The meadow is a personal favorite! Tom happily invited us on a tour of his wonderful farm. Doing so I learned so much about the fame and the 200+ years of history that lays beneath him. The farm house that overlooks the sheep pasture is (for reasons unknown) built around a 200+ year building that has the original shingles on it. He gave us a tour of the sheep meadow, donkey pen, cow field, and the rest of the property. All the while keeping us engaged with his story telling of the land. He convinced us to try to feed the sheep and cows and that they were friendly. Personally I have never fed farm animals before so it was a pretty cool experience! All the animals are used to people so there’s really no need to be scared. They all ate out of my hand! The cows were gentle and the sheep…. Really tried to get the food haha. There is plenty of dried fire wood all over the farm so bringing your own wood is not necessary. Unless you don’t want to cut down branches with an axe. But whats the farm experience without cutting your own wood. The meadow DOES have a small outlet and has electrical connections if you need to connect an RV which is a plus. The meadow was stunning at night. Overall the entire experience was nothing but positivity and good conversations filled with laughter. Highly recommend driving out and enjoying the time away from technology at Glenn Farm!

Weekend Trip to Bowman's Landing

Highly recommend! Peaceful, Clean, Great location! We stayed in one of the small cabins. Joe the host was awesome and told us much about the property. Lots of friendly dogs and free roaming chickens everywhere. Free coffee and amenities were very creative. We will be back and try some tent camping

We had a wonderful stay. Everyone there was welcoming and kind. As a woman traveling with 3 kids and a dog, a kind and helpful community was great. The cabin was perfect and river was beautiful. We were happy!

Very sweet and quiet spot with fantastic bathrooms and a kitchen. Stephen was kind and helpful. We were the only campers and the stars were beautiful. Having a hook up and water right at the site was great as we do a lot of boondocking without those. The porch was a great place to hang out and the sites were shaded. Thanks Stephen for letting us stay on short notice!

Weekend Trip to Glenn Farm

Arrowhead sink and Glenn Farm is a fantastic little get away! We booked this trip and Judy met us when we arrived. She graciously showed us the way to the camp site. She gave an inviting tour and showed us where the sink was. The sink is part of an underground river system. The sink is clean and free of trash. In fact it was so clean that it smelled like fresh moss and stone. The way a cave ought to smell. The sink is VERY deep but VERY refreshing in the summer time. Our entire campsite was overlooking a field which was very peaceful. Overnight you could hear owls hunting in the distance. The stars shine very bright and is very quiet. But if you are a beginner camper like myself, it’s still nice to hear civilization from afar as you get used to camping. Judy and Tom are both very friendly and love meeting campers. The entire property has many acres of farmland. This campsite and farm is a wonderful getaway for a day or two. Located just north of Gainesville most people take only a few hours to drive in. Overall highly recommended and plan on being back to this quaint farm. :)

Weekend Trip to Glenn Farm

We were in a camper and we were able to run ac on the 110 but made sure we didnt overload with multiple things running. The field was beautiful and fairly level. There is a picnic table, fire pit and some shade. Be prepared to wash off shoes cause youll get muck on the bottom which, hey its a farm. The donkeys were unbelievably friendly with my dog. We enjoyed connecting with nature and the animals. The open land helped to keep bugs away with wind. Tom was so cool and wish I lived close to hang with him more. Felt like visiting with a friend.

This is my second time staying here and I absolutely LOVE it. Both times ive stayed at the cave spot and it's just beautiful. Tom and judy are both wonderful hosts and the farmland is incredible.

I have stayed here before back in 2023, and I can say the same as I did then it is so magical here! Just the place I needed to be for my spring break from college to relax and enjoy nature stress free. The horses are so gentle and I enjoyed feeding them. Waking up to the roosters is so much more inviting than an alarm lol. Trudy is always the best host! My partner enjoyed all the games around and it got quite competitive! We also enjoyed some painting at the little paint station. I really recommended checking out the springs around in the area! But to top it off, my partner loved this place so much he proposed here! Like I said everything about this stay was magical and I can’t recommend it enough!

Weekend Trip to Suwannee River Glamping

The property itself is filled with magic. It is set next to the Florida Trail and the Suwannee River. The endless trails and nature not only sets it apart, but makes this campground unique. The amenities that are included in the site are well and above everything you need for camping. The covered patio is massive and has a microwave, fridge, grill, flattop and just about anything you need. My wife and two boys loved this place and we will be back :)

Everything is just as described or better. There's plenty of space for campers to wander and the sites are spread out enough to give everyone privacy. Each site has their own grill for cooking and seating area and the main house has even more options for cooking and lounging. Stargazers won't be disappointed as the location is very remote and free of light pollution. There's also a dollar general just a couple miles away in case you forgot any necessities.

