As a family who has towed campers across the US a couple times utilizing Hip Camp we know others will appreciate the ease of pulling into our little 1 acre urban oasis just a couple miles off the interstate in Floridas Coolest City.
It’s an ideal location to explore St Pete as we are right between the beaches and downtown (5 miles to St Pete beach, 4 miles to downtown -$10 Uber ride), Sarasota and/or Tampa. Ours is an urban spot based on ease, safety and location, not a wilderness "experience"
We have a paved circular driveway overlooking our beehives, henhouse and seasonal garden where you’ll find a table with chairs and plenty of space to cookout and enjoy a quiet evening with a great sunset by the blowing bamboo.
This is one of South St Pete’s oldest neighborhoods- it surrounds an active former PGA golf course and lively country club. It’s a great place for safely biking or walking with green spaces, tennis courts, playgrounds and dog parks nearby.
There are many owls, raptors, green parrots, purple martins and osprey overhead as we’re just a few blocks from the beautiful Boyd Hill Nature Preserve. - not to be missed!
The Pinellas Trail is just a short bike ride away too and can lead you to downtown. It is a cyclists favorite!

Property is home to a farm with hundreds of fruit trees- Lychee, Mango, Starfruit, Papaya, Guava). Red Mombin, and thousands of banana plants.
Fishing can be great, wildlife and bird watching too.
Fenced and gated for safety, this old historic nursery property has good vibes and plenty to offer. Until you see it - you really may not understand.
Parts of property are wide open, other areas are rugged and difficult to walk through including some wetland areas.

The property is 0.5 acre. You will be parking in part of the yard, under the shade of one of the oaks, slightly tucked back away from the house. We can be available to help/welcome you, and offer local guidance if you like.
**A sweet but fearful rescue dog lives here and we are not allowing any other animals to camp or stay on the property.** NO DOGS WHATSOEVER. You will be made to leave if you violate this condition.
***Our acceptance rate is lower because people with dogs, 5 people in their party, or no onboard facility of their own submit booking requests, which we must decline.

Our RV and Tent Campsites are located in a grassy field next to dense woods. Electric and water hookups are included in the RV/Camper sites, but not the Tent Site. All sites have a picnic table and fire ring. Our newly renovated restrooms on the property have toilets and one shower. A boardwalk takes you along the Cotee River to our two open air pavilions with several places to sit and enjoy nature. Cell phone service is not a problem, as we are not remote (although it sort of feels like we are when you are here) - we are 5 min from downtown New Port Richey, 2 minutes from groceries, gas, restaurants.
This beautiful slice of Old Florida is named for the Pithlachascotee River that bends along the back side of the property. Pithlo is the Creek word meaning canoe, and chaskita means to dig or chop out, together signifying "place where canoes are chopped or dug out". Seminoles of this area used canoes dug out from the great cypress trees found along Florida rivers.
From the 1980s until 2014, this property was owned by the Cotee River Lions Club. They held a popular monthly pancake breakfast fundraiser in the large pavilion along the river. We purchased this 4.9 acres of land in late 2019. It is now where we live and have a woodworking shop. It has been a magical place for us, with no shortage of wildlife, rich jungle forest, a winding narrow river, and even the occasion river otter sighting.
We are grateful to all the humans who have occupied this place over the centuries before us for keeping it as nature intended it. It is our intention to do our part to conserve and protect its natural beauty as long as possible. We hope you find it to be as restful and rejuvenating as we do.

There are 5 restaurants on the water that are a short ride bicycle, golf cart or 1 wheel ride away. One is a Hooters. Within 2 blocks is a Dunkin Donuts, Culvers and Hardees. Walmart is accessible without driving on 19. If you need fuel there is a WaWa and Walmart station. The Veteran's Expressway is a short drive east which makes a drive to the Tampa Fairgrounds less than 1 hour. The Bayou goes all the way out to the Gulf - we see large schools of mullet here, occasionally turtles, hawks, and herons. If you are lucky, you might see a manatee or an otter!
We have a 36” campfire pit you are welcome to use. We are still working on getting seating for the campfire pit, but if you have camping chairs, it’s perfect!
We have an amazing location to share AND we also have neighbors to the left, and across the creek. We value and respect them. We wish to share our space with quiet and mindful campers.
The property is 0.5 acre. You will be parking in part of the yard, under the shade of one of the oaks, slightly tucked back away from the house. We can be available to help/welcome you, and offer local guidance if you like.
**A sweet but fearful rescue dog lives here and we are not allowing any other animals to camp or stay on the property.** NO DOGS WHATSOEVER. You will be made to leave if you violate this condition.
***Our acceptance rate is lower because people with dogs, 5 people in their party, or no onboard facility of their own submit booking requests, which we must decline.

