I purchased this property in 2016 from the estate of Robert Masters. Mr. Master's and his family lived on this property since 1957 in the small red brick house at the road, Green Shutters Cottage, an Airbnb/VRBO. He raised chickens and cattle. The cows are the reason this property looks the way it does with it's magnificent trees. I suspect this piece of property has had cattle on it for 100+ years. Mr. Masters worked at the Historic Habersham Mill down the road as did many of the locals. I have named the farm, Sole Farm. (Sole is Italian for Sun) The house on the hill, my home, is the Villa del Sole. I look forward to having you come and enjoy this beautiful piece of land I call home. Learn more about this land: COVID-19: None of the camp sites are even in sight of one another. The sights are large enough so that you and your fellow campers can social distance from one another. I certainly respect your wishes and will social distance while packing you into your site with the tractor.  You will pull into 495 Habersham Mill Rd, Green Shutter Cottage. There is a gravel drive that goes down behind Green Shutters Cottage. There is a Hip Camp sign pointing the way. I will pick you up there with the tractor to pack you in and I will pack you out as well. Vehicles are NOT allowed on the property. You WILL get stuck. Please be courteous and respect my time and let me know when you are going to arrive so that I can be available to assist you. A breathtaking view of the distant mountains greets you as you come on to the property as well as the majestic Villa del Sole, a Tuscan style villa on top of the hill, my home. The land drops away into rolling pastures dotted with ancient trees, some 300+!. The woodlands are filled with wildlife that surround the property where you are completely isolated from the world. There are two creeks that border each side of the property and join together and flow into Lake Habersham then into the Soque, the top trophy trout stream in the southeast. The water in these streams is pure. Please respect this and bring Earth friendly soap for washing dishes. I recommend Dr. Bonner's Pure castile soap. There is a creek by each camp site. The Woodland sites and the Meadow both have streams, fire pits, benches and latrines. I will pack you into and out of your site with the tractor. I do not allow vehicles on the property. You can walked to the sites if you like. I do welcome well behaved dogs. I have two that live here with me, Buster and Rufus. They will probably come pay a visit at some point.  Depending on where you want to camp there are three possible campsites to choose from: The Meadow, 2 to 24 campers and, The Woodland site, 2 to 8, The Head Waters, 2 to 6 campers.  The Head Waters site is down next to the creek and next to a meadow, very secluded, no latrine. The Meadow is best for larger groups of 8 or more. It is is a medium size meadow with flat ground suitable for spacing a number of tents out. There is a fire pit, grill/grate and three benches. It also has a creek and a latrine. The Woodland site is suitable for 2 to 8 campers but is a bit limited on places to pitch tents. It too has a fire pit, grill/grate, benches, and a latrine. It is by far the prettiest site. It's possible to sit in the creek in areas during hot weather(shallow water and COLD!. You are not completely disconnected from the world here(WIFI) but far enough away to feel isolated and private. In the bottoms, you are nestled in the woods and can see nothing around you but forest, not even the Villa and not the other campers in the meadow. You see no neighbors, houses, lights, etc. Stargazing from on top of the hill is not to be missed. I recommend Sky Watch app. Clarkesville is close by. Ingles is close by for forgotten supplies or a Starbucks fix. Yonah Cafe is great for breakfast and specialty coffees This is a small town, rural area, quiet and slow. There is plenty more to do if you just want Sole Farm camp as a base. Tallulah Gorge is 20 minutes to the north and hiking at Panther Creek.  Alpine Helen is a 20 minute drive Many good hiking opps are close by, waterfalls, thrifting. The Chattahoochee is good for canoeing, kayaking and swimming. There are several stables that offer trail rides close by. You are allowed to walk all over the property using the mown paths but please respect the other campers and my privacy. I will be respecting yours.

