St George, GA · 10 sites · Tents, RVs
🏞️🌲 White Sand. Sunny River Days. Oak & Pine Forest. Two States. Southern Country Vibes A private riverfront escape just 40 minutes outside Jacksonville, right on the FL-GA line. 🌿 Welcome to Blackwater Blackwater is a secluded 10+ acre private property on a quiet bend of the St. Marys River, with 150+ acres of protected Florida preserve directly across the river. Located right on the state line at the southernmost edge in Georgia. We intentionally keep Blackwater small, quiet, and private, with plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the river and surrounding woods. And there's something pretty unusual about this place: The Florida–Georgia state line runs right through the river. You can literally swim between two states at once. 🌊 🏝️ The White-Sand River Beach Long before Blackwater was here, this part of Georgia was the ancient coastline. Today, where that old coastal "trail ridge" meets the St. Marys River, you find a soft white private sandbar along a shallow, clean, refreshing, dark blackwater river surrounded by native woods. 🌊 The St. Marys River The St. Marys is a freshwater, rain-fed river flowing from the Okefenokee Swamp. Naturally occurring tannins from peat in the Okefenokee give the deeper water its black color, while the shallows turn a beautiful golden “sweet tea” color. 🏊 Swim it. 🛶 Paddle it. 🎣 Fish it. 🏕️ The Riverfront Pavilion Right at the river's edge is our 70' covered pavilion overlooking the river. It's a place to get out of the sun ☀️, wait out an afternoon rainstorm 🌧️, cook a meal 🍳, play some games 🎲, gather around the fire pit 🔥, or simply sit and watch the river and spot birds as the sun sets. ⚡ Power 💧 Water 💡 Lights 🌀 Fans 🪑 Tables & Chairs 🔥 Grills & Fire Pit 🎲 Games The pavilion is available for small and large private group camping, celebrations, club or troop gatherings, and full-property buyouts. 🔐 Want the Whole Place to Yourself? Full-property private bookings are available. Bring your group, spread out, and enjoy Blackwater as your own private river retreat. For the right group, having the entire property to yourselves changes the experience completely. Your group, the river, and the woods. 🌊🌲 Do Something. Or Nothing at All. 🌲 Your Weekend at Blackwater 🏊 Swim and wade 🛶 Paddle and/or kayak 🎣 River and pond fishing 🥾 Explore our easy walking trails 🐦 Birdwatching 🔥 S’mores and stories around the campfire 🌌 Stargaze under dark skies 🎯 Archery/BB gun practice (we only supply the backstop) 📶 Cell service is limited — a chance to unplug 🦃 Free-ranging friendly turkeys and chickens roam the property 🐕 Dogs are welcome— FREE. 🧭 Want to explore more? 📍 St. Marys Shoals Park — just minutes away 📍 Okefenokee Swamp National Wildlife Refuge — access through Okefenokee Adventures 🌅 Come slow down. 🌿 Welcome to Blackwater, y'all.

We have a 10-acre homestead and would like to share the beauty of the North Georgia Mountains with fellow campers. Please note: we are a farm and have roosters and animals....sorry for the noise but we love our animals. :) Also please note we are a working farm and there are electric fences. As you drive in, you will see a self-serve Farm Stand. We can bring your first load of firewood (if you order any) to your site, if you need more, you can get it at our Farm Stand, but if you would like us to deliver more - just let us know, we want to be accommodating to you. Also available are fresh eggs and other produce! When you drive into the property to access your site, please drive straight to the field along the grassy pathway. We have a clean toilet house. It is located between campsites 3 and 4. Within a couple miles of our property there is mountain biking, hiking, lake access of swimming and boating. Bring your kayak to enjoy seeing Lake Nottely! We live on the property, and it is a working homestead. We have chickens (roosters crowing too, sometimes in early hours - sorry about that). We ask that you keep your dogs *at your camp site at all times* (we have had camper's dogs run through the field at us and scare us to pieces and we'd rather not experience that again! lol) Enjoy the sounds of the creek and put your tent on level land. We have firepits at each camp site. Firewood is available for purchase, just send us a message. We can deliver to your campsite. We also have tables and chairs for rent. We have farm fresh eggs! They are unwashed so no refrigeration needed. Need something else? Let us know, we want you to have the best, memorable stay ever! Just an FYI that cell service can be a little spotty, sorry about that! Gotta love mountain life! We hope you will choose our property and enjoy your stay! Please contact Tim with any questions!