Our RV and Tent Campsites are located in a grassy field next to dense woods. Electric and water hookups are included in the RV/Camper sites, but not the Tent Site. All sites have a picnic table and fire ring. Our newly renovated restrooms on the property have toilets and one shower. A boardwalk takes you along the Cotee River to our two open air pavilions with several places to sit and enjoy nature. Cell phone service is not a problem, as we are not remote (although it sort of feels like we are when you are here) - we are 5 min from downtown New Port Richey, 2 minutes from groceries, gas, restaurants.
This beautiful slice of Old Florida is named for the Pithlachascotee River that bends along the back side of the property. Pithlo is the Creek word meaning canoe, and chaskita means to dig or chop out, together signifying "place where canoes are chopped or dug out". Seminoles of this area used canoes dug out from the great cypress trees found along Florida rivers.
From the 1980s until 2014, this property was owned by the Cotee River Lions Club. They held a popular monthly pancake breakfast fundraiser in the large pavilion along the river. We purchased this 4.9 acres of land in late 2019. It is now where we live and have a woodworking shop. It has been a magical place for us, with no shortage of wildlife, rich jungle forest, a winding narrow river, and even the occasion river otter sighting.
We are grateful to all the humans who have occupied this place over the centuries before us for keeping it as nature intended it. It is our intention to do our part to conserve and protect its natural beauty as long as possible. We hope you find it to be as restful and rejuvenating as we do.

5645 Bay Boulevard is 2 blocks off US 19 in Port Richey Florida. The property is 1 mile east of the Gulf Of Mexico. There are 5 restaurants on the water that are a short ride bicycle, golf cart or 1 wheel ride away. One is a Hooters. Within 2 blocks is a Dunkin Donuts, Culvers and Hardees. Walmart is accessible without driving on 19. If you need fuel there is a WaWa and Walmart station. The Veteran's Expressway is a short drive east which makes a drive to the Tampa Fairgrounds less than 1 hour. I absolutely loved staying here. The location is ideal. Close to Anna Maria Island, but tucked away enough to be peaceful and quiet. It was the best of both worlds.
Several incredible restaurants were within walking distance, which made it easy to enjoy the area without constantly driving. The host was amazing and very responsive, and the property felt safe and calm throughout my stay.
I would definitely stay here again.

Nice little stop off spot near New Port Richey. Easy bike ride into town mostly on sidewalks. The back part of the property is a hidden jungle-like gem with boardwalks and pavilions - so quiet and peaceful in there. We did our daily yoga and stretching in there and it was a real treat. My husband used the shower facility and said it was really nice. The host is very friendly and helpful. I would recommend if you are in the area looking for a short stay.

This is a perfect place for being close to the island without paying island money. Emilie greeted us when we first came in, and then left us alone for the rest of the stay. Her place is very peaceful, it's a dead end so very few cars driveby. The spot was nice and shaded, we stayed a week and I would definitely stay again.

Stayed here for 2 nights. There were other guests but you would not have known it. Although the landscape took a hit due to Florida having one of its coldest winters it was still lovely to see how nature grows with what’s thrown at it. My 2 dogs loved running around and smelling everything. I would come again!

- environment was mostly quiet. You are next to a road but that doesn’t bother me.

Loved it! Really beautiful and well maintained yard and home. We stayed at the henhouse and our cats loved watching the chickens.
It felt very private because of all of the plants even though it’s on a corner lot.
Very quiet and safe neighborhood, little to no road noise at night.
We ubered to downtown and it was about $10-20. There is a free trolley that goes around downtown.
We also loved fort de Soto park 20min other direction.
Got good solar and Starlink connection.
Would definitely stay again!

We camped at Mike’s over a long weekend and really enjoyed ourselves. The pond had really clear water and both of my sons caught a fish! As others have said you do hear some highway noise but it didn’t bother us at all. We enjoyed the Peacefulness of the property. There was only a few campers out there so my boys could throw a football around without worrying about traffic. We had purchased wood for a fire, but didn’t realize there was a burn ban. Mike offered to refund us the money for it and that was very nice! We also payed to rent the poop caddy and Mike would come and haul it away whenever needed! We really appreciated that and it made dumping our tanks so easy. If you’re looking for a quick bite to eat the property is located close to lots of fast food options and a few gas stations just minutes away. Mike was even nice enough to let us put our paddle board in the pond and take a spin around. The pond was surprisingly bigger than I’d expected. We look forward to staying again soon!

Mike was a very helpful and welcoming host. His little paradise offers a lot of seclusion and a great view of their really large pond, which is practically a lake. I had a problem with my trailer, and Mike jumped on it and helped me immediately. There’s chickens running around with roosters and tons of different fruit trees, and a lot of wildlife and it’s a great little spot that I will definitely return to.

I had a lovely stay with my jeep and dog at Mike’s place on the pond. A hidden gem I’d say, a working organic fruit farm brilliant with eclectic old Florida rustic charm. Mike was so incredibly friendly, showing me around the beautiful property., a work in progress full of passion and love for the land. My camp site 7 was quiet, clean and just remote enough to enjoy a beautiful evening amongst the stars. The morning of my departure, Mike stopped by to gift me with some lovely star fruit. Such a thoughtful gesture and so incredibly kind. I would highly recommend Mikes place, getting away tucked into this beautiful piece of land at the pond , a quiet little piece of heaven amongst the fruit trees with a bohemian grass roots vibe.
