(Be prepared for a lot of rooster crowing EARLY in the mornings). Our campsite was level and had water and electric. It was not too close to the other campers who were there and we had plenty of privacy. Star gazing was awesome! Highly recommend."

There are endless places to put a tent including by the lake, or completely private areas, or by the common areas to be close to a bathroom and kitchen and pavilion, water and electric. The amenities include a pavilion with an outside kitchen, dinning and living area. There is also a ( large shed converted to a ) cook shack with a full size fridge, microwave, electric burners and a toaster oven. There is also a bathroom with a full-size shower/tub, hot water and a toilet. It comes with all of the basics to be comfortable while you camp. Also, you have a good chance of being alone. we usually only book 1 party at a time, Just message me to confirm. The property has enough lighting to completely light up the common area. There is also water and electric all over the property. There is a shooting range right outside of the property that is part of the forest. There is Blue Sink several miles away, it is a spring feed swimming hole that is deep enough for SCUBA. There is horse trails and OHV trails as well. This camp was a hunting camp and still has an huge animal cleaning station on the back side of the property, with water, drainage, power, lighting and all stainless steel sinks and counters. Come to play and explore or come to relax. Our camp is always (slowly)being Improved, you might see work in progress so be aware there may be a consolidated area that looks messy. This is a camp, everything gets dusty, and there are bugs. We keep the yard kept up and do what we can to limit bugs in the common area. I recommend a 4x4 although I don’t own one my self. The roads are usually decent, but the weather has a lot to do with roads in the forest.

We stayed in cottage, it was very sweet and cozy. The hosts live onsite and were very kind and welcoming to us and our pup. Very dog friendly! I truly enjoyed my second retreat at Whispering Oaks Lakeside Sanctuary. The landscape is picturesque. It's quiet, tranquil, scenic, and peaceful, making it a perfect escape. Each morning, I was treated to breathtaking sunrises over the pond, which made every day special. I loved watching two young deer arrive daily, gently drinking water and playfully frolicking around the pond, adding a touch of nature’s charm. I also had a wonderful time cooking a meal at the fire pit. Electricity was provided with an extension cord giving me the conveniences that I needed in the van. The availability of running water and a nearby trash receptacle made the stay even more comfortable. Interlachen, a charming small town, offered a few nearby essentials: a small grocery store called Hitchcock's, a Post Office, a General Dollar store, and a CVS. Overall, Whispering Oaks Lakeside Sanctuary is a truly delightful place to unwind and enjoy a peaceful retreat. Erica, the hostess, is delightful and knowledgeable. She can offer a variety of recommendations for things to do or places to dine nearby. I appreciated her hospitality.
