Weekend Trip to Shannon Trails bring your horses

Canopy over picnic table and an outdoor sofa made our trip so easy when the weather went ugly. There was a big grill and a lot of woods for cooking or just making fire. Bathroom was next to the camping site. Dish soap and sponge were there for us to clean our cooking utensils. Hot water shower is consistent, and good pressure.

Weekend Trip to Happy Campers Rescue Ranch

Arcadio was super helpful upon arriving. He helped us switch campsites with such ease to one that would be more suitable for the amount of people we had and gave a timely refund for the one we didn’t use. The land itself is great, too. There are fire pits, chairs, and tables provided in great condition. Plenty of firewood spread around. And a lot of animal noises (farm and wildlife) that made the trip feel like camping. There’s also a great swimming area like 7 minutes away Arcadia told us about.

Weekend Trip to Pure Paradise Lebanon station

I loved camping here so peaceful and serene. The waterfall feature was not on but it was really cool anyhow specially at night with it all lit up. Frank the owner is amazing he met us with a happy greeting gave us the Option of 2 different sites and also let us borrow his 50 to 30 amp plug for our camper because we had forgotten ours. There is a really cool Bar with a pool table and lots of seating and a small restaurant for you to eat there on site. It was an amazing place and can't wait to pass through again. Thank you Frank again for letting us stay there.

3 nights at Homosassa Springs RV Site

We loved the place....so quiet and serene. Easy to pull in our 33 ft trailer. The water is crystal clear and we sat on the dock for hours watching the fish jump and the ducks swim by. We even saw a baby manatee ! Used the kayak and visited the swimming area and saw a few more manatees. The site is located in the front yard under trees and very private. The dock is around the back of the property. It's close to everything so if you forgot something....there is a store nearby for you.

1 night at Wildflower Ranch

Great open land with nice clusters of trees for cooling shade. Owner does an excellent job in providing a bin of some essentials along with a very detailed and organized binder that explains everything you need to know to ensure the best experience possible. All the rules are clear so there’s little left but to relax and enjoy the property. They provide all kinds of add ons including access to a very nice gym. Restrooms and showers were some of the nicest hip camp amenities Ive seen, all cooled by brand new air-conditioners. Cold and hot filtered bottle water is provided to refill your camp supply. We saw several gopher turtles and the bird watching was incredible with 11 different varieties in one evening. We would definitely go back and visit again.

2 nights at Manatee Delight RV Camp Site

My partner and i had such a wonderful time at Kate’s property! We saw so many adorable manatees! We loved being able to use her kayaks and take them out on the crystal clear canals and rivers. The campsite itself is private but well lit at night, and we loved the jungle-like setting. We felt like we were in a different country! It was so beautiful. Kate was very responsive every time we messaged her and was very kind. The camp seems very secluded but once you’re out on the river there are lots of boats, families, and wildlife. I highly recommend manatee delight for nature lovers!

Weekend Trip to Big Oaks Dog And Horse Camping

I recently stayed at a wonderful family farm in my RV, and it was a pleasant experience. The site was private and peaceful, providing the perfect escape. My dog absolutely loved running freely in the open pasture, which was such a treat. The hosts were incredibly welcoming. The husband kindly helped me hook up my utilities, and Jessica, the wife, even brought out her dogs to greet me, adding a personal and friendly touch. To top it all off, a charming pig stopped by to visit me this morning-such a delightful surprise. The setup and hospitality were fantastic. I loved every moment of my stay and would definitely return. Highly recommend!

I took my dad here for his birthday and we LOVED it! It was so nice!! Frank was friendly and accommodating! As was everyone there! Facilities were well maintained and very clean! There was also a really cool spot to hangout on the weekend which is on site! The food was amazing and the vibes were on point!

Campsite was quiet and peaceful, not crowded. I had water and electrical hookups for my van. Quiet at night even with the biker bar on property. I felt safe staying here. Outdoor showers were great, private, hot water! Bathrooms were clean and blissfully air conditioned!

3 nights at Pure Paradise Lebanon station

Frank the host works hard to keep up his property and is updating it when he can. There are currently about 4 FHU sites available (partially shaded) the others have full-time residents in them. Then there are 10 sites that have water (non-potable) & electric only. These are in a field with little to no shade. They is a ton of primitive campsites and these do provide shade. The restrooms are near the bar barn and the showers are near the FHU sites. The waterfall does not run all the time usually on weekends or for special events. There is NOT a party going on all the time. Some Fridays have a karaoke person in. If you really want to know when there's a big event I suggest you contact the host. Otherwise just enjoy the quiet. If you want to party or be busy Crystal River and Dunnellon are only about 25 minutes away. We happened to be there for a benefit for a local resident who needs a medical procedure. And some good money was raised for him, hope all goes well. Yes there are many motorcycle enthusiasts that make their weekend end trip out to the property.

The location was easy to find. Arcadia and his wife were absolutely welcoming and accommodating. The lots are spacious, easily accessible as well as comfortable. All and all a very charming experience I would definitely recommend! 10 out of 10! Don’t forget to ask Arcadia where to catch raddest sunset! 🌅

Weekend Trip to Happy Campers Rescue Ranch

I really enjoyed camping with my family here. The people that run the campground even went out and hit a whole bunch of eggs around the campsite so all the little children can do an Easter egg hunt when they woke up in the morning. The Host that runs the camp is an awesome person and treats the campers with the utmost respect. I will definitely be coming here in the future with my family for future camping trips.

