We do provide free WIFI that will help send a text, make a call or check an email, but that is about it. The free WIFI works best near the camp store and some of the closer RV sites. It does not work at all at the tent sites. We highly suggest you bring your own internet (Your personal Starlink will work great here) if you are wanting stay fully connected, work remotely or do other heavy internet tasks. We want your stay to be as enjoyable as possible so please do not come here and have the unrealistic expectation that our free WIFI will meet your streaming, remote working or internet heavy needs.

The campsites are pet friendly, $30 per pet per stay, max 2 pets.

The entrance is right off of highway 135, 8 miles north of Gunnison. Come down the driveway and take a right into the field. The tent is nestled against the cottonwoods far enough away from the main house for complete privacy.
Relax on the property or use it as your adventure base camp. Less than a mile from Gunnison river access, National Forest access in hunting units 54 and 55. Not far from units 66 and 67. Almont is a 2 minute drive, Gunnison is about 10 minutes away and Crested Butte is about 20 minutes from the property.
The queen size bed will be made (additional cots can be added with advance notice) and the kitchen has a two burner propane camp stove, tea pot, pots, pans, plates, bowls, cups, mugs, and utensils. It is stocked with drinking water, oil, S&P, coffee, tea, marshmallows and fresh eggs from our chickens will be provided daily.
The tent is equipped with a wood burning stove and stocked with firewood. Additional firewood can be purchased. Kindling and fire starters are also available at no charge- let us do the hard work - you RELAX! Electricity is provided, so you can charge your phone or whatever else you need.
Enjoy your private fire pit, chill in the rocking camping chairs, or walk across the field to the main house and enjoy the hot tub on the deck. You may spot our horse "Sassy" or some of our chickens roaming around.
A porta potty is situated near (but not too near) the tent for your convenience. Towels and wash cloths are also provided.

We had such a wonderful stay at Frenchman’s Creek Ranch! The campsite was beautiful and relaxing, and we absolutely loved being on a real working farm. Our kids especially enjoyed seeing all the animals and exploring the property. The walk down to the Arkansas River was another highlight, and the whole ranch has such a peaceful, welcoming atmosphere.
Belinda and Todd have created a really special place. It was a perfect base for our family to enjoy the Buena Vista area while still feeling like we were getting a true Colorado camping experience. We had a great time and are already planning to come back next year!

The Chalets are great! Nice and quiet, picturesque, but still very close to amenities. The land itself is beautiful and you can hear the creek from just about anywhere on the property. Our cabin was nicely appointed, clean, and comfortable. Would absolutely go back. Thanks for a great weekend!

Beautiful campground, smooth check-in process, clean bathrooms, nice laundry, and as a bonus, outdoor games, board games, and an impressive DVD collection were free to use. Our tent was maybe 10ft from the river with tons of room to ourselves. Can't speak highly enough about this campground!

We stayed in the 2-bedroom suite and had a wonderful "glamping" experience. The rooms were clean, with plenty of silverware/cookware/kitchen utensils available. Check-in and out was a breeze with the detailed communications we received, and the location is ideal for exploring the Salida and San Isabel National Forest areas. The only negative was that it was quite hot at night despite running the fans and opening the windows (which were a bit tricky to get open). The property owners are planning to install a swamp cooler for the unit soon, and that should help mitigate the heat. As a family of 5, we found this suite perfect (the sofa in the living room pulls out into a futon-style bed). Highly recommend this spot for any families looking for a nice glamping vacation.

Great little camping resort. The family takes well care of their property. The bathhouse was extremely clean. They had live music while we were there that was fabulous. Our camp site was nice and flat. The road noise was present but we already knew it would be. Next time I would book the site next to us as that site drives through ours to get to theirs. Not a big problem though. We had a great time.

Great little serene spot off the highway with sizable camping sites for RV’s and tent camping.
We spent a couple of nights here on a little in-state road trip before a festival and we really enjoyed our time here. One of the best parts that I hadn’t even considered was the distance from the highway. Most rv parks in this area are on the river, but that also means on the highway. Pleasant Valley is on the river but tucked away from the highway blocked by a couple of properties which significantly cuts the road noise. It feels like a little piece of paradise when you’re there at your spot on the river with the stars over head.
Definitely a must stop if you’re in the area.

There are only a few spots for small RVs, and they are all on the creek in an aspen grove. The sites are all well-maintained and have a good degree of privacy between. Our 2-night stay was perfect, and we would definitely consider this spot again.

We loved staying at this campsite. There’s a lot to do on the grounds. Unfortunately when we went, the pond was all dried up, and even though site 13 is considered a river site, it is quite a ways away from the river itself. Nonetheless, the grounds were well-kept and the staff are incredibly friendly people. The toilets and shower rooms were always clean which is an incredible plus. The convenience store where you check is was also very helpful in moments where we forgot small things. Overall, a great place to camp and would come back again!

One of our favorite new places to camp! From the riverside tent site, to the ample shade from trees, we absolutely loved this site. The campground itself was so wonderful - community BBQ, live music, clean/hot showers, full bathrooms, and wifi if you need it!
Monarch Spur was very dog friendly with a dog park and poop bag receptacles conveniently located - and always great to see other dogs enjoying the adventure.
The geographical location was perfect for us to explore day hikes or swims at nearby lakes, rivers, and of course downtown Salida.
We are already planning our next trip back!

Established campgrounds aren’t usually our thing. We typically stay off-grid but we absolutely loved our five-week stay here.
The area is beautiful, with mountain views along the river, several seating areas, and plenty of trees for shade. We were also still able to use our Starlink without any issues. The road just beyond the campground entrance was great for running, biking, and walking.
The campground itself is very clean and well maintained, and the staff are all incredibly kind and welcoming. They were even nice enough to give us a ride to the Rincon day-use area so we could float the river back to our campsite, which was a ton of fun.
The location is excellent being close to Salida and Buena Vista, with Leadville not too much farther away. The outdoor recreation in this area is fantastic.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would absolutely come back!