We had an AMAZING stay here! Tom was a wonderful host and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. He greeted us when we arrived and took us around the property to show us the sinkhole and say hi to all the critters, and to help with getting to our campsite for the first time. The meadow was super quiet and peaceful, made for a really relaxing space to unwind after a long day at the nearby springs. Spending time with all the animals was just the cherry on top. Would give this place a 20/10, cannot say enough good things about it! 🩷

Glenn Farm

The farm you’re camping on is one of the last family farms remaining in Columbia County and is named Glenn Farm after DV Glenn who married Hettie Lou Niblack in the 1930’s. Over the last 150 years it has been farmed by some of the county’s oldest families such as the Niblack and Ellis families. When DV Glenn came to Florida from his farm in Cairo, GA he took over the portion of the Niblack farm that was inherited by his wife Hettie Lou. At that time he was running native Florida cattle on over 6000 acres. Unfortunately, In 1951 he was killed in a hunting accident leaving his wife with the farm and 4 children (ages 4-11). In order to survive, Hettie Lou Niblack Glenn was forced to sell 5000 acres at $25 an acre. Holding a bachelors degree from Florida State College for Women, she was able to secure a job at the University of Florida as a secretary and with the money from the land sale she was able to raise her four children. Of the original farm, 600 acres remain intact and the Glenn family is trying to keep the farm as an agricultural operation. Your campsite is 1 of 4 spots (Arrowhead Sink, Dunagan’s Meadow, North Hall Pasture or Magnolia Sink). We also have a 1 bedroom Tiny home that used to be the farm office. Dunagan’s meadow is a pasture behind the old farmhouse (built in 1824), Magnolia sink and The North Hall Pasture are also on the main farm while Arrowhead Sink is on the edge of a hayfield about a mile down a dirt road. Glenn Farm is a place to come relax and experience a world that is rapidly disappearing. It is not a commercial campground.

Suwannee River Glamping

In 1990 the State of Florida banned logging within 1,000 feet of the Suwannee River so Southeast Timberlands sold off it's holdings and we were lucky enough to purchase 6 acres and 444 feet of riverfront. A designated "Pristine Scenic Waterway" with very steep banks, the Suwannee is one of the few"wild" rivers left in the United States and can rise over 30 feet to flood stage almost overnight; yet due to its unique topography we can access it no matter how high or low the water. The Forest Service has bought up the surrounding lots, creating a 10 mile Conservation corridor supporting the National Scenic Florida Trail, it's clearly marked footpaths and natural attractions. To that end, we have left the old growth upland forest the way we found it. The campsite is a natural feature as is the Zen deck and canoe launch, a swale draining the ridge. The campsite is level, the lane to the river slopes gently dropping in elevation 20 feet over 1,000 in making it easy for able bodied guests to navigate their way to the white sugar sand beach. We want to share our retreat with those who are looking for a real wilderness experience in an exclusive private setting. A Waiver of Liability is required by all guests as the Wilderness is an inherently dangerous place. We only offer one accommodation per weekend with a maximum of 8 people so our guests can have the seclusion they desire and be free to enjoy the natural wonder of the woodland experience in any manner they choose.

Otter River Hideout is located by the Ichetucknee Spring State Park (8 mins. drive, 3.6 miles). For another short drive, head on over to Blue Hole Spring (15 mins, 7.9 miles), Ginnie Springs (19 mins. 13 miles), Rum Island Springs (19 mins, 13.7 miles), and Hornsby Spring (20 mins, 14.8 miles). Otter River Hideout amenities include water, sewer, electric (30 amp, 50 amp) and fire pit. Amazing camp site on 87 acres with open fields and grand daddy oaks with amazing sunrise and sunsets and plenty of open area for stargazing. Visit our 500 year old live oak tree. The property is 5 min to Interstate 75 (414 Exit). O'Leno State (https://www.floridastateparks.org/parks-and-trails/oleno-state-park) is a 5 min drive. We have a life time park pass so entry to the park is free for us. Please ask us about that. We have power and water only at our Hip-camp. We have 3 RV slips on the property, each with 50 Amp electric and water hookups. Ichetucknee Springs State Park (https://ichetuckneesprings.com/) 15-20 min drive from our site. We also have access to the private areas on Itchetucknee and Santa Fe River and have kayaks, paddle boards, tubes, and other inflatable. Ginnie Springs (https://ginniespringsoutdoors.com/) and Rum Island (https://www.lakecityfl.com/listing/rum-island-spring-and-park) are also a short drive from our site. We also have a large tent camping area with 5 tent sites that are covered and have access to power and water. The Radiant Oaks Center is adjacent to the R/V sites and camping area. This facility is used for retreats. R/V's and campers will have access to 2 full bathrooms and fully equipped ped kitchen area with refrigerator stove and microwave, coffeemaker and plenty pots, pans and dishes. The kitchen may have limited access during special events or retreats. There are several fire pits and open fields for frisbee, volley ball, horse shoes, and corn hole games in the camping area. The building also has a large covered outdoor pouch area with lights and fans for rainy days, to hang out. reading, card games, etc. As mentioned earlier, we are on 80+ acres and plenty of room to roam and trails to explore. The city of High Springs and Lake City are each a short drive away have lots of shops, restaurants, and groceries. Feel free to ask us for recommendations. This is a working agriculture area with lots of wild life. We are not responsible injuries caused by animals, fauna, or fences that you may encounter.
