The sites are located in an aspen grove along the creek with a picnic table provided and room to park one vehicle up to 20 feet long and space for a tent. 30 amp power is provided to each site, a porta-potty within 250 feet and water from a camp spigot. The campsites are pet friendly, $30 per pet per stay, max 2 pets.

The entrance is right off of highway 135, 8 miles north of Gunnison. Come down the driveway and take a right into the field. The tent is nestled against the cottonwoods far enough away from the main house for complete privacy.
Relax on the property or use it as your adventure base camp. Less than a mile from Gunnison river access, National Forest access in hunting units 54 and 55. Not far from units 66 and 67. Almont is a 2 minute drive, Gunnison is about 10 minutes away and Crested Butte is about 20 minutes from the property.
The queen size bed will be made (additional cots can be added with advance notice) and the kitchen has a two burner propane camp stove, tea pot, pots, pans, plates, bowls, cups, mugs, and utensils. It is stocked with drinking water, oil, S&P, coffee, tea, marshmallows and fresh eggs from our chickens will be provided daily.
The tent is equipped with a wood burning stove and stocked with firewood. Additional firewood can be purchased. Kindling and fire starters are also available at no charge- let us do the hard work - you RELAX! Electricity is provided, so you can charge your phone or whatever else you need.
Enjoy your private fire pit, chill in the rocking camping chairs, or walk across the field to the main house and enjoy the hot tub on the deck. You may spot our horse "Sassy" or some of our chickens roaming around.
A porta potty is situated near (but not too near) the tent for your convenience. Towels and wash cloths are also provided.

Salida area is also home to a ton of hiking (14'ers anyone?) and mountain biking trails. The Royal Gorge is a quick 30 minute drive with restaurants and other fun near Canon City. The Chalets are great! Nice and quiet, picturesque, but still very close to amenities. The land itself is beautiful and you can hear the creek from just about anywhere on the property. Our cabin was nicely appointed, clean, and comfortable. Would absolutely go back. Thanks for a great weekend!

We stayed in the 2-bedroom suite and had a wonderful "glamping" experience. The rooms were clean, with plenty of silverware/cookware/kitchen utensils available. Check-in and out was a breeze with the detailed communications we received, and the location is ideal for exploring the Salida and San Isabel National Forest areas. The only negative was that it was quite hot at night despite running the fans and opening the windows (which were a bit tricky to get open). The property owners are planning to install a swamp cooler for the unit soon, and that should help mitigate the heat. As a family of 5, we found this suite perfect (the sofa in the living room pulls out into a futon-style bed). Highly recommend this spot for any families looking for a nice glamping vacation.

Our stay at Lone Tree Yurt was incredible! It was such a comfortable and unique experience, and one of the best ways to enjoy Colorado's wildlife while respecting their natural habitat. We saw so much wildlife without disrupting their lives, which made the experience feel even more special.
The yurt itself was cozy, clean, and thoughtfully equipped. Even the composting toilet was impressively clean, odor-free, and had an amazing view! Every detail made our stay feel both rustic and comfortable. We can't wait to come back and would highly recommend Lone Tree Yurt to anyone looking for a peaceful, unforgettable getaway.

Weekend Trip to Frenchman's Creek Ranch
We had a great time at Frenchman's Creek Ranch. The medium canvas tent site was a convenient and comfortable place to relax after a full day of riding motorcycles. There is lighting and a table inside the tent, wood Adirondack chairs on the tent platform, and some camp chairs that can be used inside or around the gas fire pit, which is a particularly nice touch during the ongoing county fire bans. The tent sites are located within a stand of mature Aspens and there is enough distance between the few sites to feel comfortable in your own space. The hosts were easy to work with and were super responsive to messages, yet unobtrusive during our stay. This is a working ranch and it was fun in the morning to hear the cows having some strong opinions about something. Overall, a great experience and just way better amenities than state or federal campgrounds, but without the crowding and institutional feel of true commercial campgrounds. Buena Vista is a short 10 minute drive away if you want to go do some shopping, dining or partake in activities. We spent a couple hours at Strange Craft Beer Company where we enjoyed great beer and live music in their beer garden. Would definitely stay here again.

We loved the tent we rented here! Everything was simple and comfortable. The tent had plenty of room and the bed we added on was so comfortable! The space felt very secluded and quiet. The bathroom was always clean and the shower was nice. The animals were so adorable! It was very calming to be around them . We walked to the river a few times and it was absolutely beautiful! The hosts communicated well and made sure we were comfortable and had answers to all our questions. Can’t wait to come back!

A very cleanly campground with beautiful views and great amenities. I was on a month long camping trip so staying at a cabin to rest and have some AC for a few days, while being able to recharger devices, was a great reset that I needed. Working on the porch, sitting in the swing was a bonus! Beautifully renovated restrooms/showers too, it felt quite luxurious compared to other places I’d showered during the month lol. Linens/towels provided in cabin as well.
Quiet place at night which is much appreciated, respectful people, and each of the different camping styles are offered to suit all needs.
Amazing place to be to take a break from tent/dispersed camping!

The video Alicia sent before the trip was a great orientation. It was great sleeping in a bed with great pillows and waking up with a coffee maker. The propane stove for cooking was great for breakfast and dinner. All of the utensils that we needed were there. The canvas tents on a wooden platform are very secure from the occasional blustery winds and rains...the donkeys are hysterical...the cows gorgeous...turkeys...chickens...ducks...hogs....all delighted my 3.5 year old grandson....walk to Arkansas River was well marked and we all took a swim...shower area is amazing...so nice to have one so clean....propane firepit added perfect ambiance to sit around at night and chat...hosts are friendly and responsive....thankyou for sharing your space with others!

My family and I recently spent 2 nights at the Riverfront Mountain Ranch: it was a highlight of our trip to Colorado and we’d wished our stay was longer. Leslie gave us such a warm welcome it really set the tone for the experience. But it was the attention to detail we appreciated the most: the delicious made-to-order breakfast, the game tent packed with fun stuff, the spacious fire pit and ever-restocking s’mores-station… we just really appreciated the effort that Leslie puts into this place. Great vibes and met some really nice folk around the fire at night. Not to mention the incredible views of the mountains and short stroll down the swim in the Arkansas River, it made for such a relaxing stay. Buena Vista is a short drive away but we also dug visiting Salida which is about 30 mins away. Lastly we stayed in one of the spacious yurts which had cool furniture, panels to see the stars and was top notch when one of the nights was windy. We can’t wait to come back.

Weekend Trip to Gunnison Glamping @ Blue Bear Ranch
Great amenities and set up! We had everything we needed and the hosts were very friendly. The spot is closer to the highway than I thought so we could definitely hear the cars passing, but at the same time the location was easy to find and not far from town.

The Mountain Goat Lodge is a true gem with quick and easy access to downtown Salida and Buena Vista. Gina and D'Arcy are phenomenal hosts and we can't wait to plan our next trip there! Highly recommend!!
