We have walking trails, a pond where you can kayak, relax on the dock, or feed the huge fish (sorry no fishing allowed.) Also, on our property, there are swings, a tree house deck, obstacle course, fire pit area, wooden bridge, picnic table, and abundant bird life. There's also plenty of wide-open space where you can play frisbee, run, do yoga, and stargaze at night.
There's plenty to do in this area, using the farm as your base. Claxton, our hometown, is a great friendly, small-town with grocery and hardware stores and restaurants. Many guests like to side-trip over to the towns of Statesboro, Metter, Vidalia, and Savannah, plus the Golden Isles.

The Neature Preserve (formerly known as "Tabby's Trees") consists of 74 acres made up mostly of pine forest situated in the coastal plain. A creek runs along the western boundary of the property with an ephemeral (seasonal) wetland to the southwest. The overstory of the forest is dominated by loblolly and slash pine with a few longleaf pine sprinkled in, as well as turkey oak, live oak, laurel oak, and sweetgum. We have ~1.5 miles of trails that wind through a variety of ecosystems (trails can hiked or biked). The property has three primitive camping sites. Two of the sites are for tent camping only (where you would park your car along the hiking trail and then follow a separate path to get to the campsite), with one site that has enough space to park multiple cars or small camper right at the campsite.
The Neature Preserve is all about restoring native habitat! Prescribed fire is used at The Preserve to safely and efficiently restore and maintain productive ecosystems and to support our native plant and animal species. Michael and Kimberly Duke bought a small cabin on the Canoochee River to enjoy as a family.
They decided to list it on a vacation rental site.
As this property was in full demand, another property became available to buy.
As interest began to increase, the family decided open up the options for their visitors.
At this current date, they have four cabins and a yurt, as well as, tent sites. We are excited about the yurt that was completed in August 2019. They are looking forward having another cabin in the near future.

Our stay at the alpaca farm was great! It was really peaceful with the pond right there. Our hosts told us all about the alpacas and donkeys, and we enjoyed playing some board games on the covered porch. We were worried about rain, but this was the perfect campsite for potential bad weather because of the large porch! We will definitely return!

We loved camping on Ricki’s property! We booked the field & pond site, which was very beautiful. It was a bit warm down by the water so we asked to move to higher ground between the large growth trees and the breeze & sunset was so nice from that spot. Ricki was so nice and accommodating, she brought us fresh eggs and homemade jam, which were both very delicious. We loved getting to walk around the property after our long drive and see the farm animals, including the newly born calf! This place was a magical little gem & we’ll definitely will be back when in the area again!

Clean site, quiet, power only 50 amp plug bring adapter if you have 30amp , water, sewer good.. must haul trash out with you. But not an issue. The cover and concrete pad was great. I had to back in from the main road with 26ft toy hauler fit fine with one sideout. Full rig is 43ft long.

We overall enjoyed our time! The spot was very secluded so that was a pro. We were able to walk over by the bathhouse to sit and fish. Only negative is that the picnic table was completely destroyed upon arrival and the river was low and kayaking wouldn’t have been possible if it was high either.

We loved tent camping at the pond!
Perfect for a nice quiet getaway.
There's plenty of trees for a shady spot with a steel fire pit and some cleared brush behind the pond to pick out firewood.
There's lots of wildlife and farm animals to see and plenty of space to walk.
It was a great place to train our dog off leash as well.
There are several dogs that live across the far side of the pond that were loud at times, but not too often.
One of the funniest parts of the stay was hearing a loud "bloop" in the night when the local beaver jumped off the dock.
Overall a serene and beautiful stay.
