Gorgeous grounds & very peaceful yet close to everything you need!

1 night at North Shore Relic Ranch

The site was beautiful and very well kept with chairs, fire pit, and lights. The host was very kind and very flexible with us as we arrived late at night and he still met us to guide us to our site. The relics are pretty neat to go see as well as the cows. One thing to note is the mosquitoes are absolutely ruthless out there because it’s in swampy area, so bring loads of strong bug spray.

What a treasure to find! The #2 tent spot is secluded enough for complete privacy, but close enough to the main house that I felt safe, camping alone as a woman. All the ammenities are there, water and standard 120v electric at the site, picnic table, fire pit and well-maintained grounds. It's approx. a 25 min drive to the Speedway and downtown. This is now where I will stay every tine I visit Daytona. I attended Jeep week. When I arrived, I knew my initial accomodations weren't going to work for me, I needed a quiet spot to wind down at night. I reached out and Mindy responded right away, answered all of my questions and I was booked within 20 mins. She even sent me a detailed map and instructions on how to find my spot, the showers and the kitchen. As an Airbnb host of several units myself, my expectations can be high. This is a hidden gem so near to downtown.

I think we saw 8 different kinds of butterflies. It was so relaxing to just watch them. The site had a brand new picnic table and fire ring. There are trees all around every site so you have some privacy from neighbors. Really enjoyed our stay.

Weekend Trip to The Promised Land

We enjoyed our brief stay at the Promise. Just what we were looking for, a quiet place to stop for a day. With the recent dry weather the sand in the wooded area was quite loose though we had no issues getting in and out. I would advise a quick recon on foot before you go in mostly to confirm a route through the woods. There are a couple of options and it’s helpful to know which one works for you. Our stay was brief but enjoyable. Very quiet and heavily shaded site with options to stay in the field before the woods if desired. The shade was welcomed and cut the heat considerably compared to the field. We would definitely stay again when we are in the area.

4 nights at Roots ReTREEt in Old Florida

We loved staying at Jay's. He was very welcoming and went out of his way to help us out. The description is exactly as listed. He has a couple of options for set up locations. His property has the feeling of being remote. However, you are only a few minutes away from grocery and some other stores and restaurants. It is a short drive to the beach or inland water way/Indian River. Jay was available and easy to get in contact with. He helped us with many questions about the area and where to go. We were even able to catch two rocket launches just from the back yard. If you want a quieter Florida experience give Jay's place a visit. Next time we are in the area or passing through, this will be our stay of choice.

Quiet and peaceful. Hosts are awesome! If you want a quiet secluded place to unwind this is it. A home away from home for our RV life. We will be back!

Property is very well maintained. We rarely saw a mosquito. It was probably one of the nicest out houses. We enjoyed our time at this camp. And even loved the breeze that came through with a coffee in the morning. It was nice!

This was an enjoyable stay! The land was nice with a mix of mature trees and palms for a nice shade. Lot 1 has solar lights at night which I enjoyed in the evenings. The privy (bathroom) was charming and something I hadn’t experienced before but very clean. The glass house on the other lot was super adorable and I will return to stay there! :) My favorite part was the host, she was sweet and friendly and has an understandable pride in her humble homestead. Both hosts are attentive and professional. I’ll be back. 😊

Nice quite portion of the owners property. Provided a nice wooden fenced area with low illumination lights. Would recommend this to anyone traveling through Florida near Kennedy Space Center.

Great place to relax and adventure! The sites offer so much privacy, far apart and owner kept most trees. Buggy, I'd highly recommend DEET. We will definitely be coming back, everything was perfect. Some awfully friendly cows, too!

It was away from city yet close to main stores. The host was great and explained the farm. The kids even saw an armadillo running around.

5 J’s Camp is completely private 2.5 acres that backs the Ocala National Forest in Umatilla . This our family getaway, we are a family of 5 and we all have names that start the letter J. There are endless places to put a tent including by the lake, or completely private areas, or by the common areas to be close to a bathroom and kitchen and pavilion, water and electric. The amenities include a pavilion with an outside kitchen, dinning and living area. There is also a ( large shed converted to a ) cook shack with a full size fridge, microwave, electric burners and a toaster oven. There is also a bathroom with a full-size shower/tub, hot water and a toilet. It comes with all of the basics to be comfortable while you camp. Also, you have a good chance of being alone. we usually only book 1 party at a time, Just message me to confirm. The property has enough lighting to completely light up the common area. There is also water and electric all over the property. There is a shooting range right outside of the property that is part of the forest. There is Blue Sink several miles away, it is a spring feed swimming hole that is deep enough for SCUBA. There is horse trails and OHV trails as well. This camp was a hunting camp and still has an huge animal cleaning station on the back side of the property, with water, drainage, power, lighting and all stainless steel sinks and counters. Come to play and explore or come to relax. Our camp is always (slowly)being Improved, you might see work in progress so be aware there may be a consolidated area that looks messy. This is a camp, everything gets dusty, and there are bugs. We keep the yard kept up and do what we can to limit bugs in the common area. I recommend a 4x4 although I don’t own one my self. The roads are usually decent, but the weather has a lot to do with roads in the forest.

