Weekend Trip to Crews Adventures

I want to share how wonderful me and my significant other felt at this wonderful property. The hosts, Jesse and Lisa, are wonderful , they welcomed us with open arms. It's a beautiful and peaceful place to be. We highly recommend it 💯 and will definitely will return. We loved it.

3 nights at Roots ReTREEt in Old Florida

Great communication with the host, Jay, who was off property at the time. He made sure that we had what we needed and answered any questions that I had. Hospitable. Also an AWESOME caretaker of the property, Liz. She showed us around and told us about the animals in the area. Jay and Liz made this trip so amazing. The site felt completely private. My son and I spent almost all of our time down at the outside yard area where there was cooking and device using and relaxing and napping for four days. I loved the hot tub. My son and I got to watch our first space coast launch from the backyard. (Thanks Liz! I wouldn't have known it without you!) My kiddo loved that! The outside cooking area was awesome and great accessibility being able to use my cooking stove and utensils and I have a two slice toaster and a single burner with pans. I was able to feed my son what I would normally feed him. And while there is no shower hookup the water hose was more than adequate for just about everything we needed and there is water in the sink down at the outdoor cooking area. And it tastes clean. It was quiet outside of random cars on the back road. Nights were very quiet. I wish I had taken pictures of the area but I totally forgot while enjoying the hot tub on site 24/7. The cabana is very comfortable for a nap by the way. There are so many chairs, lounging was easy. Loved the tornado fans that kept the outside cool and mosquitos out. It was perfect. We're coming for my birthday in a month!

Weekend Trip to Jack's Landing-Old Florida +Pool!

Wow! What an experience! The oak recolonization on this lakeside lot is so beautiful. The weather this time of year is perfect in the evening (though a bit warm in the day). You might not expect it, but despite all of the growth to the north along the I-4 corridor, it's pretty much dark-sky country to the south, so the stars can be beautiful; got some great pictures we wish we could post here. The neighborhood seemed mostly quiet, but there were a few "monster" trucks passing by on the road up the hill from time to time. Would definitely stay again.

We came out for our 1 year anniversary and had a blast! Huge fish! A zip line. Nice screened in area with chairs and a porte potty. We went adventuring in the woods which we love to do! We will definitely be back here! Sandy was the perfect host and answered all the questions we had and could recommend great places to check out!!! Thank you for the hospitality!! Weekend Trip to Black Horse Resort Ranch Campground

Black horse ranch was my first time using Hipcamp and if all places are as amazing as this I will be using them all the time. Danielle and her workers were friendly and amazing. The property was huge and clean. There was so much offered. A communal Kitchen, game room, suoer nice bath house and laundry house. A POOL!! Horse stables and trails. The campsites seemed great I was in 7 right next to the bathhouse since I was in a camper van which was great for me. I also met several other people who stay there during the winter with their horses and they were so friendly. I honestly can’t say enough good things about Black horse ranch. If you are in the area or can make a trip that way please do!

Weekend Trip to 20 Acres Pond at Green Swamp

Courtney and Franky were really cool. They have great hospitality and are down to earth. They helped us with wood, setting up, understanding the natural habitats around the area and so much more. The host was helpful by helping us get to the difficult location by answering the phone promptly and resolving the issue. Overall a good stay.

I loved staying at this beautiful property in a quiet corner of old Florida. The surroundings were lovely, and Jay had everything we needed - a level camp spot, water and electricity, and a hot tub! I loved watching all the fireflies at night. Don't miss out on driving through nearby Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge and seeing all the birds.

Love this campsite! If you are not confident you can go camping in a tent but want to try, this is the spot for you! Includes electric and bathrooms and firewood and chairs. The place is private and cozy and clean.

North Shore Relic Ranch tee pee

The property is definitely different then most. The site itself is super spacious, and has great tree coverage from some ancient oaks. the site can hold up to an extra 5 tents if neened. There is solar power to the tee pee with a 750w solar inverter connected to two deep cycle batteries. Now to get to the site you have to go through the main busy part of the property (we literally have planes, trains and automobiles and more). But once you get to the site you feel the nature. Also right next to the property about 100 yd from where the property starts there is an entrance to a boat ramp (which has a 2 mi canal that goes to lake Apopka where you can launch a canoe or kayak, or do some fishing), also a 2.6 mi nature trail, and about 100 yd as well there is a 25 mile trail that you can bike, walk or horseback ride. That trail is a part of the Apopka wildlife drive which also starts not far from the property. It's a free nature drive on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays plus holidays. We are around 15 to 20 minutes from a few different springs such as wekiva springs, wekiva Island, Rock springs and Kings landing. We are about 45 minutes from SeaWorld, aquatica, volcano Bay, universal studios and more.

