Gainesville sits on the edge of the Florida panhandle, about 45 minutes north of Ocala. Starke is about 30 minutes to the northeast, while state capital Tallahassee is two hours northwest. Traveling with kids? You'll want to schedule a stop at Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park, just 10 miles south of Gainesville. In addition to being pleasingly alliterative, this park features breathtaking wildlife. You'll see free-roaming herds of wild bison and horses here. Climb the park's 50-foot observation tower to get a bird's-eye view. This park also features water access via Lake Wauberg. RV parks are especially popular in the Florida area. The farm you’re camping on is one of the last family farms remaining in Columbia County and is named Glenn Farm after DV Glenn who married Hettie Lou Niblack in the 1930’s. Over the last 150 years it has been farmed by some of the county’s oldest families such as the Niblack and Ellis families. When DV Glenn came to Florida from his farm in Cairo, GA he took over the portion of the Niblack farm that was inherited by his wife Hettie Lou. At that time he was running native Florida cattle on over 6000 acres. Unfortunately, In 1951 he was killed in a hunting accident leaving his wife with the farm and 4 children (ages 4-11). In order to survive, Hettie Lou Niblack Glenn was forced to sell 5000 acres at $25 an acre. Holding a bachelors degree from Florida State College for Women, she was able to secure a job at the University of Florida as a secretary and with the money from the land sale she was able to raise her four children. Of the original farm, 600 acres remain intact and the Glenn family is trying to keep the farm as an agricultural operation. Your campsite is 1 of 4 spots (Arrowhead Sink, Dunagan’s Meadow, North Hall Pasture or Magnolia Sink). We also have a 1 bedroom Tiny home that used to be the farm office. Dunagan’s meadow is a pasture behind the old farmhouse (built in 1824), Magnolia sink and The North Hall Pasture are also on the main farm while Arrowhead Sink is on the edge of a hayfield about a mile down a dirt road. Glenn Farm is a place to come relax and experience a world that is rapidly disappearing. It is not a commercial campground.

We LOVED camping in this charming A frame cabin! We brought our two pups and snuggled in for a perfect two nights in the woods. We made s’mores and quesadillas over the fire and had the best time ever. Allie and her father were incredibly friendly and responsive!

We didn’t know what to think before we arrived as we were just looking for a place to test out the new RV and Crossroads was very biker friendly. Turns out it was a perfect weekend. There just happened to be jack Russel Terrier races going on so there were dogs everywhere but the wife and I love dogs so it just added to the adventure. The campground was perfectly fine. Everything worked great. The only downside was we wanted full hookups and to get sewer we had to take a location close to annuals, but nobody messed with us or was loud. We walked the grounds and it was beautiful land. The waterfalls were all working and flowing as they should. We don’t drink much but the bar looked excellent. We did have a cheesecake on a stick and it was amazing. All in all it was excellent for the price. The owner was fantastic and very helpful even offering to let us use things if we forgot something.

The land is perfect for country cottage vibes. Collecting fresh eggs from the Hens every morning was a bonus. The cottage my husband and I rented was adorable, quaint, immaculate, had All kinds of appliances fully equipped and decorated kitchen necessities, toiletries, nick nacks, firewood and the s’mores kit was awesome! I especially enjoyed the birthday welcome note /card and tokens for our stay! Cassandra and Walt came by to greet us for our stay and we’re wonderful hosts. We plan on renting each unit until we make it around the property! What I enjoyed about our stay is it’s close to our home but far enough to feel like a hidden gem . We had a little glamping, camping and rustic tranquil vibes. The outdoor shower was so peaceful after going for a walk /run near the wood trails. We enjoyed every moment of our stay.

Tom and Judy were amazing hosts, very kind and helpful. The property was beautiful. Our large group enjoyed exploring and spending time with cows, sheep, and donkeys (especially the kids). At night, the stars dominated the sky, like a cloak studded with sparkling diamonds. I highly recommend this property.

Hosts are super nice and helpful. Beautiful large property and longhorn steer neighbors were quiet and curious. We had the place to ourselves and great to have our dog off-leash. So generous to include laundry and kayak use. We enjoyed a paddle up Rainbow River and drinks at Swampy’s bar and grille. Enjoyed local hikes too. Our best Hipcamp stay!

The Dune Sunflower campsite has a dedicated 6 ft picnic table and 3 ft diameter fire pit.

We had an amazing experience at Wildflower Ranch. The property is beautiful, peaceful, and exactly what we were hoping for—a perfect place to disconnect and enjoy nature with our family. Kim was an incredible host from start to finish. She was kind, attentive, and truly made us feel welcome. From the moment we arrived, she made sure we had everything we needed and checked in to make sure we were comfortable, without ever being intrusive. You can tell she genuinely cares about her guests and the experience they have at her ranch. The atmosphere was calm, relaxing, and well-maintained, and it felt very safe and family-friendly. We left feeling refreshed and already talking about coming back. Highly recommend Wildflower Ranch if you’re looking for a peaceful getaway with a host who goes above and beyond. I absolutely loved this spot! It’s so tranquil and beautiful. We brought our small 20 foot camper, and we had no problems with any of the hook ups. This campground is incredibly well kept, and peaceful. The bathrooms, the outdoor showers, and the trash area were very clean. The cabin looks absolutely adorable. Big shoutout to Mr. Tim for letting our five year old son check out his tractor. This one of the nicest spots we’ve found so far and will most definitely be staying here again!

Quaint grounds away from city life! I did not meet the host, but a family member, and he could not have been more friendly and welcoming. The out house is very clean and the shower is outdoor but not heated. It’s enough privacy to be modest and enough water pressure to get you clean. The sites are well maintained and spacious so there is room for privacy and the surrounding area is quiet! The camp was easy to find and at the time of stay (winter) no bugs or wildlife bothering you. It’s also close enough to town you can drive in for meals or supplies. And the amount of outdoor activity near by is fantastic. I would definitely stay again if I were traveling in the area.

Staying here was our favorite part of the trip! Great location, great eggs, awesome to see the chickens and we LOVED Calcifer! The friendliest cat, he hung out with us the entire time and really helped with us missing our cat back home! We had some eggs in the morning that we picked and washed ourselves! Would love to visit again!
