Weekend Trip to Glenn Farm

The meadow is a personal favorite! Tom happily invited us on a tour of his wonderful farm. Doing so I learned so much about the fame and the 200+ years of history that lays beneath him. The farm house that overlooks the sheep pasture is (for reasons unknown) built around a 200+ year building that has the original shingles on it. He gave us a tour of the sheep meadow, donkey pen, cow field, and the rest of the property. All the while keeping us engaged with his story telling of the land. He convinced us to try to feed the sheep and cows and that they were friendly. Personally I have never fed farm animals before so it was a pretty cool experience! All the animals are used to people so there’s really no need to be scared. They all ate out of my hand! The cows were gentle and the sheep…. Really tried to get the food haha. There is plenty of dried fire wood all over the farm so bringing your own wood is not necessary. Unless you don’t want to cut down branches with an axe. But whats the farm experience without cutting your own wood. The meadow DOES have a small outlet and has electrical connections if you need to connect an RV which is a plus. The meadow was stunning at night. Overall the entire experience was nothing but positivity and good conversations filled with laughter. Highly recommend driving out and enjoying the time away from technology at Glenn Farm!

Weekend Trip to Neal’s Nest

We were searching for just SIMPLE. Neals Nest and Tina and her husband provided that. It was simple and provided that quietness we were looking for. We met other campers everyone was friendly. Florida has a leash law for pets but everyone we met had pets and were respectful of dogs needing to be dogs and not be on a leash. We met with Tina and they have a awesome Pit bull who has an awesome friendly disposition my 6 lb Chihuahua fell in love with him. They became best friends, this place is beautiful, simple, and peaceful. It offers what as a first time camper in many years would look for. I highly recommend Neals. An RV'er who is a contractor has an RV there, they showed up an the community camp fire and introduced themselves they had 2 beautiful great danes and a gorgeous Chihuahua and were respectful to ask if we minded if their dogs were able to run around... obviously as dog owners we said we absolutely didn't mind... Just a great weekend.

Weekend Trip to Serene Forested Blueberry Farm

We had such a lovely time camping with friends at the Blueberry Farm! Cassandra is such a wonderful, thoughtful and considerate host. The sites are all lovely - clean, comfortable, and well equipped with so many special touches. We had a great time exploring the sites in Forest and hanging at the site playing games and enjoying the fire. This was my 3rd time staying at the Blueberry Farm and I can't wait to visit again.

Weekend Trip to Glenn Farm

Arrowhead sink and Glenn Farm is a fantastic little get away! We booked this trip and Judy met us when we arrived. She graciously showed us the way to the camp site. She gave an inviting tour and showed us where the sink was. The sink is part of an underground river system. The sink is clean and free of trash. In fact it was so clean that it smelled like fresh moss and stone. The way a cave ought to smell. The sink is VERY deep but VERY refreshing in the summer time. Our entire campsite was overlooking a field which was very peaceful. Overnight you could hear owls hunting in the distance. The stars shine very bright and is very quiet. But if you are a beginner camper like myself, it’s still nice to hear civilization from afar as you get used to camping. Judy and Tom are both very friendly and love meeting campers. The entire property has many acres of farmland. This campsite and farm is a wonderful getaway for a day or two. Located just north of Gainesville most people take only a few hours to drive in. Overall highly recommended and plan on being back to this quaint farm. :)

Weekend Trip to Glenn Farm

We were in a camper and we were able to run ac on the 110 but made sure we didnt overload with multiple things running. The field was beautiful and fairly level. There is a picnic table, fire pit and some shade. Be prepared to wash off shoes cause youll get muck on the bottom which, hey its a farm. The donkeys were unbelievably friendly with my dog. We enjoyed connecting with nature and the animals. The open land helped to keep bugs away with wind. Tom was so cool and wish I lived close to hang with him more. Felt like visiting with a friend.

1 night at Glenn Farm

This is my second time staying here and I absolutely LOVE it. Both times ive stayed at the cave spot and it's just beautiful. Tom and judy are both wonderful hosts and the farmland is incredible.

4 nights at Serene Forested Blueberry Farm

The Blueberry Farm was everything I had hoped for and more. The camper I stayed in (The Gunnisack) was the perfect combination of well-appointed, cozy, and rustic, with all the amenities to make for a comfortable experience. An excellent mattress, an AC, all necessary cooking implements, firewood, a fire bowl, tiki torches... Cassandra truly thought of everything. The Gunnisack is tucked away in a little wooded bower, so it's perfect for anyone in search of peace and quiet. I recommend this spot to anyone looking for a rustic, homey getaway that's close to all the amazing nature that Central Florida has to offer (the manatees, gators, monkeys, and incredible birds of Ocala National Forest are just a short drive away).

We LOVE camping at Glenn Farm! This is our 2nd time here and we'll keep coming back forever! This site is extremely private and quiet and the sink is really beautiful.