Gray Rock Cove

Gray Rock Cove is a beautiful 9.46 acre slice of old natural Florida. There’s room to stretch out and plenty of wildlife to see (plus some Barn Kitties who are employed as rodent control). Mostly grassy land with some old growth oaks and saw palmettos, while the back/North third of the property is a beautiful undisturbed Florida Wetlands with a small floating dock to enjoy some of the pristine scenery from. RV hookups (50a Power w/ 30a adapter, water, sewer) along a gravel RV pad, while there's also plenty of room for tent camping instead. A short drive to Mt. Dora, Eustis, Ocala, and The Villages. Easy access from the main road to reach the site. There's a 2-lane paved county road along the front of the property, with a dense greenery barrier blocking view of the road from most everywhere on the land. There is a small bathroom building with toilet, sink, and shower. No standard outlet (110v) power access other than a few outlets in the bathroom and utility room (available for phone charging if needed, but nothing high-amperage). We do have numerous water spigots sprinkled throughout the property (unfiltered well water). There's a spot for a campfire near the bathroom building and the campsite. There will be a patio table set and chairs, two plastic Adirondack Chairs near the water along with an old Jon Boat with paddles you're welcome to take out to explore the water with. It's all pretty shallow, mucky and plant filled like you'd expect a wetlands to be, but beautiful and peaceful nonetheless.

Camp Shiloh

It was populated by hardy, adventurous folks who made a way for themselves and their families by clearing a spot along the lagoon, building a home and forging a life in a new location. But Shiloh is now lost, literally removed from the maps. It no longer exists. When NASA needed a perimeter zone for the newly emerging space program in the 1950s, the federal government purchased large swaths of land between Oak Hill and Titusville, FL. Residents were bought out and forced to move. Houses were relocated or demolished. Shiloh disappeared into history while the space-age pushed forward into the future. However... some foundations still can be found in the woods not far away, if you know where to look. There are even cemeteries that remain, whispering the names of individuals and families. As a tribute to those early adventurers, we have named our place Camp Shiloh. We honor the past, we respect the wild Florida that surrounds us, and we celebrate the future as we watch rocket launches from our porch. "You're family here" is something she said all the time to people who came to stay, and it is truly at the heart of our ranch. Black Horse is a place to enjoy nature, camping, campfires, and good company, in a place that feels like home. The property is a beautiful campground nestled into a nook of the Ocala National Forest. We are surrounded on 3 sides by forest, and you can ride or hike straight from any of the many trailheads on property! We offer 30 and 50amp sites, there is a bath house with full bathrooms and laundry, a Community Kitchen you are welcome to use, a screened in Pavilion for meals or hanging out, a POOL! (yes you read that right!) and a Clubhouse with couches, games and all! We have a few rentals (a cabin and RV) and we are working on getting more. We do have wifi on the property, and we also offer golf cart rentals. If you have horses, you'll love coming to Black Horse. We are surrounded by countless trails through the forest with the trail heads sitting right on property, two barns for horses, many outdoor stalls and paddocks, wash racks, and an extra large riding arena. When NASA needed a perimeter zone for the newly emerging space program in the 1950s, the federal government purchased large swaths of land between Oak Hill and Titusville, FL. Residents were bought out and forced to move. Houses were relocated or demolished. Shiloh disappeared into history while the space-age pushed forward into the future. However... some foundations still can be found in the woods not far away, if you know where to look. There are even cemeteries that remain, whispering the names of individuals and families. As a tribute to those early adventurers, we have named our place Camp Shiloh. We honor the past, we respect the wild Florida that surrounds us, and we celebrate the future as we watch rocket launches from our porch. Gray Rock Cove is a beautiful 9.46 acre slice of old natural Florida. There’s room to stretch out and plenty of wildlife to see (plus some Barn Kitties who are employed as rodent control). Mostly grassy land with some old growth oaks and saw palmettos, while the back/North third of the property is a beautiful undisturbed Florida Wetlands with a small floating dock to enjoy some of the pristine scenery from. RV hookups (50a Power w/ 30a adapter, water, sewer) along a gravel RV pad, while there's also plenty of room for tent camping instead. A short drive to Mt. Dora, Eustis, Ocala, and The Villages. Easy access from the main road to reach the site. There's a 2-lane paved county road along the front of the property, with a dense greenery barrier blocking view of the road from most everywhere on the land. There is a small bathroom building with toilet, sink, and shower. No standard outlet (110v) power access other than a few outlets in the bathroom and utility room (available for phone charging if needed, but nothing high-amperage). We do have numerous water spigots sprinkled throughout the property (unfiltered well water). There's a spot for a campfire near the bathroom building and the campsite. There will be a patio table set and chairs, two plastic Adirondack Chairs near the water along with an old Jon Boat with paddles you're welcome to take out to explore the water with. It's all pretty shallow, mucky and plant filled like you'd expect a wetlands to be, but beautiful and peaceful nonetheless.