If there is dangerous weather, flood watch, tornado, etc. I will be happy to refund the time we were under this watch.... PLEASE READ ALL THIS BEFORE BOOKING.....This is a recreation area, NOT A CAMPGROUND. You have access to 44 acres in the mountains of North Georgia, on Tallulah River. Trout fishing, camping in beautiful Rabun County. Lot's of outdoor activities in the area. Forest Service land, and more nearby. This is not a campground, but a private Recreation Area on 43.7 acres on Tallulah River, which we love to share. Yes, there is a house here an there along the border. People choose to camp in the easy to access area, instead of hiking out to more seclude places on the property. So if you have a problem with the house being there across from the "sweet spot" please just choose a different place to spot. I find it so funny people want to come to secluded and be able to DRIVE TO IT, with no other people around. It is mostly secluded, but people do live around here, and a few houses border this property. People have actually given us bad reviews because of this. Hike in and camp away if it bothers you that someone lives across the river. And yes, there are chickens, foxes, coyotes, bears. Yes there is a road. Yes, they cut the trees down along the road to build the new bridge. Yes I have planted trees, and it will be more private as these grow. All this being said, please read on... This is rural neighborhood in Persimmon Community, Georgia. There are neighbors. Act accordingly, the few who do not! We are a few miles from NC line, and about 20 or so from SC line, in the most Northeast corner of Georgia. We are blessed with mountains, water, and a great community. 43.7 acres access, 1,000 feet of Tallulah River frontage (actually, property line is down the middle of the river), there is a nice road to the place, and a field and Tallulah River...... You can drive into the field, have fun in the river, and camp, build a fire, do whatever you like in our space. If you don't like being close to the very nice neighbors across from the car accesable spot, the camp further up the field, or pack by foot up the mountain. We are NOT a campground. We have no fixed sites. The fire pits were made by campers, not by me (the owner.) People have actually complained to me that there are neighbors across the river. CAMP AWAY FROM THERE IF IT BOTHERS YOU. And yes, they have chickens, that will wake you at dawn... Yes, there is a road. Yes there is a field. No, there are no fixed campsites. We are not a campground. We leave you alone. We will try to answer questions, but I do not sit by the phone. This is just us sharing access to the land. We want to preserve this like this, for as long as we can. I genuinely want to share this place. But that being said, I would rather not interface with campers. I live in the middle of nowhere for a reason. I assume you want to visit the middle of nowhere to be left alone. This is what I will do. I do my best to keep this going, and open to being shared. That's my job. But I am not going to find you stuff to do, watch the calendar, or whatever. Just look up THINGS TO DO IN RABUN COUNTY. DON'T TRESPASS ON NEIGHBORS' LAND If people come on the land while you are here, THEY are trespassing. I try to keep it private, but there is the occasional interloper who wanders on. Just tell them you have it lease, it is private. I am sorry for this. People are, well.... PEOPLE.... There is 44 acres here. Over 1,000 feet of river frontage. There is great fishing here. Please respect the property lines. We love our neighbors, and they love us. We want to keep it this way. Be aware that the property if BELOW the bridge, all the way back to the old cabin. That next branch is the property line. I will try and provide a plat, or map so you will be aware of the lines. There is also plenty of public property in Rabun County. Rabun County is 65% US Forest Service land. If 44 private acres isn't enough, then check out some of the wonderful public places around here. Look in photos for plat of the property. You agree to not trespass. Also, property line is down the middle of the river. Please don't trespass across the river. For exact direction put this exact string into Google Maps: VFX6+M7 Clayton, Georgia We are also pet-friendly, so long as your animal is well behaved. And while we are at it, please do not do doughnuts in the hay field. Every young kid from Athens seems to want to tear up the hay field. Please don't! We expect it to be left mostly like it was. Thanks! There are 44 acres here on Tallulah River. Come camp wherever you want on here. That's it. Lot's of photos on here. Let's of people with 100 questions! Hopefully they are all answered here. Please, be aware it is just a piece of land in the mountains of North Georgia. Help us preserve it for your use! Enjoy it! Leave it like you found it! All happy! But just beware that there are NO REFUNDS unless more than 30 days before the booking dates. THE RIVER Tallulah River has great atmosphere, trout fishing, and more. But please be aware that when rain comes, the river can rise quickly. We try to be aware, but you need to stay aware. This is on a flood plain, so it does flood sometimes, and fast. BE AWARE and Stay safe. Our mission is to preserve this beautiful