Well off the beaten track, it's scenic, private and peaceful. Camping at Moon In The Pond Farm is a bit of heaven. There are separate sites to choose. Around the farm, you have your own secluded spot to enjoy. (Though you may be in a field next to our Scottish Highland cattle!) Two are tent sites: the PondSide and the FieldEdge. There's one site for small/tiny RVs or Campervan. And finally there's the HiddenCabin--a bed a roof and convenience. Each has a firepit with a small grill to cook over the fire. (all firewood provided) Our campsites are in quieter areas of the farm. One overlooks the pond, others are on the edges of different farm fields, one a cabin nearer the farmstead. All require a beautiful, bucolic trek of 150-350 yards from the roadside parking--ensuring the quiet, natural experience. During the day times, you may see or hear farm work. At night it's lusciously dark and serenely quiet. You'll hear owls hoot, frogs croak, crickets chirp, foxes yowl and coyotes howl! In June and July the fields and trees light up like Christmas with fireflies, and you'll see the stars. During the week is the absolute best time--the local hot spots (or cooling down spots!) are much quieter, and all our campsites have reduced weekday rates. If you can, take advantage by adding a Thursday or Sunday night to a weekend stay. We've got an awesome, easy hiking trail on adjacent Nature Conservancy land. It meanders through woodlands, around rock ledges, through wetlands (on a 600' of boardwalk) and ends at a beautiful stream and pond with a gigantic beaver dam. Not far from here are numerous well-marked hiking trails (including the Appalachian Trail (with famous Bash Bish Falls) and several offshoots (Sage's Ravine, Race Brook Falls), Bartholomew's Cobble, Umpacheenee Falls, and others). Also in the neighborhood are opportunities for canoeing, kayaking, swimming, rock climbing, gavel-road and country-road biking, and pretty much any outdoor activity/adventure opportunity. Or... you can just chill and relax, sleep, or read the day away! Love food? This is Farm-to-Table for real! Never so close--the table's AT the farm! Bring your cooking gear and get some of our wicked fresh organic food--veggies, chops, sausages, eggs, bacon, granola, yogurt, etc. Sear yourself up a real treat! Very nearby, as the Berkshires is a cultural mecca, there are also numerous opportunities from many great restaurants to art, dance, music, spas, galleries, antique shops, museums, cafes and much more. It's still amazingly quiet at the farm where the Milky Way is clearly visible.

Tree huggers unite! This is the promised land. Consisting of two separate forests, the wooded bastions of Mother Nature rise tall and strong in these parts. Each tree is beautiful in its own way, but perhaps no trunk is better for squeezing than those in the 200-year old white pine grove in the Whittemore Recreation Area of the Peoples Forest. One can only hug so many trees, however, so it’s a good thing there are lots of other things to do in the American Legion and Peoples State Forests. The trails that wind through these wooded acres will keep hikers on their feet for days on end. And the waters of the wild and scenic West Branch of the Farmington River attracts kayakers and fishers from all over Connecticut and even neighboring states. For July 4th weekend, and Labor Day weekend drive-up sites are a 2 night minimum. In the off season starting after Thanksgiving through April, there is no water or toilet or shower facilities available. Our 75 acres is a wonderful, diverse mix of habitat, harmoniously integrated with our small farm. This land was the homestead of the very first non native settler of the area, John Wiley, in 1787. Before that, it was the land of the Mahican native Americans. They named it "valley of the butternut trees", or Wyomanock. The Wyomanock Creek is the backbone of this little valley. Beaver have dammed the creek at several points to create ponds and other wetland features that support a diversity of wildlife including otter, moose and a myriad of birds, from osprey to herons. This sanctuary is host to many uncommon native plants and plant communities. We would love to share it with you! Your host, Thom, invites you to property to explore 75 acres of meadows, woods and water. Choose one of several sites either in the woods or open areas. When the temperatures drop, usually in November, we must turn off the water hose in order to preserve the hose and keep it from freezing. We provide water in 5 Gallon jugs for cleaning dishes and for personal hygiene. Please note, sometimes it gets so cold that the water freezes! During those times, we suggest bringing in water that you will use on a daily basis. You must bring in your own drinking water! We will provide you with a supply of paper plates, cups and plastic utensils! Water is typically turned back on in April. Winter camping adventure awaits! Staying at The Wasburn Cabin in winter months has proven to be an absolutely magical experience for hundreds of our guests. However, it does require a little extra planning and an understanding of winter in the Hudson Valley. Between November and April, the weather can have its extremes and does not allow for running water as the pipes will freeze and crack. Unfortunately, even leaving bottled water often just ends up being blocks of ice and not useable for our guests. We simply ask guests to bring in water during their stay to ensure a safe useable water source. We also ask guests to bring proper clothes. The insulated cabin does reach comfortable temperatures, however, extreme cold snaps can make it necessary to bundle up and cuddle with your main squeeze. If you are open to a little adventure and a little planning, come and enjoy our little oasis! If you are looking for high end amenities with hot showers and instant heat on demand, this is probably not for you and we suggest trying our outdoor experiences in warmer months. While we are located in a neighborhood, cell phone service can be spotty. We personally have not had any issues. We hope that once you arrive at the cabin, you’ll settle in and realize that disconnecting will help you reconnect to yourself! We offer limited wifi. Meaning, the signal may not be super strong but can help in getting you online to search the internet but may not be strong enough to stream. The most comfortable cabin with a stunning view!!!! Everything is so much more beautiful in person. Being there truly feels magical. I loved being surrounded by the ferns and wildlife. The view from the cabin is stunning. I recommend catching sunrise, even if you have to get up a bit early. At night, the fireflies put on a show that was unreal and left me speechless. The cabin is very clean and well kept, as well as the outhouse. I was impressed. The hosts are very kind and informative. You will not regret this stay.

