A few Campers favorite places to visit are Mount Dora Bike Trail - 2.6 miles, Kelly Park - 11 miles and Kings Landing 12 miles from farm. We offer youth day camps on various dates, pony rides and a tour of our farm animals for an additional fee. Reservations required in advance due to the other activities we have going on. In 2007, we had no idea where this adventure was going to take us. Our small urban farm was sharing our miniature animals with assisted living facilities and Neulife, where we have 3 miniature horses that live on their property. Little by little we have evolved into more of a need to share with the community and help others with the relaxing qualities our farm and animals have to offer, we want to be able to share and better educate with hands on experiences, teach kindness, patience, confidence and help others to be the best they can be. Weekend Trip to True Trail Farm

The grounds were lovely and peaceful; animals were fun to watch during the day and quiet at night. Hosts were welcoming and then gave us privacy. Highly recommended - I hope to stay again.

We loved our stay at Jay's property! The retreat is beautiful and well maintained. The property manager, Liz, was very friendly and helpful! Jay was very responsive to inquiries and made sure we had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable! We definitely recommend Steely East at Roots ReTREEt! You won't be disappointed!

I loved the campsite, very secluded. Nicest portapottie I have been in. Lots of wildlife sounds but nothing of a nuisance! Even had a great sunset on the last night. Jim is very nice and showed us where to go when we got there. Would definitely stay again.

We had such a great time!! This camping spot is perfect! We were surrounded by beautiful scenery! The owner was incredibly responsive and helpful! The location is walking distance to a beautiful hiking path and fishing spot. We also did the free Nature drive, which is close by, and I highly recommend it! I would definitely book this spot again!!

Weekend Trip to Camp Wild Fern

From the magical Spanish moss covered trees, to the clucking chickens. Everything about this secluded paradise is amazing. Very private and tucked away. My daughter and I spent 2 nights here and had an amazing time. Plenty of room for camping activities and parking right at the camp site is a life saver. Pictures don't do this property justice. You could sit for hours watching owls and birds of all types. Sunrays glimming threw the massive trees is breathtaking. Plenty of shade all day! Will definitely try to make another trip soon.

My family and I had a great time tent camping at the Relic Ranch. The hosts were very nice and attentive to our needs. Our kids had a blast feeding the farm animals and there’s also a hiking trail near by walking distance from the camp site. We’ll definitely be back!

We loved staying at this farm! We purchased treats to feed the cows/donkeys and our 2 year old thought this was the greatest! We also purchased duck eggs and they were so good. They do have untraditional water/electric hook-ups, but we had no trouble connecting.

We had a great stay at Penny Lane! Mark and his wife were welcoming and made sure we had everything (50 to 30 converter). Their land is nestled amongst pet horses, chickens and moss covered oaks. I was peaceful yet minutes from Mount Dora and several hiking trailheads.

Weekend Trip to Roots ReTREEt in Old Florida

Jay’s place is such a gem! I booked last minute for one night on my way to south Florida and wish I could have stayed longer. The property is huge and beautiful, with big shade trees and a relaxed, old Florida vibe. Jay was out of town during my stay but Todd and Liz, the hosts/caretakers, could not have been nicer or more accommodating (thanks again for everything Liz!) Highly recommended!

I’ve absolutely enjoyed my stay at the Venus campsite. Jen’s a phenomenal host, very friendly, and willing to give you any suggestions for places around here. I loved it so much that I booked a couple extra days.. so very peaceful and the stars at night are absolutely amazing. Both my dog and I very much enjoyed the animals, especially Hickory the horse.! I highly recommend coming and Camping at Jen’s Homestead 😊

When to go

Daytona Beach is a popular spring break party beach, meaning crowds surge in March and April. A few other major Daytona events that may make for a louder trip: the Daytona 500 motor race held each February at the Daytona International Speedway, the Daytona Beach Bike Week motorcycle rally in March, and the Biketoberfest motorcycle rally in October. Otherwise, expect temperate winters and hot, rainy summers.
