Escape to Moonlit Avenue - A private treelined driveway leads to the primitive campsite with bathhouse nearby where the deer (and sometimes turkeys) have a regular route along with other forest animals and insects; birds abound in the trees. Goats, chickens (including a rooster), dogs and cats are domesticated nearby.
Enjoy this private and serene primitive camping area in a forested riverfront neighborhood with a great public boat ramp a short walk away. The campsite is located on the back acre with cleared areas for tents and vehicles. Picnic tables and fire rings are provided. Spring well water access via hose at the campsite or at bathhouse with shower, sink and toilet.
Whether you're in need of forest bathing, a dip in real fresh spring water (always around 70F or 21C degrees year round!) or looking to explore by water or land, this is a great location. Just a short walk from the Hollingsworth Boat Ramp which can act as a base from which to enjoy many areas nearby for fresh water swimming, paddling, boating or fishing via public parks and private outfitters. Close to Gilchrist Blue Springs and Ichetucknee State Parks, Rum Island Park, and Ginnie Springs Recreation Park.
Birds especially love this area and the serenade from the treetops gets better each year with a wide variety of bird songs. Owls reside nearby and bats have also been known to fly in the sundowning sky! Make sure to bring a blanket for sitting around the campfire and stargazing if temps get into the 60s or below overnight.

We have been a WWOOF host since 2011. Over 500 organic volunteers from around the world have lived and worked at the farm so we are used to creating an atmosphere of community and sustainable living. We have cleared tent camping lots for Hip Campers in front of the on-property lake with easy access to swimming and fishing. There are two solar shower stalls with hot water powered by the sun. It is specifically built to overlook the main blueberry field and peach grove. Stunning views at sunset. An outhouse / composting toilet is currently under construction with the rain water collection system now complete. In the meantime a portable toilet is provided. A potable water station is available and built from re-purposed materials and wood harvested locally. We are a working farm. We supply every Lucky's Market location with fresh turmeric and a host of stores with our blueberries. We also have an active u-pick program during the blueberry and peach harvests (late March to early June) that is available to Hip Campers. There are multiple springs within 30 miles in various directions - some of them of First Magnitude volume. Ichetucknee Springs offers excellent river rafting. Ginnie Springs offers world class underwater cave diving -PADI license required. Manatee Springs and Fanning Springs consistently offer up close sightings of Manatees without the crowds of Crystal River. There is also a boat launch on the Suwannee River just minutes from the farm for boating, skiing and fishing. Bob's River Place is minutes away.The Gulf of Mexico is just 40 miles away. Scalloping season begins June 15 this year and runs to September. Oyster season lasts all winter. Sharon was so accommodating and her campsite had the perfect amount of amenities to unplug. We loved the outdoor bathhouse (water always at 72 degrees, even in freezing conditions!!) and laying under the stars. Wonderful campsite!

It was very peaceful. Very nice little setup. Had a fire ring and picnic table and that’s all you need. Me dogs roamed around and quickly learned about the cactus. No harm done and there are warning signs, my dogs just can’t read. It’s a nice little retreat away. We will definitely be back.

Had a wonderful time tent camping with my dogs. I loved that they could run free (please not that there are cactus on the property - there are signs - so just make sure your dog doesn’t get pricked) and explore the land. We were the only campers at sites 1-4 so it was quiet. You can hear some road noise.
Close to a lot of state parks and springs to do some exploring! We will definitely be back!

Comfortable and cozy, surrounded by nature and still close to all landmarks. We observed red cardinal and countless deer frolicking the area. 4 min walk to the river to check out with your morning coffee. A lot of timber to burn and clean air to breathe! Sharon and her campsite are exceptional! There is ample space for a group and secluded for two. We camped with her last year and since she’s added a bathhouse and a full working toilet! The shower is ran off spring water (no hot water) which is perfect after spending the day in the sun or at the springs! Springs are conveniently located, with there also being a boat/kayak launch two minutes down the road! Would recommend her spot to anyone and we will definitely be back.

I can’t say enough good thinks about Sharon - super responsive, helpful, points you to fun things to do; she was wonderful and made my stay that much more enjoyable. And of course a lovely spot, loads of room to spread out if you’re a group and quiet.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Sharon is an amazing host for many reasons… Always responded quickly to my messages, gave great advice and options for places to explore, provided easy to follow directions, insured the campsite was clean, stocked and ready for us when we arrived and told us to message anytime if we needed anything. The site was spacious and exactly how it was described in the listing. We enjoyed sitting around the fire, star gazing, and listening to the owls at night and song birds during the day. Got to see some deer wander through the woods nearby and walked a short ways down the road to look at the farm animals in the neighbors front yard. All in all it was a great escape to enjoy nature and would stay here again in a heartbeat!

We had a great stay at this campsite over the weekend! The site itself was well-maintained and had the added bonus of a toilet and shower, which made things a lot more comfortable. One of the highlights was the easy access to the river — perfect for swimming during the hot afternoons. Evenings by the fire were peaceful and relaxing.
One note for future campers: make sure your pets are up to date on flea and tick medication, as the area is pretty active with nature. Overall, a great spot for a weekend getaway!

Stayed here for the second time after visiting in April 2024. Host visited us as we were making dinner, again super friendly guy. Ended up staying at site 3 and really enjoyed it. Showers are great, kybo cleanest I've used. Thanks again!

Camping here was so peaceful. We were the only ones around, and it was nice and quiet. Although there is a road fairly nearby, the traffic sounds more like white noise than anything. We got to tour the blueberry bushes and turmeric roots. We were right by a gorgeous basin of water nice and cold for swimming. The porta potty was clean, there was rain water for doing dishes, and drinking water closer to the house. The showers were HOT hot and never ran out, plus had a great view of the property. I recommend buying some turmeric powder from Richard, it’s the freshest turmeric I’ve ever tasted. We will be coming back to volunteer! Highly recommend.