mountain land the way it is, and to share it with people who will enjoy, appreciate, and take care of it. FACILITIES We don't have regular facilities. But we do offer nice new camp toilet for $22. You are expected to either bring your own camp toilet, and bag your waste out, or you can buy a toilet bucket and some plastic bags, and cat litter. This is a brand new unopened toilet lid and a brand new 5 gallon bucket. Bring some cat litter, and some bags to line the bucket, and some Ziploc bags to put this in and seal. The cost of a bucket potty is $22 NO MORE KITTY TRENCHES. You are expected to remove your waste and put it in your trash each time you use it. This is for consideration of others. IF YOU LEAVE TRASH YOU WILL BE CHARGED $50 FOR CLEANUP. IF YOU LEAVE HUMAN WASTE, YOU WILL BE CHARGED $500 FOR CLEANUP.......... I am only saying this because as we get more experience, we learn what people are actually capable of. Most people are very good about everything. But there have been a few people who actually expected me to clean up their waste, and then they gave me a bad review, etc. I am a decent guy. I will share my million dollar property with you for $40 a night. I will leave you alone. But please.... PLEASE... don't expect me to clean up after you. And when I do have to clean up after you, please don't curse me, divert, give excuses. If you camp here you are expected to be decent, and treat me decently. This is only for that 1%... Thanks. We have owned this property since 2005. The pond is a favorite place of ours and we would love to share it with you!! We live just up the mountain are here for you via text if you need anything at all during your stay with us. The pond is in the middle of about a 4 acre area that is totally forested & makes a great place to get away from the madness of life & get into nature. Our street ends in a cul-de-sac, minimizing traffic in the area, but the spot is right along a street. You will be able to see & hear cars going by the site. On the other hand, it is also right along a deer path & just this morning I saw 2 does & a baby walking through the site. There is a resident hawk & a gaggle of turkeys that live in the area in addition to pileated woodpeckers & all sorts of other birds. Come check it out and please let us know if you have any questions. Learn more about this land: We would love to have you at the Pond at Dogwood Acres. Our pond is just a little pond, but it is full of life and makes for a cozy little campsite. You will be the only ones camping here. There is a long parking spot suitable for cars/SUVs/trucks and even a trailer or pop up.  There are hiking trails leading into the woods at the right side of the end of the drive. Feel free to enjoy them. We are surrounded by the Chattahoochee National Forest and here in Towns County we are 80% National Forest. Lake Chatuge is close by (less than 10 minutes) in Hiawassee has 132 miles of shoreline. The Appalachian Trail weaves all through the area and you can get to numerous access points for the AT within about 30 minutes. There are a many waterfalls throughout our area within about a 30 minute drive as well. The closest is Cupid Falls just behind Young Harris College. Fire's Creek in Hayesville is a favorite spot. Otherwise you can head towards Vogel State Park and find many more.  Head north on state road 66 heading out of Young Harris towards Warne, North Carolina. Travel almost 4 miles passing 339 and then make a right on Brasstown Lane. If you see mile marker 4 or get to Warne, you passed it. Once you turn onto Brasstown Lane it will be on the right side. Coming from North Carolina head south on 66 out of Warne and make a left onto Brasstown Lane. We are about 1 mile south of the North Carolina state line. We are somewhat in the middle of Blairsville (GA), Hiawassee (GA) and Hayeville (NC).  Not far from us is the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC and just a bit further is Murphy, NC.  34'58'45.1"N 83'52'49.7"W On a larger scale, we are right in the middle of and about 2 hours from Atlanta, Asheville and Chattanooga. So you can have a tasty meal with the sound of the river flowing in the background. Also we are within 5-10 minutes to stores, restaurant , etc. But wait, there's more excitement! I purchased this property in 2016 from the estate of Robert Masters. Mr. Master's and his family lived on this property since 1957 in the small red brick house at the road, Green Shutters Cottage, an Airbnb/VRBO. He raised chickens and cattle. The cows are the reason this property looks the way it does with it's magnificent trees. I suspect this piece of property has had cattle on it for 100+ years. Mr. Masters worked at the Historic Habersham Mill down the road as did many of the locals. I have named the farm, Sole Farm. (Sole is Italian for Sun) The house on the hill, my home, is the Villa del Sole. I look forward to having you come and enjoy this beautiful piece of land I call home. Learn more about this land: COVID-19: None of the camp sites are even in sight of one another. The sights are large enough so that you and your fellow campers can social distance from one another. I certainly respect your wishes and will social distance while packing you into your site with the tractor.  