The Roots ReTREEt is situated on 4.5 acres tucked away in Old Florida of Volusia County. The name comes from the roots that stretch throughout the property with the TREEs providing a sanctuary for all who come to rest. Our little piece of paradise has so much serenity with a fully wooded landscape while its only miles from fun things to do: surfing, biking, hiking, boating, fishing, paddling, swimming and more! If you're lucky enough to experience the wildlife that shows up regularly, you could have the pleasure of seeing wild animals like: turkeys, deer, pigs, armadillos, hawks, dragonflies, butterflies, turtles and many others. We're proud of our oasis and thrilled to share it with folks that appreciate protected land as much as we do. The land is part of the resource corridor, which is protected wetlands and it is environmentally sensitive and ecologically significant. This means that it is an ecosystem that supports the wildlife and cannot be touched or manipulated in any way. Lucy's place is our community space for you and your family's use. It has lots of seating, plenty of places to relax, a grill and outdoor sink for cooking, and a gas fireplace to enjoy the scenery at night. A hot tub awaits you, which is open to the stars and great after a day of lounging or fun out and about. We are close to everything but far enough for you to relax after a fun day of exploring. Daytona Speedway is a 30 min. drive. You can be on the beach in 20 min. or putting your boat/jet skis in the river in 15 min. We'd be honored to share what we consider to be heaven on earth with you. :-)

Shiloh was the name of an early Florida town that was once located just down the road from our property. It was populated by hardy, adventurous folks who made a way for themselves and their families by clearing a spot along the lagoon, building a home and forging a life in a new location. But Shiloh is now lost, literally removed from the maps. It no longer exists. When NASA needed a perimeter zone for the newly emerging space program in the 1950s, the federal government purchased large swaths of land between Oak Hill and Titusville, FL. Residents were bought out and forced to move. Houses were relocated or demolished. Shiloh disappeared into history while the space-age pushed forward into the future. However... some foundations still can be found in the woods not far away, if you know where to look. There are even cemeteries that remain, whispering the names of individuals and families. As a tribute to those early adventurers, we have named our place Camp Shiloh. We honor the past, we respect the wild Florida that surrounds us, and we celebrate the future as we watch rocket launches from our porch. You are welcome to stay on the property while you explore the local communities of New Smyrna and Titusville, relax at beautiful Canaveral National Seashore, attend races in Daytona, visit amusement parks in Orlando... or whatever! It’s up to you. We are a peaceful, safe location from which you can stage your Florida adventure. Come on by. We look forward to hosting you! Learn more about this land: Park your van/small RV or pitch your tent on our rural homestead conveniently located 1000 ft off of US Hwy 1. Nearest I-95 exit is 3 miles away. Watch rocket launches, visit nearby beaches, attend NASCAR races, see local communities, relax at Canaveral National Seashore, birdwatch at Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, fish Mosquito Lagoon, or visit the amusement parks of Orlando, we are a safe and quiet location from which to stage your adventures. We have two campsites. Site 1 is a nice level, grassy campsite for tent or RV, complete with a fire ring, picnic table, and firewood. Site 2 is the Glamping Greenhouse! Don't stay in the middle of another loud, packed campground. Enjoy the peace and quiet that only comes from staying in a quiet rural setting with absolutely NO other campers onsite. At Koblasz Farms, the value is in the privacy. You get the property to yourself, guaranteed. Walk with the animals. Talk with the animals. Koblasz Farms is one of the few farms remaining in Seminole County, and the only breeder of registered Scottish Highland Cattle. These beautiful girls are part of the oldest registered breed of cattle in the world. They will take your breath away as they mingle in your surrounding pastures. If you are lucky, you may even see one born. Few things in life are cuter than Scottish Highland calves, unless you ask the mini-donkeys or the goats that will do their best to convince you otherwise. Feeding experiences available. And wildlife abounds. You can expect to see deer, wild turkeys, eagles, hawks, cormorants, cranes, turtles, and other wildlife. We are conveniently located 40 minutes from Disney, an hour from Daytona Beach, 50 minutes from New Smyrna Beach, and 20 minutes from downtown Orlando. We are also minutes away from parks for hiking, picnicing, kayaking and canoeing on the Little Wekiva River including the Wekiva River State Park, Katie's Landing, and Wekiva Landing.