North Shore Relic Ranch tee pee

The property is definitely different then most. The site itself is super spacious, and has great tree coverage from some ancient oaks. the site can hold up to an extra 5 tents if neened. There is solar power to the tee pee with a 750w solar inverter connected to two deep cycle batteries. Now to get to the site you have to go through the main busy part of the property (we literally have planes, trains and automobiles and more). But once you get to the site you feel the nature. Also right next to the property about 100 yd from where the property starts there is an entrance to a boat ramp (which has a 2 mi canal that goes to lake Apopka where you can launch a canoe or kayak, or do some fishing), also a 2.6 mi nature trail, and about 100 yd as well there is a 25 mile trail that you can bike, walk or horseback ride. That trail is a part of the Apopka wildlife drive which also starts not far from the property. It's a free nature drive on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays plus holidays. We are around 15 to 20 minutes from a few different springs such as wekiva springs, wekiva Island, Rock springs and Kings landing. We are about 45 minutes from SeaWorld, aquatica, volcano Bay, universal studios and more.

Mostly grassy land with some old growth oaks and saw palmettos, while the back/North third of the property is a beautiful undisturbed Florida Wetlands with a small floating dock to enjoy some of the pristine scenery from. RV hookups (50a Power w/ 30a adapter, water, sewer) along a gravel RV pad, while there's also plenty of room for tent camping instead. A short drive to Mt. Dora, Eustis, Ocala, and The Villages. Easy access from the main road to reach the site. There's a 2-lane paved county road along the front of the property, with a dense greenery barrier blocking view of the road from most everywhere on the land. There is a small bathroom building with toilet, sink, and shower. No standard outlet (110v) power access other than a few outlets in the bathroom and utility room (available for phone charging if needed, but nothing high-amperage). We do have numerous water spigots sprinkled throughout the property (unfiltered well water). There's a spot for a campfire near the bathroom building and the campsite. There will be a patio table set and chairs, two plastic Adirondack Chairs near the water along with an old Jon Boat with paddles you're welcome to take out to explore the water with. It's all pretty shallow, mucky and plant filled like you'd expect a wetlands to be, but beautiful and peaceful nonetheless.

For those looking to immerse themselves in the outdoors, we offer primitive campsites where you can choose your own spot—whether it’s by the pond, under the oak trees, or nestled near the bamboo grove. For RV travelers, we have a 30AMP hookup site with water access located just behind the main house. While this site doesn’t include sewage, you’ll have access to a fully renovated communal bathroom complete with a toilet and bathtub. The sanctuary features unique spaces to inspire creativity, such as: • A peaceful on-site pond with fish. • Open fields for writing, painting, or meditating. • Large canopies for art and music activities. We also provide a selection of rentable musical instruments, including a piano, keyboard, cello, and guitar, to help bring your artistic visions to life. Our sanctuary is proudly 420-friendly and welcomes guests of all backgrounds, lifestyles, and beliefs, whether LGBTQ+ or from any spiritual or religious path. However, we ask that heavier substances or disruptive behaviors be avoided to maintain the peaceful atmosphere. We are surrounded on 3 sides by forest, and you can ride or hike straight from any of the many trailheads on property! We offer 30 and 50amp sites, there is a bath house with full bathrooms and laundry, a Community Kitchen you are welcome to use, a screened in Pavilion for meals or hanging out, a POOL! (yes you read that right!) and a Clubhouse with couches, games and all! We have a few rentals (a cabin and RV) and we are working on getting more. We do have wifi on the property, and we also offer golf cart rentals. If you have horses, you'll love coming to Black Horse. We are surrounded by countless trails through the forest with the trail heads sitting right on property, two barns for horses, many outdoor stalls and paddocks, wash racks, and an extra large riding arena. There is world class fishing nearby at the St. John's River and we are right near many beautiful springs - which, if you have never spent time in a natural spring you will absolutely want to check that out! Kayaking, tubing, swimming galore in crystal clear waters. We are a 20 minute drive from the Villages which offers shopping, dining, and activities, as well as 20 minutes to historic Mount Dora which is a beautiful artsy downtown village. We are 1 hour from Daytona & New Smyrna, 1 hour from Orlando (Disney anyone?). There is plenty to do on the ranch and nearby the ranch. You will have a blast. We'll see you by the campfire!

Per Site Cost: (all sites have full hook-up of water, septic and 30 or 50 amp electric, fire-ring and a picnic table) and is for 2 adults and up to 4 children under 16, (each additional adult is $5.00 per night) max of 4 adults per site. Max of 2 vehicles per site, besides your rig. A few tent sites are also available. Amenities include: a single bath house, laundry and a recreation building with ping pong, TV area and table games. Office with small store. Gazebo over looking the lake, horseshoes, volleyball and basketball. There is a community firepit and charcoal grill in the picnic area. You can take a stroll along the small lake while enjoying birds, wildlife and horses. Horse accommodations: (paddocks and stalls) are available as well, please reach out to us directly. We have a covered and outdoor arena for horses to be lunged and/or trained. Coggins required upon arrival and before horses exit the trailer. Pet friendly: we have a dog park. Dogs must be on at least a 10ft leash and restrained at all times. Dogs are not to be left unattended outside at any time. If you are going to leave for an extended amount of time you need to take your dog with or find a doggie day care. We boarder the Ocala National Forest with it's 100 miles of trails for hiking, biking, fishing, OHV and horseback riding. Alexander Springs is the closest among many to snorkel, canoe and/or swim in 72* crystal clear water year round. Mt. Dora, Umatilla and Eustis are within 20 mins for restaurants, shops, golf and antiques, etc. If you have any questions your hosts will be happy to help. Choose a site to book - this may not be the actual site that you will have due to the booking calendar. You may be able to change once you arrive if other sites are available for your length of stay.