You will pull into 495 Habersham Mill Rd, Green Shutter Cottage. There is a gravel drive that goes down behind Green Shutters Cottage. There is a Hip Camp sign pointing the way. I will pick you up there with the tractor to pack you in and I will pack you out as well. Vehicles are NOT allowed on the property. You WILL get stuck. Please be courteous and respect my time and let me know when you are going to arrive so that I can be available to assist you. A breathtaking view of the distant mountains greets you as you come on to the property as well as the majestic Villa del Sole, a Tuscan style villa on top of the hill, my home. The land drops away into rolling pastures dotted with ancient trees, some 300+!. The woodlands are filled with wildlife that surround the property where you are completely isolated from the world. There are two creeks that border each side of the property and join together and flow into Lake Habersham then into the Soque, the top trophy trout stream in the southeast. The water in these streams is pure. Please respect this and bring Earth friendly soap for washing dishes. I recommend Dr. Bonner's Pure castile soap. There is a creek by each camp site. The Woodland sites and the Meadow both have streams, fire pits, benches and latrines. I will pack you into and out of your site with the tractor. I do not allow vehicles on the property. You can walked to the sites if you like. I do welcome well behaved dogs. I have two that live here with me, Buster and Rufus. They will probably come pay a visit at some point.  Depending on where you want to camp there are three possible campsites to choose from: The Meadow, 2 to 24 campers and, The Woodland site, 2 to 8, The Head Waters, 2 to 6 campers.  The Head Waters site is down next to the creek and next to a meadow, very secluded, no latrine. The Meadow is best for larger groups of 8 or more. It is is a medium size meadow with flat ground suitable for spacing a number of tents out. There is a fire pit, grill/grate and three benches. It also has a creek and a latrine. The Woodland site is suitable for 2 to 8 campers but is a bit limited on places to pitch tents. It too has a fire pit, grill/grate, benches, and a latrine. It is by far the prettiest site. It's possible to sit in the creek in areas during hot weather(shallow water and COLD!. You are not completely disconnected from the world here(WIFI) but far enough away to feel isolated and private. In the bottoms, you are nestled in the woods and can see nothing around you but forest, not even the Villa and not the other campers in the meadow. You see no neighbors, houses, lights, etc. Stargazing from on top of the hill is not to be missed. I recommend Sky Watch app. Clarkesville is close by. Ingles is close by for forgotten supplies or a Starbucks fix. Yonah Cafe is great for breakfast and specialty coffees This is a small town, rural area, quiet and slow. There is plenty more to do if you just want Sole Farm camp as a base. Tallulah Gorge is 20 minutes to the north and hiking at Panther Creek.  Alpine Helen is a 20 minute drive Many good hiking opps are close by, waterfalls, thrifting. The Chattahoochee is good for canoeing, kayaking and swimming. There are several stables that offer trail rides close by. You are allowed to walk all over the property using the mown paths but please respect the other campers and my privacy. I will be respecting yours.

If there is dangerous weather, flood watch, tornado, etc. I will be happy to refund the time we were under this watch.... PLEASE READ ALL THIS BEFORE BOOKING.....This is a recreation area, NOT A CAMPGROUND. You have access to 44 acres in the mountains of North Georgia, on Tallulah River. Trout fishing, camping in beautiful Rabun County. Lot's of outdoor activities in the area. Forest Service land, and more nearby. This is not a campground, but a private Recreation Area on 43.7 acres on Tallulah River, which we love to share. Yes, there is a house here an there along the border. People choose to camp in the easy to access area, instead of hiking out to more seclude places on the property. So if you have a problem with the house being there across from the "sweet spot" please just choose a different place to spot. I find it so funny people want to come to secluded and be able to DRIVE TO IT, with no other people around. It is mostly secluded, but people do live around here, and a few houses border this property. People have actually given us bad reviews because of this. Hike in and camp away if it bothers you that someone lives across the river. And yes, there are chickens, foxes, coyotes, bears. Yes there is a road. Yes, they cut the trees down along the road to build the new bridge. Yes I have planted trees, and it will be more private as these grow. All this being said, please read on... This is rural neighborhood in Persimmon Community, Georgia. There are neighbors. Act accordingly, the few who do not! We are a few miles from NC line, and about 20 or so from SC line, in the most Northeast corner of Georgia. We are blessed with mountains, water, and a great community. 