There is a small a-frame tent that's insulated with big windows, locking door, skylight, solar for charging electronics, and a full size bed. The cabin is roughly the size of the full size mattress but seems bigger because of the a-frame roof. Its warm and cozy and keeps the critters and animals out, so you feel safe and comfortable. There are lots of amenities on site. There is a picnic table, 10'x12' waterproof awning and wood deck. There is a bbq, bear box, huge stone fire pit and bucket toilet. The road into the site was graded last year but still has small potholes typical of a Colorado county road, most low-profile cars will do fine. If you have a rv or camper, the turn around is limited, no tow behind campers or vehicles over 20'

Weekend Trip to Gondola Village at Holy Cross

We had a lovely (but challenging, carrying a toddler) hike up and stay at Cabin #2. The cabin was quaint, clean and more well-appointed than expected (I guess we didn't need to pack a hatchet?). It was hovering around freezing when we arrived, but we got the stove lit and got the space up into the 50s for a comfortable night. Sunrise was lovely from bed and we finished our trip with a hike up to the lake in the morning before descending to the car.

We were extremely thrilled to revisit Will and Jake and their campsite. As always the campsite was clean, inviting, and well maintained. Jake cooked for us again and the gourmet burgers did not disappoint. As the last campers of the season, we were pleased to relax in a pine tree haven. Weekend Trip to Meadow Hot Springs Glamping Cabin

I had a nice stay with my dog at the end of September. The view is as nice as everyone says. The site is big with an outdoor fire pit, but i didn't use. You are at 11k feet and will feel it hiking and chopping wood for kindling. That was fun with a heavy axe. The portable toilet is interesting. still not sure how I feel about it. Temps were down to 35 night but was fine inside with the wood stove. The road up is pretty rough, but I made it fine in a Tesla 3. Just go slow.

Good distance to/from Salida, while also feeling “off the grid”. Great views of the surrounding peaks. Suggest bringing warm layers for the cooler evenings and a warm comforter. Our dog prefers sleeping in his crate and the tent is big enough to setup in the corner. Recommend checking it out. Thank you!

Loved the set up of this well built cabin. Wood stove was a nice feature and kept it nice and toasty inside even with freezing temps. Seclusive and convenient to hiking Mount Bross and even Mounts Lincoln, Cameron and Democrat. Saw a moose and several deer in the open area in front of the cabin which was a highlight.

This property is a beautiful hidden gem with amazing night guys, absolute solitude and responsive host. The cabin was larger than I expected with 2 beds in the loft, 2 beds on the main floor and a couch in the living room next to the wood stove. The wood stove heats up fast and provides house of heat without needing to reload and the propane burners for Coleman stove are perfect for cooking. Just bring some battery powered string lights for lighting at night and a headlamp. There are good hiking options on the property and the adjacent BLM lands.

Weekend Trip to Whispering Pines Glamping

We really enjoyed our weekend stay here! We came with my toddler and dog and they both enjoyed playing outside during the day and stayed cozy and warm in the tent during the chilly night. The site was well supplied and conveniently set up and Marsha was very accommodating and easy to communicate with. The land is beautiful and the leaves were starting to turn golden. It was so secluded and peaceful; the stars were unbelievable and we could hear coyotes at night and it was so quiet we could hear the flapping of bird wings during the day. I would love to come back and stay here again another time.

We had the absolute best time at the canvas tents! The animals were the highlight of our stay, the walk to the river was amazing as well. While we were there, a momma cow actually had her baby, which was such a special and unforgettable experience. The setting is peaceful, the tents are cozy, and you really feel connected to nature. Todd and Belinda are truly wonderful hosts. They made us feel so welcome and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable. We loved this special little village. It's a very well-kept cabin and has everything you could need. The hike in was a bit tough, but well worth it and very straightforward! We were able to see lots of wildlife and enjoy time at the nearby lake. There's a marmot that runs around the abandoned town and plenty of pika in the surrounding area. Will remember this trip for a while.

Imagine you’re at 10,000 feet on 160 acres on the most beautiful countryside in Colorado and you’re only ones there! 1 campsite, all to yourself with all the amenities you could possibly hope for! Mike and Marsha have thought about everything, we will be back here year after year and make sure we stay more than just 2 nights! If there’s any question in your mind about booking here, just do it!! You come back and refer this place to your friends, that’s how good it is!

Doggie and I loved camping with the Jansmas. They were there to greet us coming in, and the tent and equipment were perfection. Extra bedding, lotion, candles, a solar shower and privvy, all were luxury. The dog so enjoyed being off leash all weekend. The highlight of our stay was the birthday dinner that Jake cooked on the final night, with a special creme brulee for dessert complete with candle. The coyotes (and the highway traffic) were a bit closer than I had realized they would be at times, but the rest of the time was quiet and beautiful. If you come, make sure to stop at Costello's Coffee House. We will be back!

Weekend Trip to Buckaroo Bunkhouse Camping

We had a great stay in the RV at Tina's! Would recommend. Gorgeous spot, easy to find even in the dark. She had the heater on for us before we arrived so it was nice and cozy. We loved the bench swing next to the propane fire ring. Bonus that you can use a propane fire ring even if there's a fire ban. The horses were polite and calm. It was a sweet and special experience stargazing with them right there next to us, just chilling in the moonlight on the other side of the fence. Whether they were keeping us company or maybe just enjoying the beautiful night, it was an unexpected highlight. Beds & pillows were comfy, we slept soundly. I LOVE vintage RVs, though sometimes they trigger my allergies. This one was great, no sniffles or sneezes for me. Everything was clean including the extra linens, blankets, pillows. The price felt fair, especially compared to an airbnb (plus - yay, no chore list!). And obviously it was so much better than a motel room - way more privacy and fun. We were glad we chose this spot and would recommend, thank you!
