Hello Campers, We are a 125 acre property that has 36 holes of championship disc golf. The North Oconee River runs through our property as well as three ponds throughout. We have plenty of room to pitch your tents. It really depends on how far you would like to be from the bathhouse. We are 6 miles from Lake Lanier and the Chattahooce River, and a short drive to hiking/mountain biking trail heads. We have a wonderful bathhouse with restrooms, showers and laundry just a very short walk from our sites (maintained by the staff at the park). We're also pet-friendly and love our furry campers! Just add the pet fee for each pet in the extras section at check out or send us an email letting us know ahead of time and we will get that added. We just ask that you do not leave your pet alone in the tents at any time unless properly crated. You are financially responsible for any damage that is done to our accommodations by your pets.

Weekend Trip to Golden Light Retreat

It's a very quiet place to get away from everything. The owners are great people and they will work with you on extra days and any other inconvenience that might pop up. Only a few miles down the road from blairsville ga and notley lake, it makes this a close to town but far away from everything. I would recommend this get away to anyone who is trying to get away.

Weekend Trip to Creekside Cabin - Lake Hartwell

Overall, we had a great stay. The host was very communicative and helpful, and the cabin was comfortable with beautiful views and a very cozy bed. A few things caught us off guard. I had assumed the cabin was directly on Lake Hartwell, but it isn’t, and because the exact location isn’t shared beforehand, our drive ended up being nearly 5 hours instead of the 3–3½ we expected. That also made our kayaking plans difficult since we were too far from the rental companies we had planned to use. The host did try to help us find a solution, which we appreciated. My biggest suggestion would be improving the outdoor maintenance. Given the cleaning fee, I expected the deck to be free of spider webs and wasp nests. We removed a wasp nest ourselves so we could enjoy coffee on the balcony, and the outdoor cushions had been left out by a previous guest and were wet and dirty. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it. I do think the price is a bit high for the overall experience, but with a little more attention to the outdoor areas, it would be an excellent getaway.

Weekend Trip to Herzen Platz (a place in the Heart)

I can’t recommend Mr. Gary’s site enough! My boyfriend and I had such a lovely time, and he was a gracious host. This was our first time glamping (we normally camp primitive), and it felt like absolute luxury. The bed was comfortable, there was plenty of seating, and the access to electricity was a huge plus. The sound of the bubbling brook beside the camp was so nice to fall asleep to. The location is great because it is peaceful and secluded, but it’s also 10 minutes away from the Main Street of Helen. It’s an ideal location if you want to enjoy the quiet and relax in nature while still having the option to easily participate in civilization. It rained intermittently during our stay, but it did not affect the fun we had one bit. We stayed cozy and clean, especially with access to a hot shower! We did have to fight the mosquitos a bit due to the humid, rainy weather, which would have been no issue if we hadn’t forgotten to pack bug spray. So just remember to pack your bug spray and you will be all right! And don’t sleep on the breakfast menu and other fun packages the host offers. Breakfast was incredible and definitely made with love. It really added to the experience and made our anniversary trip even more special. We can’t wait to come back again! Thank you for such a wonderful experience.

Weekend Trip to Golden Light Retreat

Ray was the most gracious host making sure we had everything we needed. He had hot dogs, potatoes and marshmallows ready to roast on the fire pit (stocked with plenty of wood) on our arrival so we didn't need to worry about dinner. He even offered organic vegetables from his farm just down the road. The tomatoes and cucumbers were delicious! The RV was stocked with coffee and other drinks in the fridge and basic toiletries were provided. Star gazing at night from the hot tub was very nice even during these hot summer days. We enjoyed local BBQ at Papaws BBQ and grabbed some local honey from the antique store right next door. Nottely reservoir trail is minutes down the road and is a nice hike around the lake or if you want a beach, you can try Poteet Creek swimming area. Blairsville is about 15 minutes away and has grocery and restaurants if you can't find what you need at the Dollar General 5 minutes away. We had a great time and will definitely return soon! I do want to note that this is a RV on acres of woods. As any camping or RV'ing situation, you need to expect bugs and a little dirt. The RV could use a little updating but everything was in working condition (the AC was top notch) and we were very comfortable during our stay.