43.7 acres access, 1,000 feet of Tallulah River frontage (actually, property line is down the middle of the river), there is a nice road to the place, and a field and Tallulah River...... You can drive into the field, have fun in the river, and camp, build a fire, do whatever you like in our space. If you don't like being close to the very nice neighbors across from the car accesable spot, the camp further up the field, or pack by foot up the mountain. We are NOT a campground. We have no fixed sites. The fire pits were made by campers, not by me (the owner.) People have actually complained to me that there are neighbors across the river. CAMP AWAY FROM THERE IF IT BOTHERS YOU. And yes, they have chickens, that will wake you at dawn... Yes, there is a road. Yes there is a field. No, there are no fixed campsites. We are not a campground. We leave you alone. We will try to answer questions, but I do not sit by the phone. This is just us sharing access to the land. We want to preserve this like this, for as long as we can. I genuinely want to share this place. But that being said, I would rather not interface with campers. I live in the middle of nowhere for a reason. I assume you want to visit the middle of nowhere to be left alone. This is what I will do. I do my best to keep this going, and open to being shared. That's my job. But I am not going to find you stuff to do, watch the calendar, or whatever. Just look up THINGS TO DO IN RABUN COUNTY. DON'T TRESPASS ON NEIGHBORS' LAND If people come on the land while you are here, THEY are trespassing. I try to keep it private, but there is the occasional interloper who wanders on. Just tell them you have it lease, it is private. I am sorry for this. People are, well.... PEOPLE.... There is 44 acres here. Over 1,000 feet of river frontage. There is great fishing here. Please respect the property lines. We love our neighbors, and they love us. We want to keep it this way. Be aware that the property if BELOW the bridge, all the way back to the old cabin. That next branch is the property line. I will try and provide a plat, or map so you will be aware of the lines. There is also plenty of public property in Rabun County. Rabun County is 65% US Forest Service land. If 44 private acres isn't enough, then check out some of the wonderful public places around here. Look in photos for plat of the property. You agree to not trespass. Also, property line is down the middle of the river. Please don't trespass across the river. For exact direction put this exact string into Google Maps: VFX6+M7 Clayton, Georgia We are also pet-friendly, so long as your animal is well behaved. And while we are at it, please do not do doughnuts in the hay field. Every young kid from Athens seems to want to tear up the hay field. Please don't! We expect it to be left mostly like it was. Thanks! There are 44 acres here on Tallulah River. Come camp wherever you want on here. That's it. Lot's of photos on here. Let's of people with 100 questions! Hopefully they are all answered here. Please, be aware it is just a piece of land in the mountains of North Georgia. Help us preserve it for your use! Enjoy it! Leave it like you found it! All happy! But just beware that there are NO REFUNDS unless more than 30 days before the booking dates. THE RIVER Tallulah River has great atmosphere, trout fishing, and more. But please be aware that when rain comes, the river can rise quickly. We try to be aware, but you need to stay aware. This is on a flood plain, so it does flood sometimes, and fast. BE AWARE and Stay safe. Our mission is to preserve this beautiful mountain land the way it is, and to share it with people who will enjoy, appreciate, and take care of it. FACILITIES We don't have regular facilities. But we do offer nice new camp toilet for $22. You are expected to either bring your own camp toilet, and bag your waste out, or you can buy a toilet bucket and some plastic bags, and cat litter. This is a brand new unopened toilet lid and a brand new 5 gallon bucket. Bring some cat litter, and some bags to line the bucket, and some Ziploc bags to put this in and seal. The cost of a bucket potty is $22 NO MORE KITTY TRENCHES. You are expected to remove your waste and put it in your trash each time you use it. This is for consideration of others. IF YOU LEAVE TRASH YOU WILL BE CHARGED $50 FOR CLEANUP. IF YOU LEAVE HUMAN WASTE, YOU WILL BE CHARGED $500 FOR CLEANUP.......... I am only saying this because as we get more experience, we learn what people are actually capable of. Most people are very good about everything. But there have been a few people who actually expected me to clean up their waste, and then they gave me a bad review, etc. I am a decent guy. I will share my million dollar property with you for $40 a night. I will leave you alone. But please.... PLEASE... don't expect me to clean up after you. And when I do have to clean up after you, please don't curse me, divert, give excuses. If you camp here you are expected to be decent, and treat me decently. This is only for that 1%... Thanks. We live just up the mountain are here for you via text if you need anything at all during your stay with us. The pond is in the middle of about a 4 acre area that is totally forested & makes a great place to get away from the madness of life & get into nature. Our street ends in a cul-de-sac, minimizing traffic in the area, but the spot is right along a street. You will be able to see & hear cars going by the site. On the other hand, it is also right along a deer path & just this morning I saw 2 does & a baby walking through the site. There is a resident hawk & a gaggle of turkeys that live in the area in addition to pileated woodpeckers & all sorts of other birds. You will be the only ones camping here. There is a long parking spot suitable for cars/SUVs/trucks and even a trailer or pop up.  