PLEASE READ ALL THIS BEFORE BOOKING.....This is a recreation area, NOT A CAMPGROUND. You have access to 44 acres in the mountains of North Georgia, on Tallulah River. Trout fishing, camping in beautiful Rabun County. Lot's of outdoor activities in the area. Forest Service land, and more nearby. This is not a campground, but a private Recreation Area on 43.7 acres on Tallulah River, which we love to share. Yes, there is a house here an there along the border. People choose to camp in the easy to access area, instead of hiking out to more seclude places on the property. So if you have a problem with the house being there across from the "sweet spot" please just choose a different place to spot. I find it so funny people want to come to secluded and be able to DRIVE TO IT, with no other people around. It is mostly secluded, but people do live around here, and a few houses border this property. People have actually given us bad reviews because of this. Hike in and camp away if it bothers you that someone lives across the river. And yes, there are chickens, foxes, coyotes, bears. Yes there is a road. Yes, they cut the trees down along the road to build the new bridge. Yes I have planted trees, and it will be more private as these grow. All this being said, please read on... This is rural neighborhood in Persimmon Community, Georgia. There are neighbors. Act accordingly, the few who do not! We are a few miles from NC line, and about 20 or so from SC line, in the most Northeast corner of Georgia. We are blessed with mountains, water, and a great community. 43.7 acres access, 1,000 feet of Tallulah River frontage (actually, property line is down the middle of the river), there is a nice road to the place, and a field and Tallulah River...... You can drive into the field, have fun in the river, and camp, build a fire, do whatever you like in our space. If you don't like being close to the very nice neighbors across from the car accesable spot, the camp further up the field, or pack by foot up the mountain. We are NOT a campground. We have no fixed sites. The fire pits were made by campers, not by me (the owner.) People have actually complained to me that there are neighbors across the river. CAMP AWAY FROM THERE IF IT BOTHERS YOU. And yes, they have chickens, that will wake you at dawn... Yes, there is a road. Yes there is a field. No, there are no fixed campsites. We are not a campground. We leave you alone. We will try to answer questions, but I do not sit by the phone. This is just us sharing access to the land. We want to preserve this like this, for as long as we can. I genuinely want to share this place. But that being said, I would rather not interface with campers. I live in the middle of nowhere for a reason. I assume you want to visit the middle of nowhere to be left alone. This is what I will do. I do my best to keep this going, and open to being shared. That's my job. But I am not going to find you stuff to do, watch the calendar, or whatever. Just look up THINGS TO DO IN RABUN COUNTY. DON'T TRESPASS ON NEIGHBORS' LAND If people come on the land while you are here, THEY are trespassing. I try to keep it private, but there is the occasional interloper who wanders on. Just tell them you have it lease, it is private. I am sorry for this. People are, well.... PEOPLE.... There is 44 acres here. Over 1,000 feet of river frontage. There is great fishing here. Please respect the property lines. We love our neighbors, and they love us. We want to keep it this way. Be aware that the property if BELOW the bridge, all the way back to the old cabin. That next branch is the property line. I will try and provide a plat, or map so you will be aware of the lines. There is also plenty of public property in Rabun County. Rabun County is 65% US Forest Service land. If 44 private acres isn't enough, then check out some of the wonderful public places around here. Look in photos for plat of the property. You agree to not trespass. Also, property line is down the middle of the river. Please don't trespass across the river. For exact direction put this exact string into Google Maps: VFX6+M7 Clayton, Georgia We are also pet-friendly, so long as your animal is well behaved. And while we are at it, please do not do doughnuts in the hay field. Every young kid from Athens seems to want to tear up the hay field. Please don't! We expect it to be left mostly like it was. Thanks! There are 44 acres here on Tallulah River. Come camp wherever you want on here. That's it. Lot's of photos on here. Let's of people with 100 questions! Hopefully they are all answered here. Please, be aware it is just a piece of land in the mountains of North Georgia. Help us preserve it for your use! Enjoy it! Leave it like you found it! All happy! But please be aware that when rain comes, the river can rise quickly. We try to be aware, but you need to stay aware. This is on a flood plain, so it does flood sometimes, and fast. BE AWARE and Stay safe. Our mission is to preserve this beautiful mountain land the way it is, and to share it with people who will enjoy, appreciate, and take care of it. FACILITIES We don't have regular facilities. But we do offer nice new camp toilet for $22. You are expected to either bring your own camp toilet, and bag your waste out, or you can buy a toilet bucket and some plastic bags, and cat litter. This is a brand new unopened toilet lid and a brand new 5 gallon bucket. Bring some cat litter, and some bags to line the bucket, and some Ziploc bags to put this in and seal. The cost of a bucket potty is $22 NO MORE KITTY TRENCHES. You are expected to remove your waste and put it in your trash each time you use it. This is for consideration of others. IF YOU LEAVE TRASH YOU WILL BE CHARGED $50 FOR CLEANUP. IF YOU LEAVE HUMAN WASTE, YOU WILL BE CHARGED $500 FOR CLEANUP.......... I am only saying this because as we get more experience, we learn what people are actually capable of. Most people are very good about everything. But there have been a few people who actually expected me to clean up their waste, and then they gave me a bad review, etc. I am a decent guy. I will share my million dollar property with you for $40 a night. I will leave you alone. But please.... PLEASE... don't expect me to clean up after you. And when I do have to clean up after you, please don't curse me, divert, give excuses. If you camp here you are expected to be decent, and treat me decently. This is only for that 1%... Thanks. We have owned this property since 2005. The pond is a favorite place of ours and we would love to share it with you!! We live just up the mountain are here for you via text if you need anything at all during your stay with us. The pond is in the middle of about a 4 acre area that is totally forested & makes a great place to get away from the madness of life & get into nature. Our street ends in a cul-de-sac, minimizing traffic in the area, but the spot is right along a street. You will be able to see & hear cars going by the site. On the other hand, it is also right along a deer path & just this morning I saw 2 does & a baby walking through the site. There is a resident hawk & a gaggle of turkeys that live in the area in addition to pileated woodpeckers & all sorts of other birds. Come check it out and please let us know if you have any questions. Learn more about this land: We would love to have you at the Pond at Dogwood Acres. Our pond is just a little pond, but it is full of life and makes for a cozy little campsite. You will be the only ones camping here. There is a long parking spot suitable for cars/SUVs/trucks and even a trailer or pop up.  There are hiking trails leading into the woods at the right side of the end of the drive. Feel free to enjoy them. We are surrounded by the Chattahoochee National Forest and here in Towns County we are 80% National Forest. Lake Chatuge is close by (less than 10 minutes) in Hiawassee has 132 miles of shoreline. The Appalachian Trail weaves all through the area and you can get to numerous access points for the AT within about 30 minutes. There are a many waterfalls throughout our area within about a 30 minute drive as well. The closest is Cupid Falls just behind Young Harris College. Fire's Creek in Hayesville is a favorite spot. Otherwise you can head towards Vogel State Park and find many more.  Head north on state road 66 heading out of Young Harris towards Warne, North Carolina. Travel almost 4 miles passing 339 and then make a right on Brasstown Lane. If you see mile marker 4 or get to Warne, you passed it. Once you turn onto Brasstown Lane it will be on the right side. Coming from North Carolina head south on 66 out of Warne and make a left onto Brasstown Lane. We are about 1 mile south of the North Carolina state line. We are somewhat in the middle of Blairsville (GA), Hiawassee (GA) and Hayeville (NC).  Not far from us is the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC and just a bit further is Murphy, NC.  34'58'45.1"N 83'52'49.7"W On a larger scale, we are right in the middle of and about 2 hours from Atlanta, Asheville and Chattanooga. Any questions? Let us know!  Note- this campsite is on a residential street. Our street has a cul-de-sac and does not have much traffic, but there are houses in the vicinity of the campsite.

