Come join us at this unforgettable camping spot at Historic Castleberry Bridge where the Gold Rush happened, the Indian fish trap still exist, the birth place of Denver Colorado and the hideout of Jesse James just some of the history that happened at your campsite on the Etowah River. Our motto is "Thanks for keeping it clean," so help us spread the word and keep it true! Look for the gate at Castleberry Bridge Rd (right where the bridge crosses the river) and drive through the gate and left and George (owner) should be there. He will open the second gate for you where you will be able to drive through and park at your site - weather permitting. To the left of the first gate is the community area with toilet, grills, picnic tables, etc. Remember, your phone might not work near the river. If you need help, you might have to go back up to the road to call us. George (the owner) is there most every day and all day. There's so much fun waiting for you to explore! Tubes are available for a $10 charge per day. If you're feeling extra adventurous, there are rope swings that let you swing over the river, and there are super cool places to splash around and swim, part of which, is in the Indian Fish Trap. When your tummy starts rumbling, don't worry. We've got you covered with grills in the community area where you can cook delicious food. So you can have a tasty meal with the sound of the river flowing in the background. Also we are within 5-10 minutes to stores, restaurant , etc. But wait, there's more excitement! If you're looking for an even bigger adventure, this is the perfect spot to begin an awesome kayaking trip if you brought your kayak. Castleberry Bridge is where people from all over the country come to experience going through the Miner's Tunnel. So whether you want to float, swing, swim, or paddle, Castleberry Bridge is the place to be for all kinds of outdoor fun! Camping price is for 2 adults. Kids under 13 camp free. Running Water Creek is a unique, fully off grid campground just 20 minutes to downtown Chattanooga. We have 80+ campsites spread out over 120 acres. Most of the roads are accessible in any small car, but some roads require 4x4 (they're marked with a sign). We have a bath house with toilets, showers, and sinks and even offer hot water! Our well and cabins are all solar-powered as we are not on the electric grid. Some info about the property: -we DO NOT have water or power hookups -we have gravel roads with a 5 MPH speed limit on the property (if you drive too fast the roads will seem rough) -we are right next to a highway and train tracks so there will be some noise (some days are better than others and we have no way of predicting how many trains will/will not go by) -none of our campsites have picnic tables (please plan accordingly) -most campsites have fire rings built, but if you choose a site without one you need to build your own

Lizardsniffer is a working horse farm with a variety of rental cabins and RV slips. We DO allow tent camping. Each RV slip has water, septic, 50 amp service and Wifi. An Amenities Cabin is provided for use by all RV site guests. The cabin includes a full-sized washer/dryer, a full bathroom with bidet, and an oversized jacuzzi tub. Guests must sign-up for a 4-hour timeslot. The cabin is available for use between the hours of 8am-8pm. Many of our RV sites feature private fenced paddocks for people bringing their horses or dogs. Horse visitors require all current paperwork (Coggins, etc.). Dog visitors must be social and friendly and thus are allowed to explore the farm with their owners off-leash if desired. The property includes miles of trails for hiking, biking, or horseback riding. Bring your own horse or experienced riders may be able to ride one of ours (subject to weight/experience matching with a horse). There is a small private stocked lake open to all guests of Lizardsniffer for fishing and swimming. We took our family of four in a 36’ RV to Lizardsniffer last week and had the time of our lives. We are grateful that Oar 4 ended up being a pull-through site. The kids went swimming and kayaking while we used the paddle boats on the lake. We got such good rest during our visit and enjoyed the dark skies for watching the meteor shower! Ask Lisa to meet the horses and you will not be disappointed. We will certainly be back!

We loved this campsite and so did our dogs! It’s small and quiet. This is definitely the spot we’re staying at whenever we come through Savannah! Pros: - small, quiet - shaded - 25 min from downtown Savannah (awesome nightlife and food) - pet friendly Cons: - The laundry is $3 w a card reader for the both the washer and dryer. And it’s not super big either. To do 2 people’s worth of towels, sheets, and clothes, it took 4 loads. So total it was about $24 for one week of laundry. - check out policy is a little crazy, but if you can make it out by 11am on the dot then you’re ok

Very basic. Water hookup 30amp and sewer connection. The site is the front yard of the residential property next to a very under used road. So road/car noise was not an issue. In fact for the 2 nights we stayed it was comfortable, quiet and felt safe. Our rig is 20ft. And it fit perfectly. It’s probably a tight fit for a 24 footer. Steven was very receptive and responded to questions via text quickly. Everything was nearby. Very convenient place to hang and explore Savannah. I would do it again!

Exactly what I needed when stopping by on our way during a big move, brough the dog along and it was quiet so she didn’t bark! The bathrooms are a short walk away with hot shower!

The campground is very clean and well kept. The view was nice as well. It’s the perfect place to stop to break up a long road trip. I met one of the long term campers and he was extremely nice and spoke very highly of the owners.

this site is amazing and exactly as advertised. we stayed 2 nights with our 3 boys (mini schnauzers) and enjoyed every second. it was too hot to be outside for too long but in the fall this would be even more ideal. great lake view, peaceful and away from all noise except nature. look forward to visiting again.

Weekend Trip to Herzen Platz (a place in the Heart)

I can’t recommend Mr. Gary’s site enough! My boyfriend and I had such a lovely time, and he was a gracious host. This was our first time glamping (we normally camp primitive), and it felt like absolute luxury. The bed was comfortable, there was plenty of seating, and the access to electricity was a huge plus. The sound of the bubbling brook beside the camp was so nice to fall asleep to. The location is great because it is peaceful and secluded, but it’s also 10 minutes away from the Main Street of Helen. It’s an ideal location if you want to enjoy the quiet and relax in nature while still having the option to easily participate in civilization. It rained intermittently during our stay, but it did not affect the fun we had one bit. We stayed cozy and clean, especially with access to a hot shower! We did have to fight the mosquitos a bit due to the humid, rainy weather, which would have been no issue if we hadn’t forgotten to pack bug spray. So just remember to pack your bug spray and you will be all right! And don’t sleep on the breakfast menu and other fun packages the host offers. Breakfast was incredible and definitely made with love. It really added to the experience and made our anniversary trip even more special. We can’t wait to come back again! Thank you for such a wonderful experience.
