Rollinsville Adventure Camp is a 5 acre slice of the Rocky Mountains, perched at approximately 9,000 feet above sea level, in the shadow of the nearby Continental divide. This home was the coziest and most relaxing place to stay ever!!! 🥰Such happy and warm vibes all around even staying on a 40 degree weekend!!! The wood burning stove was so amazing and kept the house so warm! There was even firewood available!!! 😇I brought my own but it was awesome there was some extra! Me and my girlfriend cooked some delicious meals in the adorable, spacious, and well stocked kitchen! It was the most amazing birthday getaway and my girlfriend was so pleased as well! Thank you Lauren for hosting such a wonderful and beautiful home to the Hipcamp/ Airbnb community ☺️ we will 100% be back!!! Our little chiweenie, Mabel absolutely loved the home too! She felt right at home and loved to explore the front yard and sit on the cute back porch and sunbathe. Mabel will want to return for another trip as well 🥰🐾💜

Overall great experience! House is very cute/ cozy and easy to access from I-70. Once we got the fire going inside, it was very warm; firewood/lighter fluid was provided. Was pet friendly and the town very quaint. Already planning another longer visit!

Ample space to pitch a large tent. The large lean to with chairs and table was great for dinner on a cool evening. We had to pack up and get moving but this would be a fun place to stay for a couple days in the area. Gerry was kind and helpful.

What a cool experience! I hadn’t been able to go star gazing in forever since moving to Denver. Not only does John have an incredible night sky above his land, he’s also incredibly knowledgeable and a bona fide celestial tour guide. Whether you’re coming with curious kiddos or enthusiastic adults, you’ll have a great time.

I had an amazing time staying at this campsite! After the sun went down, we got to use a telescope and learn all about the stars and constellations. It was such a cool experience—peaceful, fun, and really eye-opening. Camping here isn’t just about enjoying nature, it’s also about connecting with the night sky in a way you don’t usually get to. I left feeling relaxed, inspired, and already looking forward to coming back again.

What a wonderful stay! The scenery is breathtaking, and it's close to a few state parks. At night the sky is OUTSTANDING. John is an absolute treasure and a wealth of knowledge. We had an incredible time at John’s camp. He was not only incredible hospitable and friendly, but his knowledge on astronomy was impressive. We came specifically to see the Perseid Meteor shower and even with a bright moon, we got to see them! The kids were so excited and our time there was absolutely magic. Awesome landscape; dog was ecstatic to be off leash - we were mostly solo. Clouds rolled in but still had lovely visit with host and his “astronomical” knowledge (pun intended). So cool to see cows and be lulled to sleep by their lowing.

Weekend Trip to Rollinsville Adventure Camp

My friends and I had site 5 and 6. There’s a slight slope but not bad at all compared to some other campgrounds I’ve been to. Our two dogs loved the area and enjoyed the space as much or more than we did. There are only two picnic tables to share among the 6 sites. This wasn’t an issue for us since we had the place to ourselves. The gas grill was nice to have. There is a shower hooked up to a hose. It’s not potable water but would work for a rinse off if you’ve been hiking all day. The potable water pump wasn’t working while we were there, but I let Ed know so I’m sure he’s on it. Also the little structure area was so nice for late night card games. The lights in there were much better than using our camping lanterns. Overall we really enjoyed it and would probably go back because the dogs enjoyed it so much.