Our farm is off the beaten path surrounded by mossy oaks and lots of shade. If you are having a rough week, load up and relax on our working farm filled with miniature horses and numerous other adorable miniature animals that will be sure to put a smile on your face. Pack your camping gear, tents, vans or RVs and find peace away from the traffic and everyday stress. There is plenty of nature and you can take a long stroll to clear your head. Mount Dora is across the main street less than 5 minutes away. Our antique town is an amazing experience to explore with lots of history and complete with quaint shops and restaurants, boating and lots of things to do. Rennigers Antique Center is located right up the street (less than 5 minutes away) for some great picking. We are conveniently close to the Central Florida Attractions and the beach on both east and west coasts within an hour drivep. A few Campers favorite places to visit are Mount Dora Bike Trail - 2.6 miles, Kelly Park - 11 miles and Kings Landing 12 miles from farm. We offer youth day camps on various dates, pony rides and a tour of our farm animals for an additional fee. Reservations required in advance due to the other activities we have going on. In 2007, we had no idea where this adventure was going to take us. Our small urban farm was sharing our miniature animals with assisted living facilities and Neulife, where we have 3 miniature horses that live on their property. Little by little we have evolved into more of a need to share with the community and help others with the relaxing qualities our farm and animals have to offer, we want to be able to share and better educate with hands on experiences, teach kindness, patience, confidence and help others to be the best they can be. Thank you for your time and if you visit, share a review! Reviews are the best way for us to better ourselves and your experience. Have a great stay!

Welcome to our little homestead. Nestled amidst the serene countryside, this quaint campground offers a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life. Surrounded by lush farms and sprawling horse pastures, the air is filled with the sweet scent of wildflowers and the gentle rustle of leaves. With only a handful of RV spots and a few cozy tents scattered among the trees, guests can truly reconnect with nature while roasting marshmallows over crackling campfires under a blanket of stars. Here, the pace slows down, allowing visitors to unwind and immerse themselves in the simple pleasures of rural life. We just finished (well 2 years ago) traveling the country in an RV with five of our 7 kids (oldest two were in college) and we had a terrible time finding places to stay in Saint Augustine when we came home to visit. I hope that we can offer some nice people a safe and beautiful place to park their rig. Things to do: The property is near the historic St. Augustine, a fun walkable/bikeable city, lots of state parks and of course an awesome beach! Other things to note: 6 Miles away is 4 Lakes Campground with dumping facilities

Welcome to Red Barn Farm, a cozy tent camping spot on our small, working farm in Sanford, Florida, conveniently located near Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB). This is a relaxed, lived-in farm where you’ll experience real daily rhythms. While it’s not a silent retreat, many guests find the natural sounds of farm life—happy chickens, light family activity, and everyday rural noises—comforting and grounding. No neighbors are visible, though other properties are nearby. We are a work-from-home and homeschooling family, so you may see or hear us around the property during the day. We’re friendly and respectful of guest space, but this is not a private or unattended campground. We also have one older, calm dog who lives on the property. She’s gentle and used to people but may wander nearby from time to time. Campers have access to a full, clean indoor bathroom with a hot shower, a washer and dryer, and a small fire ring perfect for cozy evenings around the campfire. We also provide a picnic table, a hammock, and a small charcoal grill. In the morning, enjoy farm-fresh eggs for breakfast, collected from our own chickens. We’re close to local trails for hiking and biking, as well as downtown Sanford and Lake Mary. Theme parks and the beach are also less than an hour away. Red Barn Farm is ideal for guests who enjoy authenticity, family farm life, and a comfortable tent camping experience close to town while still feeling connected to nature. Good to know: • Tent camping only (no RVs) • Park vehicles in the driveway; walk to the campsite • Active, working farm (not completely quiet) • Owners are on-site, work from home, and homeschool • One older dog on the property • Full indoor bathroom access • Washer and dryer available • Small fire ring on site • Fresh eggs included • Located in Sanford, FL, near SFB