Our Old Tobacco Farm has been in the family for generations, hence "Barnett Road". Currently we just grow organic veggies in our high tunnel greenhouse and the old tobacco fields now are used for hay production and a safe haven for a large herd of deer. Property History: Coweeta Creek Campground WAS a 20 site, thriving, family/church oriented campground from the 1970's that was later sold, then neglected. We just retired from Active Duty Air Force! My ancestors have owned the land our NC cabins sit on since 1836. In fact, my mother grew up there after my Grandfather returned from WWII when there was no electricity and the outhouse was a bench over the creek. I grew up hiking the mountains with my brothers and our BB guns and my Uncle Frank at our family reunions. In 2005 he deeded us a parcel of land and we built our first cabin - Smawlie. We love to come to the cabin and Hike the trails on our own property, and of course, the world famous ones that join them, namely the Bartram and the Appalachian Trails. As you explore the lake, the trails, the rivers, and the mountain roads you'll see why our ancestors settled here. In 2018 - we bought the remainder of Uncle Frank's land - and in his honor built our second cabin - Frank's Landing. Also in that year I started managing my brother Bill's cabin. When we were stationed in Alaska for 6 heavenly years - we purchased a remote parcel of property and have slowly begun to develop it. We just completed building our cabin there. My family and I stayed at campsite number one. The scenery is beautiful and the whole park is very clean and well laid out. We loved that there was a good amount of space and privacy between the sites. The creek is very soothing and beautiful. It was very convenient having seasoned firewood and fresh farm eggs available to purchase on site. The eggs were delicious and the chickens greet you every time you walk to the bathhouse. Speaking of the bath house it was very clean and the showers were nice and hot with plenty of water pressure. There is an ingles 11 minutes away to stock up on food. There is also a beautiful easy trail 6 minutes away called Tessentee bottomlands preserve. Adam was a very welcoming and attentive host. I would definitely suggest this campground for anyone looking to have a peaceful, private camping experience.

