Located 2.5 miles from the famous Paint Mines Interpretive Park and Trails and 4 miles from the El Paso County Fairgrounds that hold many events all summer long. The town of Calhan is just 4 miles north of this property. There, you will find the local grocery store, restaurants, gas stations, and dollar store for any of your needs. Enjoy seclusion and beautiful views of the rolling hillside and wildlife all while being sheltered amongst our mature trees. All of our campsites are tucked in the trees to give you privacy and shelter from the Colorado breeze. Bring your bikes and ride to the paint mines or explore the property on our trails and stay close. We have the best tasting well water so feel free to fill up your water jugs at the hydrant closest to the chicken coops!! Come see our dream in the works and soak up some serenity! Dogs are welcome, however they must be dog friendly, trained and well behaved. They are free to roam but chasing calves and causing trouble with other animals will not be tolerated. We also have dogs, but will do our best to have them put up when you arrive with adequate communication about you ETA . No bathroom facilities at the moment. Also, no fires unless approved by us! When you arrive, we will happily check you in and direct you to your camp site. Please feel free to ask us about anything you may need, but we will not bother you otherwise! We hope to see you soon! Learn more about this land:This camp site is directly across the road from Eleven Mile Reservoir. With this site being around 3000 feet from the reservoir you will be able to enjoy all the amazing views and amenities the reservoir has to offer without the crowded camp grounds. You will need a park pass to access the reservoir but not to camp on the land. A 1/4 mile down the road is access to nation forest for going off road or get a parks pass and fish at one of the many amazing fisheries in the area like Eleven mile, Spinney and Eleven mile canyon. The south shore boat ramp is less than 4 miles away. This area does get windy so be careful setting up awnings and pop up tents or anything the wind likes to blow away. The site has a slight pitch but leveling out your camper should be relatively easy. No trees on the land to block your 360 degree mountain views.

Jamie is very gracious, knowledgeable and kind. This location is right next to the Paint Mines and a great place to say after your hike. The location is very quiet and great for star and moon gazing. This site also sits adjacent to a wind(mill) farm which is a great unique landscape. Very nice, safe place to stay!

We had a power issue, and the host responded very quickly. The location is close to many easy hikes. We were able to have a fire, the fire pit is great. While by the fire a deer walked through the yard.

Secluded! Cool view on the distant horizon that was about a five minute walk away, and at night looking East over the blinking lights of hundreds (thousands?) of windmills. Not many places you will see this! Dark sky was also good as the Milky Way was directly overhead. Antelope also were around.

It was absolutely beautiful and extremely peaceful! Jamie went above and beyond in communication And making sure she was available to show us to the site! Jamie and her young son showed us the way, he did bike wheelies and double checked to make sure we we’re good while they showed us to our campsite. Couldnt ask for a better or sweeter welcome :) We slept wonderfully and it was extremely peaceful! 15/10!!!

This site is absolutely stunning. Super secluded, no one near you, wide open with amazing views. Our dogs had a blast running around the site. Road is a bit bumpy getting in. Definitely arrive during daytime as you could miss the entrance. Because it is in the open, it can get a bit windy. Would definitely recommend this stay if you're looking for off grid seclusion.

7 nights at The Beez Keeez

We loved Crystal's property, The Bees Kneez, in Florissant. The location was awesome. Close to the market and liquor store on 24, where you can also fill up on propane if needed. Also nearby is the Library and adjacent park you can walk to. On Saturday they had a great farmer's market which offered a nice variety and great prices on local produce, meat, eggs, plants, etc. The location was quiet and conveniently located right off the highway. The RV spot is located in the backyard of her Airbnb house, so you are sharing the land it sits on, but we still felt like we had plenty of privacy. We were a little uncertain about pulling in when we got there, since there wasn't a direct pull-out, but we were able to easily backup our 40ft motorhome and drive back out of the driveway. So don't let the initial setup deter you from staying!! To be able to offer full hookups for the price offered and the location is a deal! Crystal was so hospitable and offered advice and insight on the area. We really enjoyed chatting with her when she was around. And don't miss the Thunderbird Inn! You can easily walk or ride your bike there, if you don't want to drive, and the French dip is a must have! They also have live music on the weekends and a great backyard hangout area. We highly recommend a stay at The Beez Kneez and hope to come back for a stay again next time we're in the area. Thanks Crystal!

What a cool experience! I hadn’t been able to go star gazing in forever since moving to Denver. Not only does John have an incredible night sky above his land, he’s also incredibly knowledgeable and a bona fide celestial tour guide. Whether you’re coming with curious kiddos or enthusiastic adults, you’ll have a great time.

I had an amazing time staying at this campsite! After the sun went down, we got to use a telescope and learn all about the stars and constellations. It was such a cool experience—peaceful, fun, and really eye-opening. Camping here isn’t just about enjoying nature, it’s also about connecting with the night sky in a way you don’t usually get to. I left feeling relaxed, inspired, and already looking forward to coming back again.