We initially were going to be snowbirds and make this our winter vacation home. After much thought and many winters in PA, we decided to sell our home and make the move south. It was a difficult decision to leave our family, friends and what was comfortable to us. About 3 years after our move, our neighbor asked if we were interested in his property. My husband Jeff and I discussed it and thought it would be a great idea to have a little more land. To make a long story short, that land somehow became Paradise Park River Retreat. Extra parking for one vehicle only. Basically this is a large parking area for the home. However the home has a separate drive and garage parking so we rent this space for RVs and Campers. These beautiful pollinators have been on Earth about 175 million years from what we can gather from fossils. Beyond the splendor that would be lost from the world if monarch butterflies went extinct, there would be ripple effects in the environment. Monarchs share their habitat with many other species of insects and birds. The birds would lose a food source, and their decline is the proverbial “canary in the coal mine” for other pollinators. If other pollinators decline like monarchs, it could have impacts on the food that humans rely on. This year (2024) we hope to finally get the Monarch Butterfly put on the endangered species list and see them rebound in numbers. So when you stay here you are also making a contribution that provides a safe chemical free environment for these super pollinators to multiply once again. We have been a WWOOF host since 2011. Over 500 organic volunteers from around the world have lived and worked at the farm so we are used to creating an atmosphere of community and sustainable living. We have cleared tent camping lots for Hip Campers in front of the on-property lake with easy access to swimming and fishing. There are two solar shower stalls with hot water powered by the sun. It is specifically built to overlook the main blueberry field and peach grove. Stunning views at sunset. An outhouse / composting toilet is currently under construction with the rain water collection system now complete. In the meantime a portable toilet is provided. A potable water station is available and built from re-purposed materials and wood harvested locally. We are a working farm. We supply every Lucky's Market location with fresh turmeric and a host of stores with our blueberries. We also have an active u-pick program during the blueberry and peach harvests (late March to early June) that is available to Hip Campers. There are multiple springs within 30 miles in various directions - some of them of First Magnitude volume. Ichetucknee Springs offers excellent river rafting. Ginnie Springs offers world class underwater cave diving -PADI license required. Manatee Springs and Fanning Springs consistently offer up close sightings of Manatees without the crowds of Crystal River. You’ll pass Homosassa and their State Park (the oldest Hippo Lu (65) lives here). At the waterfront restaurant ‘Crumps’ you can watch monkeys on an island! Dames Cave in Lecanto is about 17 minutes from here with multiple caves to explore. The famous Weeki Wachee Springs State park is a 15 minute drive south highway 19. Howard’s Flea Market is the largest in Citrus County, 10 minutes north from the camp site. ‚Adventure Flg X’ is a fun Zip Line park in Brooksville. Rainbow River Springs is an hour north from Twin Pines. The park has beautiful scenic trails and a water temperature of 72 degrees year round which invites you to explore the river in a tube or kayak. The Weeki Wachee preserve is another beautiful, close spot worth visiting. Disney World, Legoland and Universal Studios are within two hours. We're minutes from town (1.5 miles to the Jonesville Publix) yet totally private. You'll have 8 beautiful acres all to yourself with power, water, and super fast internet. Our caretakers home is about 500ft away but you'll be facing west for the stunning sunsets through the oak trees and won't see it. Although they're ready to help should you need anything. About 1500ft away, and not seen, is the main house, gym, and sauna. You'll be surrounded by stunning Florida nature and most importantly dozens of rescued farm animals that now call Peacefield home. During your stay they won't be in your field but you can say hello through as they'll be your neighbors across the fence. We're also more than happy to give you a farm tour anytime during your stay. You're also welcome eat anything that is ripe on the fruit trees or that is ready in the garden. You'll also have access to our gym and sauna which are shared. It's about a 10 minute walk away up towards the main house. There you'll find a Peloton bike, peloton treadmill, peloton rower, yoga mats, TRX straps, a few free weights, AND Finnish sauna! It's a sanctuary for humans too :) Please note there is no restroom or RV hookup for waste. Vegan Stuff! Because we rescue farm animals we ask that no animals products be brought in, cooked or consumed on property out of respect for them. Please keep it 100% vegan. If this is new for you, as it was for us at first, don't worry, it's way easier than you think. Oatmeal, avocado toast, black bean tacos, etc. Whatever you already love, just veganise it. And the nearby Publix, or pretty much any grocery store, will have vegan pizza, burgers, and nearly anything you'd crave. We know this lifestyle might be new to you but it's the best thing we've ever done. Your stay could double as a cleanse from the standard American diet. Again, the sanctuary lives up to it's name and is an incredibly special and peaceful place. Run down the tree covered road, do yoga under an oak tree, enjoy the sauna, take a Peloton class, read to the chickens (they love a good story), meditate with the pigs, and so much more. Peacefield is a retreat and a tranquil escape for animals and humans:) We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and the this space directly supports the animals and our mission. These funds will be used for food, medicine, rescue operations, the emergency vet fund, and so much more! Location One of the coolest things about this place is that it feels so private and secluded yet less than 2 miles to Publix. Approximately 10 miles to downtown Gainesville, The Swamp (UF Stadium), The University of Florida, Whole Foods, and more! This is also a perfect launching pad to explore all the amazing natural springs in north central Florida.