Weekend Trip to Hiawassee Glamping

This was such a fantastic stay! Everything exceeded our expectations. The home was spotless, the appliances were modern, and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything our group needed for a Fourth of July BBQ. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and there was plenty of space for everyone to spread out and relax. The view was, without a doubt, the highlight of our stay. We spent hours on the porch watching the fireworks, enjoying the scenery, and just hanging out—it was the perfect place to unwind. Although there are other glamping sites nearby, the property still felt very private and peaceful. Lake access was nearby. The host was wonderful—extremely responsive to my many questions before and during our stay and full of helpful recommendations that made our trip even better. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

Lovely spot for a quiet getaway. Enjoyed my morning coffee on the covered porch, the perfect spot to listen to the river, the birds - and catch a deer sneaking across the yard! The kitchen had every cooking essential - didn't feel the need to leave once during my three-night stay. But enjoyed the nearby hiking on my way in and out. Comfortable bed, nice shower - great for being in nature but with the comforts of home.

Gary’s place was exactly what we needed from his beautiful site, his charming personality, and lovely dogs. He was super quick to respond to all my questions (which I had many) and I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to get away and feel like they are in nature but so close to so many fun things to do.

Our stay with Gary was absolutely incredible! From the moment we arrived, he made us feel welcome and at home. Gary is truly one of the kindest, most genuine hosts we’ve ever met. He went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed while still giving us plenty of privacy to enjoy our getaway. The campsite felt like our own private oasis. The peaceful setting was exactly what we needed to escape and relax. One of our favorite parts was listening to the creek nearby. The sound of the flowing water was so calming and made the whole experience feel even more special. Breakfast was amazing! I had the BLT quiche, and my husband had the camper-style skillet. Both were absolutely delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. It was the perfect way to start the day and easily one of the highlights of our stay. Even the outdoor shower exceeded our expectations. The water pressure was fantastic, especially for an outdoor shower, and the temperature was always perfect. It was such a refreshing experience and showed how much thought has gone into making guests comfortable. Every detail reflected the care Gary puts into hosting. We left feeling refreshed, relaxed, and already planning our next visit. We can’t wait to come back in the winter and experience the property in a different season. Thank you, Gary, for your kindness, hospitality, and for creating such a wonderful place. We highly recommend this Hipcamp to anyone looking for a peaceful and memorable getaway!

This is a piece of paradise, with a stream running right by the campsite, all you can hear is the water running by you and setting you up for the ultimate relaxing experience. Gary (the host) has thought of everything you need and has an immediate response if you have any questions or need any help with anything. His two little dogs are great and super welcoming and friendly. The location is super convenient to Helen and surrounding areas and all they have to offer. I highly recommend a visit and stay here if you havent!

Weekend Trip to Tiny Home Way

The cabin was absolutely great! It was the perfect cozy retreat into the woods to disconnect and relax. The jacuzzi was a huge highlight and very enjoyable. Everything went smoothly, and Joni and Moni were great hosts—very attentive and fast to respond. Highly recommend!

This is a beautiful spot, even in the rain. We booked last minute as an anniversary getaway and a need to reconnect with nature. Gary is excellent, walking you through everything he has set up for you when you arrive. We loved the little trail that followed the stream, and the area near the tire swing. He also told us about a nature trail across the street. Breakfast is AMAZING and so worth it. I had the quiche and my husband had the skillet. It is so nice after spending a night in a tent to wake up knowing you don’t have to make breakfast!

Gary’s campsite was wonderful, had everything we needed for a quick romantic getaway. Sleeping by the creek was so peaceful and the bed was very comfortable. We didn’t get a chance to order any food but the menu looked amazing. I would definitely book here again!

Gary’s camp was absolutely terrific! It was like a Bed and Breakfast with Glamping. The tent was spacious, the shower was hot, and the bed was very comfortable. His food was gourmet quality delicious. Highly recommend staying at Herzen Platz - you have to get the breakfast!

Weekend Trip to Herzen Platz (a place in the Heart)

Herzen Platz (Place in the Heart) is appropiately named. The location was a delightful little piece of nature with its beautiful foilage, flowering plants and trees alongside a babbling creek and was just overall beautiful. Upon our arrival, we were warmly welcomed by our charming host Gary and his sweet little pups. He gave us a lay of the land, informed us of additional services offered (Like gourmet breakfast and other fare options available and use of the hot tub) and gave us recommendations on various local things to explore. The tent itself was definitely the embodiment of glamping with its full size bed, leather futon, coffee station, and bottle of wine, complete with glass wineglasses, that greeted us upon arrival. It even had fans and a heater to accomodate the variances in temperature. The modern day outhouse consisted of a compsting toilet, mirror and outdoor handwashing station. Next to it was a shower with a tankless water heater that allowed us to take glorious hot showers. It was a fantastic experience! Although it may not be typical for other guests, we were enchanted by the place and wanted to get to know its owner. As a result, we opted to talk to Gary and get to know him. He is truly a lovely soul! My friend and I had the best time. We highly recommend Hertzen Platz and definitely plan on returing!!!