A great spot. The rooster will wake you up that the neighbors have, but that will be the least of your issues as you enjoy the river. The fire pit may need to be scooped out upon arrival It’s fantastic to be able to camp in the hills/mountains and not fight camp grounds.

Site 1 is beautiful. It sits right on the edge of the creek. The sounds of the water flowing over the rocks nearby were so peaceful. The property is quiet and well-maintained. The bathhouse was exceptionally clean, and the showers have fantastic water pressure. Owners are very nice and came out to say hello to us. Ten out of ten, and am already planning a return trip for the springtime.

The picnic table is super lightweight and can be moved based on how you camp. It is on the flattest spot so if you sleep in a tent you can move the table to the other side of the fire pit and pitch your tent where the table is.

11/10 ! absolutely loved this quaint spot. we saw a few deer and a wild turkey during our short stay. the little library out front was such a highlight and made my partner and i feel so welcomed. we definitely want to come back again. it was my partner’s first time camping and she enjoyed herself so much. we also visited vogel state park which was a 30 min drive and worth it. highly recommend. thank you megan :)

We camped at Brass Camp it is above Johnsonville and the Glass House site. Nice plot to camp 3500 elevation, it’s level, had moss growing to cushion the ground. We had a 12ft 4 season tent with a 12ft rain fly we used as a porch and it fight just right with a lot of land left in front. You are next to a local road but traffic is pretty sparse. The Farm is really something , and is a working farm it has all the noises from the roaster to the donkey and ducks, it was pleasant to sit and listen. Amenities are very taken care of, bathhouse was great with hot showers and toilets , the Camp store was great with the kitchen sink area to wash up the dishes and potable water to refill your tanks. Stacey was great with our order for a pallet of wood making sure it was taken care of and onsite, I would have liked to take Greg up on visiting the farm and taking a look at the Mill they have onsite but stormy weather and snow held us back. We will return!

We have camped here the last 3 Novembers and it is always a great, relaxing time. From the super friendly, laid back, informative workers at the distillery, to the very sweet store workers, the workers here are amazing! Very open to the public, including being able to pet the cows and horses and feed them apples. We camp down by the lake, set up a bonfire and tent and enjoy nature. Lots of yummy wine and pickled fruits and veggies to buy from the store.

4 nights at Secluded Waterfall Haven

We've been waiting for so long for our trip to Waterfall Heaven, and when our time to pack was getting closer, the weather was showing rain for the whole week we were supposed to be there... That was a little discouraging because we camp with 8 dogs and 2 crazy boys in a tent and I was worried everything will be way too wet and dirty and cold but I was not going to let this gem of a place go 😂 and what an amazing beautiful and serene place this spot is! The weather didn't matter, we had fun and the boys were in the water every day (even in 48°f), the dogs had so much space to run and sniff and explore and we even got a chance to do some activities in nearby towns (Stumphouse Tunnel in nearby city of Wallhala, SC and Foxfire Museum near the campsite was amazing)! What saved us was the fact we were able to put our 10x18 tent under the huge wooden gazebo right by the waterfall (you need to remove the tables first and they are heavy!) and that kept our tent dry inside and out. The cooking area under the smaller gazebo was perfect for us preparing meals in the rain (we've put one of the tables there and were able to stay dry while eating). The hike up the hill to see the bigger waterfall is worth the view and not having cellphone reception or internet at the campsite was the best break I secretly wished for 😂 We have another trip booked in March 2026 and I'm hoping I'll be able to also score a week in summer 2027!
