Until you see it - you really may not understand. Parts of property are wide open, other areas are rugged and difficult to walk through including some wetland areas. Our RV and Tent Campsites are located in a grassy field next to dense woods. Electric and water hookups are included in the RV/Camper sites, but not the Tent Site. All sites have a picnic table and fire ring. Our newly renovated restrooms on the property have toilets and one shower. A boardwalk takes you along the Cotee River to our two open air pavilions with several places to sit and enjoy nature. Cell phone service is not a problem, as we are not remote (although it sort of feels like we are when you are here) - we are 5 min from downtown New Port Richey, 2 minutes from groceries, gas, restaurants. This beautiful slice of Old Florida is named for the Pithlachascotee River that bends along the back side of the property. Pithlo is the Creek word meaning canoe, and chaskita means to dig or chop out, together signifying "place where canoes are chopped or dug out". Seminoles of this area used canoes dug out from the great cypress trees found along Florida rivers. From the 1980s until 2014, this property was owned by the Cotee River Lions Club. They held a popular monthly pancake breakfast fundraiser in the large pavilion along the river. We purchased this 4.9 acres of land in late 2019. It is now where we live and have a woodworking shop. It has been a magical place for us, with no shortage of wildlife, rich jungle forest, a winding narrow river, and even the occasion river otter sighting. We are grateful to all the humans who have occupied this place over the centuries before us for keeping it as nature intended it. It is our intention to do our part to conserve and protect its natural beauty as long as possible. We hope you find it to be as restful and rejuvenating as we do.

The bathrooms and shower facility were clean and easily accessible. The property is located a half mile from anything you could possibly need yet gives you the feeling of being far away from it all. Highly recommended!!! Can’t wait to return!!

Weekend Trip to Bare RV Resort

My first experience at Bare RV Resort was fantastic. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from my first clothing-optional resort, but I immediately felt welcome, safe, and comfortable. What stood out most was the warm, respectful, and judgment-free atmosphere — it made for such a positive introduction to this kind of space. I visited with my friend, and we ended up making new friends during my stay, which made it even more special. The pool and hot tub were a highlight, and the whole resort felt cozy and inviting. It strikes a great balance of social and relaxed, and the location near other resorts in the area is a bonus. A wonderful first experience, and we will gladly return.

AMAZING!!! I can't say enough honestly. Our family goes to Orlando a couple times a year and have always stayed at the bigger campgrounds, Fort Wilderness, Margaritaville, etc. This was the most quiet, peaceful place we have ever stayed in Orlando. The people that are there we so nice and polite, and it didn't even seem like we were in the city at all. The site set up is awesome and the hot tub was my kids highlight lol. I will return over and over. The convenience of the location is near perfect to everything. Ginger was superb, and helpful with recommendations nearby as it was my wife's birthday. We can't thank you enough. Bottom line, AMAZING!!!!

2 nights at Picturesque Mango Tango Estate

Matthew was great. It is a little tight getting into the spot but wonderful when you get there. I used the provided sewer hose which was the easiest hookup ever. My 25' water hose was not quite long enough but I could have moved my camper to make it work. Instead I went to a nearby store for an extension. This quiet campsite at the beautiful lake is close to shopping for anything you might need for supplies. It's the best of both worlds.

We loved Wilderness Shores. The amount of wildlife we saw was just incredible. SO many birds, we witnessed an alligator eating a fish, a bald eagle swooped near our site! There was plenty of space and the kids loved petting the goats and seeing the longhorns graze. The sites are surrounded by old growth live oaks that are so beautiful. We have spent a year traveling and camping in various places and this was one of our favorites.

We camped in our little truck camper and had 30 amp power and water. There is a brand new shower room which is suuuuper nice and also a single restroom (gender neutral). The place itself is very quiet aside from an occasional car driving by, fenced to be quieter, and close to gas and groceries (basically around the corner). This is my second visit, brought the hubs this time, and his only complaint was that I did not book a long enough stay.

The sites are great with ample space. The facilities were clean and nice. The hosts are communicative and provide clear and ample instruction. My absolute favorite part was the walk to and sitting under the pavilion by the river. I loved the beautiful wood furniture to relax in. I meant to ask, but wondered if the owner had made the set himself. It’s hard to find campsites with power in this area, so this was great. If you’re tent camping, site 2 has a huge tree which kept my 10 person pop up tent in almost complete shade all day! The only downside I could find in my weeklong stay was the road traffic when using a tent. If you are a light sleeper, I would recommend sleeping in your vehicle or earplugs. It’s not that this road is very busy, but it is near larger Little Rd. I would certainly stay here again. Thank you Laura & J.R!

A wonderful place with great hosts! There is truly so much to love and this is a great find as many area campsites don’t have electricity.. My only recommendation if you are a light sleeper and staying in a tent, would be to sleep in your vehicle if that’s an option or bring earplugs. The road itself isn’t bad, but there were some very loud cars on a nearby road the nights I stayed. I would 100% go back!

Great little spot for us visiting legoland but feels like it could be pretty packed if all of the spots are booked as they are right beside each other. The animals were a nice add-on being able to see them and pet the goats when they were out.

Chris was an absolute gem, and so is the property. I was able to pull straight into his driveway since I wasn't planning to unhook, and it was an easy back-out when I left. This site is situated in a beautiful neighborhood and I took advantage of the nature preserve just down the street for noon-time walks. As a solo woman traveler I felt very safe at the property and in the neighborhood. Chris reached out the morning of my planned arrival to clarify my ETA and establish a line of communication. He came out to greet me when I arrived, made sure I had everything I needed and showed me where the hookups were, etc. Other than that he left me to my own devices and encouraged me to message him with any questions or needs. Very helpful and caring guy. Here's where Chris went from a great host to an exceptional one: not only did he give me permission to have an order shipped to his house, but when there was a huge mix-up, he took receipt of the package (which arrived after I had left) and made sure it was safe until UPS came to pick it up. It was an extra hassle for him and he was super cool about it. 10/10 would recommend.

Weekend Trip to Honey Bunny’s Urban Oasis

I loved the quiet yard with interesting plants as well as chickens. The neighborhood is wonderful! It is close to many bike-able spots. We rode through tree lined roads on our way to the bay and the local recreation center. Our host was very accommodating and promptly took care of any issues we had.