There are hiking trails leading into the woods at the right side of the end of the drive. Feel free to enjoy them. We are surrounded by the Chattahoochee National Forest and here in Towns County we are 80% National Forest. Lake Chatuge is close by (less than 10 minutes) in Hiawassee has 132 miles of shoreline. The Appalachian Trail weaves all through the area and you can get to numerous access points for the AT within about 30 minutes. There are a many waterfalls throughout our area within about a 30 minute drive as well. The closest is Cupid Falls just behind Young Harris College. Fire's Creek in Hayesville is a favorite spot. Otherwise you can head towards Vogel State Park and find many more.  Head north on state road 66 heading out of Young Harris towards Warne, North Carolina. Travel almost 4 miles passing 339 and then make a right on Brasstown Lane. If you see mile marker 4 or get to Warne, you passed it. Once you turn onto Brasstown Lane it will be on the right side. Coming from North Carolina head south on 66 out of Warne and make a left onto Brasstown Lane. We are about 1 mile south of the North Carolina state line. We are somewhat in the middle of Blairsville (GA), Hiawassee (GA) and Hayeville (NC).  Not far from us is the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC and just a bit further is Murphy, NC.  34'58'45.1"N 83'52'49.7"W On a larger scale, we are right in the middle of and about 2 hours from Atlanta, Asheville and Chattanooga. My family and I stayed at campsite number one. The scenery is beautiful and the whole park is very clean and well laid out. We loved that there was a good amount of space and privacy between the sites. The creek is very soothing and beautiful. It was very convenient having seasoned firewood and fresh farm eggs available to purchase on site. The eggs were delicious and the chickens greet you every time you walk to the bathhouse. Speaking of the bath house it was very clean and the showers were nice and hot with plenty of water pressure. There is an ingles 11 minutes away to stock up on food. There is also a beautiful easy trail 6 minutes away called Tessentee bottomlands preserve. Adam was a very welcoming and attentive host. I would definitely suggest this campground for anyone looking to have a peaceful, private camping experience.

We had a wonderful stay! The sites run along a large creek so the ambiance is perfect. Sites are clean with everything working properly and nicely spaced out. What we loved most is that there are many accessible approaches to the creek bed for our children to play and explore, plus large open fields for them to run some energy out. There is also a nice hike that takes you through the woods on the property. The hosts were out and about working on things, very friendly and accommodating. We will return.

Site 1 is beautiful. It sits right on the edge of the creek. The sounds of the water flowing over the rocks nearby were so peaceful. The property is quiet and well-maintained. The bathhouse was exceptionally clean, and the showers have fantastic water pressure. Owners are very nice and came out to say hello to us. Ten out of ten, and am already planning a return trip for the springtime.

The picnic table is super lightweight and can be moved based on how you camp. It is on the flattest spot so if you sleep in a tent you can move the table to the other side of the fire pit and pitch your tent where the table is.

11/10 ! absolutely loved this quaint spot. we saw a few deer and a wild turkey during our short stay. the little library out front was such a highlight and made my partner and i feel so welcomed. we definitely want to come back again. it was my partner’s first time camping and she enjoyed herself so much. we also visited vogel state park which was a 30 min drive and worth it. highly recommend. thank you megan :)

The creek in front of the property is available for use. Great for soaking when the weather gets hot and it's shallow enough to just bring a folding chair. Fish? Yes, there are some trout in there. Flies work best. Got kids? Build a dam! Go for a creek walk! Great hiking at the end of Wesser Creek Road. There is a trail by the creek and a fire tower with great view about 4.5 miles up that trail. Water source (spring) is available at the top. Follow the blue blaze. The white blazes at the top tell you you're on the Appalachian Trail. Take a side hike to Maine! Nantahala Outdoor Center (NOC) is just down the road on 19/74. Rafting, zip lines, a ropes course, mountain biking... good food by the river, a bar, public restrooms... the works. They often have music by the river on the weekends. This land was once a hillside farm, after it was first logged early in the last century. They used to grow corn all over the hillside, then let the cows up there to graze and eat up the stalks. If you look closely, you might find some barbed wire in an old oak here and there.

