Our property has 360 degree mountains views with the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range as our back yard. Nearby you can find many different trail systems for all kinds of outdoor enthusiasts. From hiking to jeeping, ATV or dirt biking and equestrians - you can find it all! We are surrounded by ranch land and state land with Wildlife Refuge just two miles away. We also offer accommodation for those with livestock, just make sure you chat with us in your initial message. We are also close to BLM, and National Forest as well as several hot springs and the Great Sand Dunes. We are still under construction and making changes often so bear with us while we continue to add and change things for the better!

High Desert Hideaway

2 sites · RVs, Tents3 acres · Saguache
We love our High Desert Hideaway and take great effort to keep it comfortable for our camping guests. Between the incredible mountain views in every direction to the high-desert experience of an arid climate - we want to share with you the peaceful quiet lifestyle that we enjoy every moment of our time here. We offer use of our campsite (the Hideaway) - and the nearby amazing 14,000' Sangre de Cristo mountains almost within arms' reach. Our property is off-grid. Our goal is to mitigate any impact on the environment we might have. We are on well-water and septic with a solar array for power inside our home. Campers have access to a portable toilet, outdoor shower, and potable (drinkable/safe) well water. The Crestone area has officially received designation as International Dark Sky. This means we are extremely careful about light pollution. The views of the night sky are magnificent because there is no light pollution. You will be amazed by the vast numbers of stars visible from our property. (We may have the telescope setup for you to use while you're here.) You'll be close to the Great Sand Dunes National Park - the tallest and most amazing sand dunes in North America. Plan to make this a day-trip - no one should ever miss the Dunes! You're able to see the Dunes from just about everywhere on our property. Look to the south and be amazed! We are also close to several natural hot springs resorts with both family friendly and clothing optional locations. And the choices for hiking are too numerous to list. Don't forget about the local hiking trails and the beautiful views from the Ziggurat (it's visible from our deck). The nearby town of Crestone is a quaint and delightful town with a history museum, an art cooperative, at least two restaurants, a brew-pub, two grocery stores, a liquor store, post office, a bank, and a gas station. Our High Desert Hideaway is truly heaven on Earth.