Parrot Palm Ranch Sanctuary

19. Parrot Palm Ranch Sanctuary

30mi from Port Orange · 2 sites · RVs, Lodging
The property sits on 50 acres with natural beauty. This is a great location to relax and unwind from your busy stressful life. We are located 2 1/2 miles down a wide county maintained dirt road. It is very quiet and private out here on the ranch. There are no close neighbors in the vicinity of our property. On the property, we have an exotic bird sanctuary about 200 feet from the RV site. At times you will think you are in the Amazon jungle. The birds are very playful, entertaining to watch them play throughout the day. You are more than welcome to go and interact with the birds. There are swinging hammock chairs hung up in the sanctuary for your comfort. There is a variety of wildlife out here every day. You will see turkeys, deer, raccoons, armadillos, wild boars and even on occasion a black bear. There is a fire pit by the Rv site that you can use to sit around in the evening and enjoy a fire if you wish. However, we don't recommend you go walking out into the swampy brush area, as there is a lot of Florida native wildlife like snakes and etc. and we want you to be safe. If you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city life. Our property is gated and fenced off and extremely private. And no one can just walk on to our ranch. We live and work on the property ourselves, and are just a short walk or phone call away. This is a very private place, no close neighbors. Our goal is to give you all the space and privacy you need and or require. Most of our guests are here to participate at an event at the Daytona 500 track. Only 35 minutes to get to the track in Daytona. We understand that alot of our guests are driving from long distances to get here. We will work with you on check in times not to worry. There is a ton of space to park your vehicle and trailer if needed. We are on well water out here in the country.

Red Barn Farm

Where to go

Canaveral National Seashore

Travel 30 minutes south to wander 24 miles of untouched white sand beaches at Canaveral National Seashore. Manatees, sea turtles, and other endangered species help create a unique coastal habitat to explore. The southern entrance has day-use beach areas (including a nude one), while the northern entrance gives easier access to Castle Windy and Eldora Hammock Trails. There are a small number of boat-accessible, primitive campsites located on nearby lagoon islands, though a permit and reservation are required to camp overnight. Canoe rentals are available after reserving one of the campsites.

Blue Spring State Park

Less than an hour inland from Port Orange, campers can boat through bubbles at Blue Spring State Park. Known for its massive manatees and limestone aquifer springs that create tiny bubbles, the park also offers boat tours, scuba diving, and snorkeling. During the winter months, campers flock to the boardwalks and observation decks to catch hundreds of manatees migrating. Summertime heat hosts fishing, swimming, paddling, and inner tubing. The park has one on-site campground offering six cabin rentals and a range of campsites with electrical hookups, fire rings, and picnic tables.

Hontoon Island State Park

Hop over to Hontoon Island for a peaceful paddle. Accessible by park ferry or private boat, Hontoon Island State Park serves pure serenity since motorized vehicles and swimming are prohibited. Campers can explore by bike, boat, or foot through the water-filled wilderness and tree-lined trails. Canoe and kayak rentals are available with the option to purchase an overnight slip if sleeping on-site. There is only one campground on the island that has docks on the water for camping in personal vessels, six rustic cabins, and 11 tent sites with picnic tables.

When to go

Port Orange’s climate is hot and humid year-round. The Floridian subtropic region sees summertime highs above 90°F. The warm weather is perfect for days by the beach and water sports, though campers should remember to stay hydrated and bring bug spray to use at dawn and dusk. Winter weather cools down to an average high in the 70s and low in the 50s overnight. Cooler temperatures are a great time to enjoy long-distance hiking and biking or campfires under the stars.
