Our 501(c)(3) Non-Profit campsite has soft opening under way! This means we don't have many frills, but we are by far the closest RV site to central Atlanta, and the only one on MARTA public transit (right outside the gate). We are a rare gem in this city. One of the last areas that have been allowed to return to nature after being farmed until the 1960s. We are surrounded by 100s of acres of parkland, and yet are only 5 minutes drive from almost everything you will need. You will see the hand cut terraces put in by the farm workers and then the forest has spent the last 50 years taking it back. Still lots of old growth trees around though. The county just purchased/swapped 50 more acres to go with the hundreds more under it's watch. There is a 14 mile concrete trail that runs behind the property and all the way out along the south river. Quite the hike or bike if you fancy a good walk. There is a 18 hole golf course, sports fields, public pool and YMCA type community center all along the trail and walking distance from the campsite. We are a 501c3 non-profit church that is still in the early days of it's mission. Your donation to our site helps fund our mission and keeps the lights on. We are massively focussed on permaculture as the only sustainable way of life and rapidly moving towards being totally carbon neutral. You will be up close on our early days and see our Solar Roof Cabin (a total of 300 panels and 70kW output when completed). We make a lot of our infrastructure from windfallen and site development trees that are cut and shaped on our own electric sawmill. Much of the rest of the renovations are done using upcycled and donated materials. We are working towards: Total energy and water independence Total structural material independence Food independence via aquaponic farming Providing solar powered refrigerated space to local food distros Providing local kids (and adults) access to training on permaculture and living with minimal impact on the planet. Teaching people so they can teach others and pay it forward. Come support our mission by staying with us. Help out with your building or farming or engineering skills if you like. Maybe too excellent. So make sure you have a water pressure regulator (we have them for sale or to borrow also).

The sites are back in, but the site was designed for semi-trucks, so there is plenty of room to maneuver.

This was a very interesting place with work in progress. Rik was very kind and helpful when we had a problem with our RV air conditioner by accommodating our dogs in an air conditioned room so we could go to a previously scheduled ticketed event. An uber ride to the Gateway Center was easy and stressfree so location was the best feature.

We arrived and couldnt get in as we didn’t have access to the gates. The ring didnt work. I had to yell through the gate to a fellow camper to get an employee to let us in. Becky greeted us and she got us situated. It is advertised that the Marta is close. We assumed the train but it was the bus to take to the train station! Nevertheless, our stay was fine with the FHU as promised.

Decent place for a quick over night stay. Within five minutes of the interstate, it was a convenient stop for our travels. We were just looking for something to get us over night and this did the job. Hip camp makes quick work of the reservation while you are in transit. The entry is gated and comes with a lengthy set of instructions and an app to download for easy entry. We did not have time for the app or its setup. But a quick call to Rik got us right in. Once in we had to make another call as we could not figure out where our spot was. But again Rik responded immediately. The whole place is in some state of construction, so be prepared for a construction site. While they are rebuilding, the sites are a little close. But we’ve certainly had closer. We had to back in a 37’ Fifth Wheel and the neighbors were kind enough to move vehicles to make it easier. All in all, this was a decent experience. We may check it out again down the road when their work is done.

Overall, the facility is OK just doesn’t have a watch house a bath house or other amenities needed for smaller units granite I only stayed for a day very nice and friendly neighbors and host

Everything was smooth for our stay! The space felt safe, and we were able to unhook our jeep and park it next to our camper. Their staff member, Becka, stayed late to make sure we got settled in and had everything we needed.

This is a nice place to camp, near the interstate, so it's easy to get pretty much anywhere. It's a quiet fenced-in area with two superwide automatic gates. Using the MyQ app made it easy to go in/out. The side was wide and with 50 amp, water, and sewer.

We had a nice stay — we were warned in advance that the place was in the process of a “soft opening”. The “Hmmm, maybe” review is entirely because it will be nice to see how it develops when they are ready for the real opening. The hosts were very nice and there is a substantial amount of infrastructure in place, so I expect great things!

My husband & I spent 3 nights at Risin’ RV. This is a cozy, urban camping experience. Location is great because you feel as though you’re in the country, however you are minutes from downtown East Atlanta. The community here is at a soft open. There is some construction going on, however it really didn’t interfere with our stay at all. You need to be self-contained to stay here because there are no bathrooms or showers. However, there are full hookups for RVs/trailer camping. The camp has a cat & chickens wandering around & that was really fun. Communication with the camp hosts was easy. The camp is secure & safe. There are 2 security gates & we were given a code for the keypad so we could come & go as we pleased. There was a little bit of road noise, however not significant. We had a quite, peaceful stay at Risin’ RV.

