You'll have the camp site all to yourself--we sometimes need to water the garden, but otherwise avoid the camping area when it's occupied. Enjoy a variety of seating areas on our half acre lot full of fruit trees and flowers, or watch the sunset from the hot tub. Camping is easy with washer, dryer, fridge, stove, microwave, dishes, coffee pot, toaster and blender, all in an air-conditioned shed. Don't want to cook inside? Use the propane Jennair grill with gazebo and lights. Clean up is a breeze with our stainless steel triple sink and 4 gal hot water tank. We're one block off US1 and 10-15 minutes by car to beach and downtown. Hang out around our stone fire pit or sit at our 6 person table with solar powered lighted umbrella. Wifi, electric and water included. Porta potty and outdoor shower with 8 gal. hot water tank. Two large outdoor sinks, one with 4 gal. hot water tank, the other one shares the 8 gal. tank with the shower. Relax on our Broyhill couch and easy chairs under the awning, and enjoy our latest addition, a fire table. Hang out in the new gazebo with mosquito netting and fabric panels on a Trex deck with a polycarbonate roof. Keep an eye out for hawks, owls, osprey and ibis. Our guests love staying here: "Camping at Gayle’s property was an amazing experience. We shared the field with 3 other campers but there was still plenty of room between sites. Land is flat and has fire pit spaces and BBQ grills. Outdoor shower was appreciated even though we didn’t use it & it was great to have the port-o-potty on site. The best part was getting to see the animals!"

I got in late and left early so I didn't get the full experience. That said, the communication and directions were good. It was close enough to rt 95 to make the quick overnight convenient. The place was clean and well appointed. You are staying on a farm so I would expect the normal farm sounds like cows and roosters. Plenty of parking and room for my small boat and trailer.

We throughly enjoyed our time. The canoes, kayaks and bunk house for the kids were great. Had a slight issue with the water, but the host got it fixed immediately. If you are looking for a spotless 5 stay luxury camping destination, this is not for you but has all the amenities you need. We hope to stay again.

We enjoyed our stay at Ryan’s Place. It was exactly what we needed for the weekend to explore Saint Augustine. Ryan was very helpful and friendly when we pulled up. The lot was quiet and our cats had lots of birds to watch out the front window. We would definitely recommend and stay again when passing through the area.

Weekend Trip to Wooded areas in a horse pasture

We stayed for two nights while visiting the St. Augustine area. Gayle is an easy going host. The horse pasture is a wide open pasture with several fire rings surrounded by trees. Lots of space between campers. My friend enjoyed the ceilingless shower. The porta potty along with the shower is about a 2-minute walk from the field. It would’ve been nice to have it closer to the field…bit of a long walk in the dark. Overall, we felt safe which is important for women traveling alone.

Loved camping here. It was a lovely spot and really interesting for the kids as there was horses, a pony and chickens all a short stroll from our tent. It kept them busy for hours!

Karen and Phil were great hosts. We had some trouble with our vehicle and there were more than glad to help us. They were very friendly and took time to show us around the property and even shared a cutting of a plant from her garden. This place was very clean and had great outdoor areas for us to hang out. It’s a beautiful property. My wife and I both loved the horses and the trees. The outdoor shower was great with the open sky above but still had complete privacy. It was just a few minutes from historic St. Augustine. We would definitely stay there again.

The property is an active horse farm. The camping area is nearby but separated from the horses. I enjoyed the property and the "rustic shower" was a memorable experience!

5 nights at Ry’s Retreat

I absolutely loved staying here! Super close to downtown and the beach but far enough from all the busy roads for privacy, quietness, and security. I’m a solo female travel with a pup and felt comfortable and safe the entire time. Easy to back in and hook up. They have the sweetest pup who was very friendly with my dogo. Ryan replied to all my messages super quickly and was really nice when I checked in. I would absolutely stay here again, it was a great way to spend Christmas!

Loved camping here! The family is very welcoming, the bathroom is clean, and the outdoor shower stays hot. The view is gorgeous and there's plenty of space between campsites. It is an open pasture so you can be seen by other campers, but hidden from the road. Some of the older reviews stated that they could hear trains all night, but I didn't hear any (I'm a light sleeper). My spouse said he heard it once. There were some gunshots, but that's to be expected with the location. It's also only 20 minutes from downtown St. Augustine which was awesome! We will definitely be booking here again. 😊