What an amazing place...In the amall country town of Inglis Fl, right north of Crystal River. On the weekends- Food, music and good time at the lodge/biker bar lol..Pure country living with full hook ups in a great place. . RV Living at the best 👌 👍 😍 🥰by the way these pictures are us walking through this amazing place that Frank did a lot of the work.. Biker bar, delicious food cooked by another biker to music to quiet times during the week. Never have we met such nice folks, old hippies having a blast.. Frank is a great host and Hewy helping & answering every question I had and I had plenty lol..Very unique experience.. we love it

1 night at Neal’s Nest

Amazing character! Had a long journey for a week traveling. It was late in the afternoon when I made contact. I was welcomed warmly on such short notice. Granted there was a previous HC that checked out just that afternoon. I explained how far away I was and asked if it were at all possible just to sleep there. I didn’t care about any other amenities come near midnight. The fact that I entered the glamper and it had good A/C, comfortable bed, and a good cold shower I was in a great position. I woke up feeling a calm knowing that that would be the day got back home. Really helped clear my head in a peaceful quite private area. That simple gesture from her will always be one of my favorite times crossing paths with a complete stranger. Hopefully each of you will be able to cross paths with Tina.

Had an amazing stay at Hookie’s Hideaway Forest Camp! Cassandra was a fantastic host—super friendly and welcoming. The outdoor shower with hot water was a great touch, and the campsite itself was peaceful and well-maintained. It’s a fantastic spot to visit with kids, and we loved getting fresh eggs from the farm’s chickens. Beautiful, relaxing vibes all around, and the location is perfect—close to the springs. Highly recommend!

3 nights at Wildflower Pond and Woodlands

This spot was so lovely! We stayed in the A-frame cabin that was cozy, we loved our campsite and this spot. Our last night of the three we heard the crickets and frogs chirping and it was pretty magical. Bummed we didn’t get to tour the farm, next time!

5 nights at Grazing Oaks Ranch RV and Horse Stables

We had a great trip to this Hipcamp! There were lots of animals there, you could make a new animal friend! My girls loved petting the horses and feeding the cows and ruby treats. We even learned a lot from the trainer on the property. Also, there’s a zip line and a swing! The trees were breathtaking and the property was beautiful! Oh and even some fruit trees on the property. It’s always a pleasure being in the middle of nowhere. Frank was helpful when we arrived and we even met others who were staying to enjoy s’mores with. The weather was magnificent too. Would def return!

The local Camping World in Lake City FL has a dump station, so I advise dumping your tanks before you arrive.Nice quiet area. Partially wooded, partially open grassy field. If you want total privacy and want to boondock (no hookups) you can go the the far edge of the field and park partially in the woods. Otherwise, you're near the shop and the house.

We have a life time park pass so entry to the park is free for us. Please ask us about that. We have power and water only at our Hip-camp. We have 3 RV slips on the property, each with 50 Amp electric and water hookups. Ichetucknee Springs State Park (https://ichetuckneesprings.com/) 15-20 min drive from our site. We also have access to the private areas on Itchetucknee and Santa Fe River and have kayaks, paddle boards, tubes, and other inflatable. Ginnie Springs (https://ginniespringsoutdoors.com/) and Rum Island (https://www.lakecityfl.com/listing/rum-island-spring-and-park) are also a short drive from our site. We also have a large tent camping area with 5 tent sites that are covered and have access to power and water. The Radiant Oaks Center is adjacent to the R/V sites and camping area. This facility is used for retreats. R/V's and campers will have access to 2 full bathrooms and fully equipped ped kitchen area with refrigerator stove and microwave, coffeemaker and plenty pots, pans and dishes. The kitchen may have limited access during special events or retreats. There are several fire pits and open fields for frisbee, volley ball, horse shoes, and corn hole games in the camping area. The building also has a large covered outdoor pouch area with lights and fans for rainy days, to hang out. reading, card games, etc. As mentioned earlier, we are on 80+ acres and plenty of room to roam and trails to explore. The city of High Springs and Lake City are each a short drive away have lots of shops, restaurants, and groceries. Feel free to ask us for recommendations. This is a working agriculture area with lots of wild life. We are not responsible injuries caused by animals, fauna, or fences that you may encounter.

If other pollinators decline like monarchs, it could have impacts on the food that humans rely on. Glenn Farm

The farm you’re camping on is one of the last family farms remaining in Columbia County and is named Glenn Farm after DV Glenn who married Hettie Lou Niblack in the 1930’s. Over the last 150 years it has been farmed by some of the county’s oldest families such as the Niblack and Ellis families. When DV Glenn came to Florida from his farm in Cairo, GA he took over the portion of the Niblack farm that was inherited by his wife Hettie Lou. At that time he was running native Florida cattle on over 6000 acres. Unfortunately, In 1951 he was killed in a hunting accident leaving his wife with the farm and 4 children (ages 4-11). In order to survive, Hettie Lou Niblack Glenn was forced to sell 5000 acres at $25 an acre. Holding a bachelors degree from Florida State College for Women, she was able to secure a job at the University of Florida as a secretary and with the money from the land sale she was able to raise her four children. Of the original farm, 600 acres remain intact and the Glenn family is trying to keep the farm as an agricultural operation. Your campsite is 1 of 4 spots (Arrowhead Sink, Dunagan’s Meadow, North Hall Pasture or Magnolia Sink). We also have a 1 bedroom Tiny home that used to be the farm office. Dunagan’s meadow is a pasture behind the old farmhouse (built in 1824), Magnolia sink and The North Hall Pasture are also on the main farm while Arrowhead Sink is on the edge of a hayfield about a mile down a dirt road. Glenn Farm is a place to come relax and experience a world that is rapidly disappearing. It is not a commercial campground.

