There are many popular and diverse activity sites less than an hour away. Come escape the hustle and bustle of home, and enjoy the beauty of nature and our loving animals.
We offer both tent and RV listings to suit however you like to travel. We have a hot shower, bathroom, picnic tables, potable water, and trash and recycle bins. Our RV listing has both 20 and 30 amp electrical hookup but no water or sewer hookups.

Diane is so sweet and showed us all of their beautiful friendly animals and plants when we arrived and even offered fresh goat milk and a plant starter! Welcome to Black Forest, Colorado, located on the northern end of Colorado Springs. This property sits on 5 1/2 acres of beautiful woods. Despite the privacy and peacefulness, you are only minutes away from a gas station/convenience, store, barbecue restaurant, breakfast/lunch café, and a pizza/grinders restaurant.
We have two covered RV spots and two open RV spots. The two covered spots have electrical hook ups, the smaller spot offers only 110v plug-in, and the large spot offers 30/50amp. Although we don’t have water at each spot we do have long water hoses to get your tanks full. Please note we do not have septic! There is a KOAA 15 minutes away, which allows dumping for a $10 cash fee.
The smaller RV spot is suitable for up to a 30 foot RV, the larger spot can fit up to a 40 foot RV. There is one tight turn to get onto the property, but once you’re on the property it is easy to navigate. We highly recommend you arrive during daylight hours, so you can maneuver properly. Wi-if available.
Fire pits allowed on the open center area only. Quiet hours from 9 PM to 8 AM.
Owners live on site, in the log cabin. Two dogs live on property.

Andy, the host, was so kind to my boyfriend and I. The sites are so nice and not right on top of each other which is not typical for camping so that was very appreciated! You can tell that Andy put a lot of thought into thinking about others with the dog park, the shade provided for the site, the lights at night, and the porta potty. We will definitely be going back soon!

We pulled in late, and Andy was there to meet us and help us find the site in the dark. The site was clean, quiet, and level. We were there for a short time before an early flight in the morning, so we didn’t use the amenities, but it had a table and chairs, outhouse, and access to water. Great spot for anyone looking for a place to stay near the airport.

Perfect stop while staying in the Colorado Springs area. Very clean property with easy access to the RV site. We stayed in the larger bay with our 33’ fifth wheel. Adriana and her husband were very good at communicating with us and made sure we were hooked up to their water. The setting is a nicely wooded area with deer and birds coming through on loud stay.

Great host and some pretty killer views! Andy has worked hard at providing a lot for his guests. Outdoor furniture and shade canopies for tent campers and RVers too. We were headed west and wanted a one night stay near Denver. Worked out perfectly for us. Will stay here again if ever passing through.
FYI, there is a great grocery store in Bennett, King Soopers, where we could restock everything for our trip.

What a beautiful space for resting and relaxing! My doggo and I had a great time walking, star gazing by the campfire and listening to birds, owls and baby coyotes. Andy is a tremendous host, so welcoming and accommodating for people and pups! We will be back!

Where to go
Denver Region
Located just 30 miles north, Denver offers urban and outdoor adventures. Several RV parks can be found near the city outskirts. Cherry Creek State Park, Chatfield State Park, and Bear Creek Lake Park just outside Denver all offer a lake and developed campgrounds. To the north of the city, Golden Gate Canyon State Park offers campgrounds, cabins, and yurts, while St. Vrain State Park offers great fishing and camping near several ponds.
Colorado Springs Area
Head south for Colorado’s second biggest city, with plenty of amenities, RV parks, and easy access to the outdoors. Hike, bike, or drive to the summit of Pikes Peak, one of the most visited mountains in the region. Explore the towering red sandstone formations of Garden of the Gods. Soak up and drink the mineral waters of Manitou Springs or head to the “City Above the Clouds” of Woodland Springs. Play and camp with your tent or RV at nearby Mueller State Park or stay at a private campground or RV park.
Forests and Mountains
Just west of Castle Rock, Pike National Forest offers a vast wilderness for outdoor recreation and camping. The Lost Creek Wilderness is a hidden gem for hikers, climbers, and anglers. Further north, the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests offer more than a million acres to explore and numerous camping options. Hop on the Peak to Peak Scenic Byway to enjoy vast vistas and camp in the Indian Peaks wilderness along the way.
When to go
Visit between May and September to go hiking, biking, climbing, and camping. Some higher elevation campgrounds in national forests are only open seasonally over the summer. The popular Castle Rock WineFest is held in July while the Colorado Artfest is held in September. Expect peak fall colors around late September and early October. The annual lighting of a star above Castle Rock takes place in November.
Know before you go
- Castle Rock is situated at over 6,000 feet. Other recreation areas and campsites in the region are at even higher elevations, where altitude can be an issue.
- Be bear aware, especially when camping. Store food and other attractants in a bear proof container, away from your tent.
- Fishing licenses are required for anyone over age 16 in Colorado.
- Permits are required for state and national wilderness areas.
