It's so nice to "meet you" my name is Taryn and my hubby's name is Anson. We are parents to two-year-old twins, so saying we have our hands full is an understatement. Anson is a folk and blues musician and has traveled
all around the U.S. playing his music and I work for a children's book company. One day, we decided that we wanted to live the rest of our lives hosting live music, and events and that's how Rock & Tree began. Anson and I continue to build everything ourselves with the help of our friends and family every now and again. Our process is that we source as much lumber using the dead Eucalyptus trees we have here on the 36 acre property and we are constantly trying to come up with innovative ways to use recycled and donated materials in the venue. During the pandemic, we turned our venue into a campground so we could open up the venue to people who needed to get out into nature. We are now open for daily camping and private events. While our site is private and secluded, it is close to most stores you might need. Palmdale is a 10-minute drive and has a Target, Walmart, Home Depot, Ross, restaurants, fast foods, banks, and more.
Additionally, you can visit a lot of unique places just few minutes from us like Antelope Valley Indian Museum, Four Aces Movie Ranch, Movie Set Diner, Club Ed Movie Set, El Mirage Dry Lake, Kill Bill Church, Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve, Joe Davies Heritage Airpark, Blackbird Airpark, Dry Town Water Park

This little farm is being brought back to life! Once part of an 160 acre avocado farm now it is a 15 acre little slice of heaven purchased in 2019. Previously the farm had been let go and now our duty is to get it back in shape. We are making steady progress and fall in love with the land more everyday. Currently we are also planting about an acre of lavender which should be a beautiful backdrop come 2024. Time up here gives you a chance to unwind, unplug, and explore some remaining wildlife in southern California.

We are a BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ friendly location. Our family home is conveniently located just off of Highway 14, along Sierra Highway, in Acton, CA. We offer parking in our large driveway with hookups for electricity and well water. You can save money by boondocking if you don't need to plug in or use well water -- just add it as an extra.
Please fill your tanks with potable water and/or bring drinking water. Our well water is very hard so we filter.
No black water disposal. There are no toilets, laundry, or other amenities. We currently do not have garbage disposal, but will again soon.
No smoking or fires allowed. No exceptions. This is a high risk fire area.
No leaking vehicles. A $400 fee to cleanup any vehicle leaks. No working on vehicles on the property.

Just 15 minutes from restaurants, climb 700 feet up a mountainous access road in only 1.5 miles to a secluded Mountainous farm camping experience on a Regenerative Organic Avocado and Citrus grove, 501c3 Animal sanctuary and views of the city lights at night. The farm has over 700 avocados trees, citrus and nut trees. With pigs, chickens, ducks, geese and plenty of wildlife including: hawks, Owls, bunnies and more which all contribute to Regenerative Organic farming and offer viewing pleasure. The local area provides hiking, wildlife, mountain biking, lakes and 35 minutes to the nearest wine tasting in Temecula. We are an hour from the beach and roughly an hour and half to Skiing and Snowboarding at Mt. High. Minutes away from Santa Rosa Plateau for hiking. You are also a 15-30 minute drive to explore the amenities of the local cities, wine country and 45 minutes to the beach. The 21 acre property provides amazing views as well as biking and hiking along the local fire and farm roads. We offer Camping supplies such as tents or chairs if needed for a small rental fee as well as the ability to purchase fresh avocados, citrus or Farm fresh eggs from the grove. Get away for a short trip for a relaxing destress weekend. Loved our weekend staycation here! Abby was so communicative and helpful leading up to the trip and get around the area (due to dirt roads, etc). The home was the perfect size for us (two humans and a pup) and was so cozy.

This was my second time staying at this Hipcamp site and it has had so many upgrades since my first visit. The dome is INCREDIBLE and the entire location is so thoughtfully put together. My partner and I had such a relaxing stay. Anita was a spectacular host, she answered any of our questions very quickly and was clear on instructions. I can’t wait to book again in the future. 100% would recommend to anyone considering booking.

6 nights at The Nook
The Nook was the perfect place to honeymoon for two people who wanted to have peace, nature, and privacy. We arrived during a storm and would not have made it to the property if we hadn’t had four wheel drive, no doubt. It’s just remote enough - we could still drive into town easily but were surrounded by woods and wildlife. It had everything we needed and more, and our stay was perfect.

Great stay at Skyline Mountain! The host was super friendly, communicative, and flexible, which made everything easy from start to finish.
The space was perfect for our group of 11 — tons of room to spread out, plenty of parking, and very well set up. Clean porta-potty, running water, string lights, tables, benches, and a bar platform were all ready when we arrived. The amphitheater stage was a highlight and a great place to hang out and enjoy the views.
Would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it for group camping.

We loved staying at Anita’s land! It was wonderfully secluded, and I loved being able to let my dog run around off-leash without worrying about bothering anyone. The dome was very comfortable, and the décor was absolutely adorable. I especially appreciated having an electric kettle in the dome so I didn’t have to go outside at night just to boil water for tea.
Although it was cloudy and we couldn’t see the stars, we still enjoyed a beautiful view of the city lights. As a solo traveler, I was a little concerned about safety at first, but my hyper-vigilant dog and the security cameras helped me feel much more at ease. Anita’s directions and instructions were clear and detailed, and I had no trouble finding the place. We’ll definitely be back!