We own a small farm on 64 total acres with around 59 wooded. We have 4 primitive camping sites with lots of woods, wildlife, and two small creeks. We are even located on a short dirt road to give you that country feel. All of our sites are spread out from one another and you will feel secluded in the woods with nature. On our farm are free range chickens, peacocks, goats and a donkey in a pasture, turkeys (wild and domesticated), honeybees (in the field), and a few outdoor cats. We enjoy our animals and nature. We want to share this experience with others so we have decided to rent a few camping spots that we have shared over the years with our children. Enjoy the peaceful nights and the sounds of nature and star lit skies. In the daytime check out our farm animals, walk the trails, or explore the woods. Guest are welcome to pet and feed the animals if they choose. We have a working farm with sweeping views of Lookout mountain and only 12 minutes from all the comforts of downtown Chattanooga. Our expansive 120-acre property provides campers with the freedom to choose their camping spots anywhere on the farm. Farm animals include horses, cattle, hogs, chickens, goats, bees, stocked ponds, gardens and much more. We have strategically placed signs throughout the property to help you identify potential neighbors. If you desire the company of ducks, consider setting up camp near our picturesque duck pond. For those who prefer the rustic crowing of roosters to a phone alarm, we have four chicken coops dispersed across the farm. Our horses freely roam the front pastures. The cows enjoy grazing on lush grass and taking refreshing dips in the ponds. They also relish watching the sunset from the hill's vantage point, as it offers the best view on the farm. We are a working farm with staff tending to various jobs throughout the day. We have a map to show where the camping site sits on the property. We intentionally leave some of our fields uncut. In some fields, the grass can come up above the knees. We leave that to the animals to take care of. All of our staff are super friendly and happy to help guide you to the best camping spot and answer any questions. In searching for your campsite please note that there may be livestock in and around certain areas as we rotate pastures. Potable well water can be located from the blue spigot outside of the staff housing area, in between the orange and green tiny home, and outside the outdoor shower. Embracing farm life is not just an adventure but also a valuable learning opportunity, whether you're a family or an individual seeking a taste of the countryside lifestyle. We hope to see you soon on the farm!

Georgia camping guide

Where to go

Atlanta & North Georgia

The north Georgia mountains provide some of the state’s best camping and hiking terrain, including part of the Appalachian Trail. The vast Chattahoochee National Forest is dotted with historic sites and campgrounds, while cascading waterfalls, RV camping, and glampsites await at Amicalola Falls State Park. Canyon hikes and waterfalls are among the highlights at Tallulah Gorge State park and Cloudland Canyon State Park (the latter also has yurts for rent), and Red Top Mountain State Park lies less than an hour from the state capital, Atlanta.

Central Heartlands

Augusta, Athens, and Macon have a rich musical legacy—artists from James Brown to Otis Redding hail from these parts—plus some of Georgia’s best camping right on their doorstep. Head to Mistletoe State Park to hike, kayak, and fish on the shores of Clarkes Hill Lake; snag an RV campsite or cabin at George L. Smith State Park; or rent a cozy cottage at Indian Springs State Park.

South Georgia

Rolling farmlands form the backdrop for a road trip through South Georgia, perhaps checking into an RV park in one of the many small towns along the way. The region’s most impressive hiking trails are found in Providence Canyon State Park, along with backcountry tent sites, while Stephen C. Foster State Park is an International Dark Sky Park and a wildlife haven set on the banks of the Okefenokee Swamp.

Coastal Georgia

Georgia’s 100-mile slice of Atlantic coastline stretches down from Savannah to Cumberland Island, peppered with sandy beaches, saltwater marshes, and barrier islands. Rent a camper cabin or RV site with full hookups close to the beaches and waterways of Skidaway Island State Park, explore the biking trails or take a dolphin-spotting cruise around Tybee Island, or escape the crowds at the hike-in campsites along the Cumberland Island National Seashore.