We just retired from Active Duty Air Force! My ancestors have owned the land our NC cabins sit on since 1836. In fact, my mother grew up there after my Grandfather returned from WWII when there was no electricity and the outhouse was a bench over the creek. I grew up hiking the mountains with my brothers and our BB guns and my Uncle Frank at our family reunions. In 2005 he deeded us a parcel of land and we built our first cabin - Smawlie. We love to come to the cabin and Hike the trails on our own property, and of course, the world famous ones that join them, namely the Bartram and the Appalachian Trails. As you explore the lake, the trails, the rivers, and the mountain roads you'll see why our ancestors settled here. In 2018 - we bought the remainder of Uncle Frank's land - and in his honor built our second cabin - Frank's Landing. Also in that year I started managing my brother Bill's cabin. When we were stationed in Alaska for 6 heavenly years - we purchased a remote parcel of property and have slowly begun to develop it. We just completed building our cabin there. The Cove consists of 12 acres with a tributary stream and spring fed ponds less than a half mile from the Toccoa River. It was originally the water source for the surrounding properties prior to the city installing a water system. It is completely private and unspoiled nature, with about a mile of walking trails throughout. The Mountaintop is a 3 acre high elevation site bordering 140 acres of undisturbed woods and is also very close to the Toccoa River. Fantastic location yet very private for base camp to access the many activities in this area, or enjoy the Toccoa River. It is the only campground in Fannin County limited to only one group at a time. Each site includes 2 access points to the Toccoa River. The Gibbs Drive community river access lot has a charcoal grill, picnic table, boat launch, swimming rock and fire pit with chairs. The Toccoa River Forest community river access lot has a big boat ramp. The river is controlled flow and usually at low water from dawn to about 2 pm, ideal for fishing or swimming/wading/boulder bopping. The River release schedule is available online at the website TVA.gov. The River has swift current when the dam is opened for release, usually daily. This property is conveniently located in Mineral Bluff, Georgia 30559, just 4 miles off the 4-lane highway (Highway 515/76) and just a short drive to Blue Ridge, Georgia; Blairsville, Georgia; Murphy, North Carolina, McCaysville, Georgia and Copper Hill, Tennessee. It is a paved road drive all the way to the entrance. It is located just a few miles from the center of downtown Blue Ridge with art galleries, many restaurants, brew pubs, shopping, the Blue Ridge Brewing Company, Mercier Orchard, the Blue Ridge Scenic Railroad, and more! The Blue Ridge Scenic Railroad runs most of the year from Blue Ridge to McCaysville, right along the Toccoa River. The campsites are equally close to downtown McCaysville, Ga. /Copper Hill, TN. You are a short drive from Lake Blue Ridge, the Chattahoochee National Forest, Brasstown Bald and many hiking trails, such as the Aska adventure area, the Appalachian Trail, the Benton McCaye Trail, and trails in the Big Frog wilderness area, Cohutta wilderness area (largest wilderness area east of the Mississippi) the Rich Mountain wilderness area and the Project Chimps hiking trails. The Ocoee River whitewater center with the Olympic kayak rapids and the world class mountain biking trails are less than 20 minutes away. Hiking, biking, fishing, whitewater rafting, kayaking, tubing, boating, swimming, zip lines -- oh my!

Hut or Tent, your choice. We just added the tent platform and it is your choice as to tent platform or Hut. They are about a football field away from each other. Get away from it all on a secluded mature wooded hill twenty minutes from the Ococee River. You can feel how old the Appalachian mountains are here. Remote enough and private but no 4WD needed (flat terrain to parking) and enough neighbors if needed (road running through property leads to subdivision by Apalachia Lake so has traffic on it.) To the right of the road is a creek and bog, to the left we have several acres of woods to explore and relax in. You will see an occasional car on the private road that runs below the Hut but on the hill, you will have complete privacy. Please note we have not yet added a firepit or compost toilet to the tent platform so you will be needing to go to the Hut for both of those. You can get to the Hut from the Platform along the road or through the woods. It is a beautiful place to chill and hang out that we are happy to share with you. Three of ten acres to the right of the road that runs through our property are a bog that runs along a creek with the creek joining wild remote Apalachia Lake. (Pretty much unpassable Nature saying keep out.) But enjoy hiking and exploring our seven gently sloping mature wood hills. There are also lots of well maintained dirt hillside roads for exploring or biking. Enjoy our Baba Yaga hut with only the bare necessities but you will be flat, dry and able to enjoy the woods all to yourself. Or the Tent Platform pretty much complete privacy. When one is rented, we take the other off the calendar so you get the entire place to yourself. Come explore and then chill away from it all.