Caceres Organic Blueberry & Turmeric Farms is nestled in the heart of the Suwannee River Water Basin, home to some some of the most beautiful freshwater springs in the world. We have been a WWOOF host since 2011. Over 500 organic volunteers from around the world have lived and worked at the farm so we are used to creating an atmosphere of community and sustainable living. We have cleared tent camping lots for Hip Campers in front of the on-property lake with easy access to swimming and fishing. There are two solar shower stalls with hot water powered by the sun. It is specifically built to overlook the main blueberry field and peach grove. Stunning views at sunset. An outhouse / composting toilet is currently under construction with the rain water collection system now complete. In the meantime a portable toilet is provided. A potable water station is available and built from re-purposed materials and wood harvested locally. We are a working farm. We supply every Lucky's Market location with fresh turmeric and a host of stores with our blueberries. We also have an active u-pick program during the blueberry and peach harvests (late March to early June) that is available to Hip Campers. There are multiple springs within 30 miles in various directions - some of them of First Magnitude volume. Ichetucknee Springs offers excellent river rafting. Ginnie Springs offers world class underwater cave diving -PADI license required. Manatee Springs and Fanning Springs consistently offer up close sightings of Manatees without the crowds of Crystal River. There is also a boat launch on the Suwannee River just minutes from the farm for boating, skiing and fishing. Bob's River Place is minutes away.The Gulf of Mexico is just 40 miles away. Scalloping season begins June 15 this year and runs to September. Oyster season lasts all winter. You'll come as a guest and leave as a friend! No smoking in our units, no pets due to our animals and our Anatolian guard dog who will love you but not a pooch they don't know. We're minutes from town (1.5 miles to the Jonesville Publix) yet totally private. You'll have 8 beautiful acres all to yourself with power, water, and super fast internet. Our caretakers home is about 500ft away but you'll be facing west for the stunning sunsets through the oak trees and won't see it. Although they're ready to help should you need anything. About 1500ft away, and not seen, is the main house, gym, and sauna. You'll be surrounded by stunning Florida nature and most importantly dozens of rescued farm animals that now call Peacefield home. During your stay they won't be in your field but you can say hello through as they'll be your neighbors across the fence. We're also more than happy to give you a farm tour anytime during your stay. You're also welcome eat anything that is ripe on the fruit trees or that is ready in the garden. You'll also have access to our gym and sauna which are shared. It's about a 10 minute walk away up towards the main house. There you'll find a Peloton bike, peloton treadmill, peloton rower, yoga mats, TRX straps, a few free weights, AND Finnish sauna! It's a sanctuary for humans too :) Please note there is no restroom or RV hookup for waste. Vegan Stuff! Because we rescue farm animals we ask that no animals products be brought in, cooked or consumed on property out of respect for them. Please keep it 100% vegan. If this is new for you, as it was for us at first, don't worry, it's way easier than you think. Oatmeal, avocado toast, black bean tacos, etc. Whatever you already love, just veganise it. And the nearby Publix, or pretty much any grocery store, will have vegan pizza, burgers, and nearly anything you'd crave. We know this lifestyle might be new to you but it's the best thing we've ever done. Your stay could double as a cleanse from the standard American diet. Again, the sanctuary lives up to it's name and is an incredibly special and peaceful place. Run down the tree covered road, do yoga under an oak tree, enjoy the sauna, take a Peloton class, read to the chickens (they love a good story), meditate with the pigs, and so much more. Peacefield is a retreat and a tranquil escape for animals and humans:) We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and the this space directly supports the animals and our mission. These funds will be used for food, medicine, rescue operations, the emergency vet fund, and so much more! Location One of the coolest things about this place is that it feels so private and secluded yet less than 2 miles to Publix. Approximately 10 miles to downtown Gainesville, The Swamp (UF Stadium), The University of Florida, Whole Foods, and more! This is also a perfect launching pad to explore all the amazing natural springs in north central Florida. Ginnie Springs, and Ichetucknee Springs State Park are some of our favorites - and you're more than welcome to borrow some tubes and pumps. Although we're a little ways from the beach we do have beach chairs and umbrella for your use. Cedar key is about 45 minutes and St Augustine or Crescent Beach is about 1.5 hours. We live near one of the most beautiful roads for running and biking. Tree covered canopy for miles! Guest access Interacting with the animals. You can feed them and say hi from outside of their enclosures and pastures, but do not go in with them unless we are with you. Please always shut doors and gates behind you - they are sweet but escape artists :)
