds more under it's watch. There is a 14 mile concrete trail that runs behind the property and all the way out along the south river. Quite the hike or bike if you fancy a good walk. There is a 18 hole golf course, sports fields, public pool and YMCA type community center all along the trail and walking distance from the campsite. We are a 501c3 non-profit church that is still in the early days of it's mission. Your donation to our site helps fund our mission and keeps the lights on. We are massively focussed on permaculture as the only sustainable way of life and rapidly moving towards being totally carbon neutral. You will be up close on our early days and see our Solar Roof Cabin (a total of 300 panels and 70kW output when completed). We make a lot of our infrastructure from windfallen and site development trees that are cut and shaped on our own electric sawmill. Much of the rest of the renovations are done using upcycled and donated materials. We are working towards: Total energy and water independence Total structural material independence Food independence via aquaponic farming Providing solar powered refrigerated space to local food distros Providing local kids (and adults) access to training on permaculture and living with minimal impact on the planet. Beautiful property located in the heart of suburban Atlanta. To be honest, wasn't what I thought thinking this Aaron's land was further out of town? However, to Aaron's credit, he has chosen NOT to develop his gorgeous property and keep it pristine and instead turn it into an RV haven. Coming in from the highway with a large rig, it was a little nerve wracking coming in through town and into his property, but if I can fit ANYONE can fit. Lots of separation from others. Wonderful space.

My husband & I spent 3 nights at Risin’ RV. This is a cozy, urban camping experience. Location is great because you feel as though you’re in the country, however you are minutes from downtown East Atlanta. The community here is at a soft open. There is some construction going on, however it really didn’t interfere with our stay at all. You need to be self-contained to stay here because there are no bathrooms or showers. However, there are full hookups for RVs/trailer camping. The camp has a cat & chickens wandering around & that was really fun. Communication with the camp hosts was easy. The camp is secure & safe. There are 2 security gates & we were given a code for the keypad so we could come & go as we pleased. There was a little bit of road noise, however not significant. We had a quite, peaceful stay at Risin’ RV.

The location, convenience, and safety of this Hipcamp is great. Easy access to bike trails, bike lanes, and the bus system into downtown Atlanta was the closest in the area. Adding and changing dates and times was easy. Having access to the gate codes made coming and going easy, also. The chickens and roosters added a hone spun touch.

Loved the location, we could ride our bikes all the way to the Atlanta Beltline bike trail. Everyone was very nice and helpful. The door to the street was very convenient, also. I loved the chickens and rooster visiting us, especially running to our RV when cooking and the smoke detector went off. Too funny.

Gary was so welcoming and kind! My partner and I really enjoyed our one night getaway in the woods! It was peaceful and super close to Helen! We both loved the spaciousness of the tent and amenities provided. The coffee maker was a welcome addition as well as the hot tub! However, keep in mind that the hot tub is not by the campsite, but near the host's house, so bring a swimsuit! I read the reviews prior, so I knew this. The host's house is far enough away to feel private, but close enough to have some peace of mind. He has several dogs as a reviewer mentioned, but they are SUPER sweet and friendly. The only time I heard them bark was when he was on his way to bring us our delicious breakfast! Don't go in expecting something super fancy. This is camping...but in comfort! I wasn't feeling very good when we decided last minute to camp, so this was just what I needed. Nature with some little comforts of home and security. Thank you Gary. We truly appreciate your hospitality and the effort you put into making your guests feel comfortable and welcome! You're awesome!

Gary was an exceptional host making sure we had everything we needed and helped with anything troubles we might have had as well as making any recommendations for us around town. Breakfast was nothing short of divine so highly recommend for any coming to stay here to add that to their trip. Have already spoken to him about staying again in the near future so if you have any hesitance about booking here do not worry as it is well worth time and money to spend time in a wonderful area and being able to talk with a great conversationalist as Gary.