The location, convenience, and safety of this Hipcamp is great. Easy access to bike trails, bike lanes, and the bus system into downtown Atlanta was the closest in the area. Adding and changing dates and times was easy. Having access to the gate codes made coming and going easy, also. The chickens and roosters added a hone spun touch.

Loved the location, we could ride our bikes all the way to the Atlanta Beltline bike trail. Everyone was very nice and helpful. The door to the street was very convenient, also. I loved the chickens and rooster visiting us, especially running to our RV when cooking and the smoke detector went off. Too funny.

Had a great little visit at this RV park, pulling in was easy going and the electric hook ups were as described! Another bonus is that the park did offer us the ability to use their new outdoor shower which had great water pressure and very hot and cold water! It was also very cool to see their creative and handmade approach to everything they have built and are planning on building! Especially hearing their plans of putting a swimming pool on the roof of the big building.

I appreciate the goal that this nonprofit is working towards and was glad to contribute. Overall, the accommodations were perfect for what we needed - just an overnight on our way to New Orleans. I, unfortunately, am a light sleeper and the road noise and the gate opening and closing did not help my issue. Obviously, the owners cannot control the road noise but he did mention trying to resolve the noises coming from the gate so i believe they are doing the best they can with what they have. My husband slept soundly so we would stay there again and maybe I'll bring ear plugs next time :)

Great little spot! They're getting everything up and put together, but I can already tell it's going to be beautiful! The owners are very friendly! Every time we ran into them on the property they asked if we need anything and apologized for the construction mess. Being from a small town in the middle of nowhere, Atlanta scares me! But this campground is surrounded by a coded - entry privacy fence, which made things so much better for me! It also made it feel more "homey".

Just like Rik said. It’s a soft opening. No problem. Otherwise, it’s pretty quiet for Atlanta. And using an app to open the gate means you can open the gate for yourself or your company from a block away.

If you’re driving an RV into Atlanta there isn’t a more hospitable place to stay than Rik’s Risin’ RV. Before arrival Rik was in touch with up to date check-in instructions and on the property when we arrived. The property is safe, very well organized- Rik and his colleagues have put in a ton of work to ensure every visitor feels comfortable and secure within the property confines. Risin’ RV is super convenient to anywhere you’d want to get to in the city. It is on a popular street, with a bus stop across from the property, so one should be aware that this is urban camping and traffic sounds are present. We felt very fortunate though to find a place to park ourselves while visiting Atlanta! Thanks to Rik and all for the very warm welcome and stay we received! We’ll return whenever we travel through Atlanta!

Appreciated the location, the fenced in security and was able to access water & the 15 amp power. Our surge protector wouldn’t work w/the 50 amp as it showed as not grounded, & the rv dump locations were too far away for us to reach w/our Travatos set-up & hose length. Hopefully with the future construction plans will build out this location even further… still worked out great for our quick two night stop to visit the Georgia Aquarium w/a quick Uber. Owner Rik was quickly responsive & promising of future development since it’s still early days… we would be comfortable staying again just understanding things are still be finished on-site.

The listing looks much better in pictures than the actual site and it is in a bad area of town. When we arrived, the gate was closed with no information how to get in. We called the number on the listing and it went to a wrong number. We finally got in after waiting for about 20-30 minutes. Some of the hook ups worked and some didn’t, we had to use other sites hook ups and only 120V worked. The host let us know that we could get a code to enter and leave but the code didn’t work on the door. This site has potential but needs lots of work to be in good condition

This camp is very convenient to Atlanta attractions. Grant Park, the Zoo, Mercedes Benz stadium, and downtown Atlanta all very close. Easy back-in spots with plenty of room for my 33' 5th wheel. The owner/host, Rik, was very attentive to my needs. Oh yeah. You can't beat the price.

Risin’ RV was very impressive in an understated way. They have hand-built most (or maybe all) of the lumber on a massive lumber mill out back. The bays are perfectly level and have very cool log dividers. Rik is super-friendly. and accommodating. I got a very pleasant feeling on the property. Will certainly stay here again!

I stayed overnight in my motorhome because I had an event in Atlanta. The site is under construction which they made clear when I booked. I feel these folks are building something special here. They are super friendly and accommodating. I’ll come back to see the finished product if I’m ever traveling through again.