Weekend Trip to The Cabin

The views were even more gorgeous than the pictures somehow, which I didn't think was possible. The hosts were so warm and welcoming, genuinely lovely people, and it was the sweetest bonus getting to meet their adorable dog Basil. They pointed us toward some great restaurants and gave us tips on things to do nearby that we never would've found on our own. The cabin felt so private, and I basically lived in the hammock. Slept better than I have in ages too. They have lots of paths and things to do right on the property as well. We even spotted a few deer from our window puttering about in the meadow. We only stayed one night, but we left completely relaxed. Can't recommend it enough.

We loved staying at the tiny cabin. The land is stunning, everything is so well thought out, and as comfortable as camping could be. The outdoor shower was a plus, as well as the clean well maintained compost bathroom. We felt totally comfortable there, and Tori was so kind and welcoming.

Weekend Trip to Atland Artist Residency

We loved the cabin! there were other tent/glamp sites nearby, and the communal sink with well water was right outside the cabin too. We got to use the wood-heated hot tub - Tori kindly prepared and heated it up in time for our arrival. The tub was a true highlight of the stay, especially with the cool and rainy weather. The trails nearby are worth checking out and we befriended so many newts!

This was the cutest little cabin on a beautiful piece of land! The bed was more than comfortable for two people to sleep on, although unfortunately we came too late in the season to use the woodstove. It wasn’t a big issue though — at first, the cabin was a little cold, but after three of us hanging out for a bit it warmed up nicely! The outdoor sink is a really nice touch, and the fire pit is great! What was most amazing was the abundance of wildlife — which is in no small part due to Julie’s focus on planting native plants! We saw many deer, and heard a variety of birds at any given moment. It was also a delight to meet Basil the dog! Julie was super welcoming and knowledgeable about the area! Shelburne Falls is a really cute little town, and there are so many lovely hikes and swimming holes nearby we’re already planning on coming back to do all of the things we didn’t get a chance to do!

1 night at Forest Hut in Western Mass

I had a lovely stay at the Forest Hut. It was a cold and rainy night but just the retreat I needed. The stay was just as Hannah described it in the listing. I also purchased a tincture at the apothecary shop! I enjoyed exploring the nearby area too including Three Sisters Sanctuary and the Bridge of Flowers

2 nights at Atland Artist Residency

The cabin is incredibly cute and comfortable, on beautiful land. It is well stocked - including nice touches like a hooded cotton robe, comfy bedding, a tiny coffee maker, a headlamp, and a tarot deck :) I could imagine that the loft could be difficult for some people to maneuver in and out of if they have any mobility issues, but I found it super cozy. My favorite thing was the outdoor shower. Wow, so lovely. And the outhouse is even pretty and tastefully decorated! A lounge chair near the cabin would have been really sweet, but overall the stay was absolutely wonderful. The hosts were welcoming, helpful, and kind. I highly recommend AtLand and hope to return!

Weekend Trip to Atland Artist Residency

Beautiful tiny cabin. They’ve done big things with a small space. The little touches were clearly thought out including a heater and fan, ear plugs, and plenty of utensils/kitchen ware to eat and make coffee. They also have a new outdoor bathroom! Rustic but cozy, functional, and clean experience. Would do again.

Weekend Trip to The Cabin

What a beautiful spot — with a breathtaking view. Very quiet, and a perfect place to write. Watched a bluebird hunt insects right outside my window. Then I woke up early to listen to the dawn birdsong, one of those things I’d always wanted to do, Wood thrushes and hermit thrushes among the many singers — those are my absolute favorites. Julie is the most wonderful host!!

Weekend Trip to Two Herons Farm

My family had a WONDERFUL stay at Two Herons Farm! Our baby daughter was delighted to interact with the sheep, goats, ponies, cows, chickens, guinea pigs, dogs, cat, and more!!! The farm was a great store with cool, local gifts. The cabin was really comfortable and private. The hosts, Molly and Diego, were incredibly generous and helpful. We were fortunate to tag along with Diego while he feed various animals, felt like a cool behind-the-scenes tour. We've stayed in dozens of Airbnbs/Hipcamps over the years, and this was by far our favorite. Highly recommend!!!

Weekend Trip to Moon In The Pond Farm

We had a wonderful time at Moon in the Pond Farm. Dom was so wonderful and helpful. The farm was beautiful and serene. We all loved waking up to see farm animals and have a rare opportunity to interact with them. But the icing on the cake was Chip the dog. He was hands down the coolest dog ever. We will definitely come back!

We had a great time at the cabin! We did the late check in, and Julie was very friendly and accommodating. The cabin was very clean and cozy. There was a great view in the morning, and lots of land to walk and explore. Great place to spend the weekend and explore the area.
