While staying at Red Wing Ranch you will have the opportunity to walk on a section of the original stagecoach road, canoe in our private pond, watch the sunset over the Pacific ocean, and star gaze from what feels like a private planetarium. This is perfect for artists, writers, yogis, and those seeking the tranquility of off grid living. We have 40 acres of land with beautiful hiking in every direction. Our campsites have a fire pit, picnic table, and access to an outdoor shower and outdoor kitchen!
The accommodation includes staying in a 850 square foot wooden yurt with bamboo floors. The building has a wooden stove and propane wall heat. We also have a fridge, stove for cooking and propane wall heater inside the yurt. There is a futon that sleeps 2 plus a kids size bed, but please bring sleeping bags or bedding. You can also put up two tents next to the yurt for more sleeping.
We have now added also an attached kitchen and bathroom to the yurt so we have an indoor shower and full kitchen!
There is a detached bathroom with a maintenance free composting toilet and simple outdoor kitchen. You will have access to cooking utensils and cookware, camp stove, and fire pit. There is a solar system so you have access to electricity and wifi.
The drive from Willits is 25 minutes, with only the last 5 minutes on a dirt road. You can do the drive in any car, unless the occasional snowy conditions. There is plenty of parking next to the yurt for easy unpacking.. To access the coast you do have to go back through Willits and use highway 20.

The coastal bike and hike trails are many. From South of Ft Bragg to the Sand Dunes near Ward Ave. you can travel over 7 miles one way and go down to quiet little beach coves along the way.
Meadow Farm is a nonprofit 501c3 with goals of coastal food security, disaster preparation and sheltering, carbon sequestering and forest restoration. We offer native plant tours on or off site with advance notice.
We like our dog companions! Two McNab collies, Moxie and Shama live here and may bark at first...still very friendly and social with people and other dogs.. There are several dog friendly off-leash areas such as, Noyo North Harbor Beach, Seaside Beach and dog parks in both Ft Bragg and Mendocino. Our farm is dog friendly tho we wish pets to be kept close, must be neutered and friendly to other dogs and people. Please be sure to bury or bag the waste.
Speaking of waste, Meadow Farm strives to reduce waste by avoiding plastic as much as possible, recycling what we can and composting our veggie scraps.
Please bring your own waste receptacles and take them along when you go. We take ours to the Caspar Transfer Station which is open Saturday through Wednesday... the location and hours can be found online.
Our water is from a deep well and we periodically test it for bacteria. It is cold and delicious. Our irrigation pipes that have spigots and hoses at each camp are safe for drinking, cooking and cleaning
Our solar pump moves water into storage tanks that provide all the water to the farm. It is very important that the water valves on your camp spigot is turned off (gently please) to avoid losing 2500 gallons of water in a short time.
If you see a leak or break in a line please contact us immediately. There are also water shut offs for the camps on the west side of the Farm House if you are unable to reach us right away..
When doing dishes we request that you use the strainer to catch food particles from the dish water and toss them in your trash or compost bucket. If you have vegetable waste let us know and we can pick them up for adding to the worm bins or composting piles. We make worm "tea" fertilizer and rich soil from these offerings. No animal products or oil please... a few egg shells are okay.
We do have the usual wildlife though we haven't had problems with them. Ravens will raid your camp if food or bags are left out while you are away.
From dusk to dawn keep children and pets close. We coexist well here with the critters...and glad to have them.

The Cozy Cabin is tiny and adorable - one of those rare properties that is actually exactly as described in its listing. We brought our dog and had a lovely stay. The bed is very comfortable, the cabin is well insulated, well spaced from other dwellings and campsites, the land around it is beautiful, and there are lots of stars to see on a clear night.
Only noteworthy flaw was upon arrival: it was pretty tough to find our way in the dark. Arrive in the daylight if possible until they add clearer night-reflective signage and/or a detailed campsite map!

4 nights at Pine Grove Cobb Resort
What a magical place for my husband and I to celebrate my birthday and Labor Day weekend. We are already making plans to return! Definitely recommend! We loved that we were assigned our own newly renovated bathroom where we could store our belongings/toiletries since it is a bit of a walk. Word of warning, if you’re someone that goes pee in the middle of the night, using the great outdoors is something you will have to do if you don’t feel like walking the five minutes through the dark woods to go down to the main campground. In the evening/night there’s total privacy to do so.
The creek was amazing and refreshing. I’m 5’7 and at certain points, the water came up to my thighs. We were impressed since we thought it was going to be a little stream. The ambient noise of the coursing creek was my favorite thing. We enjoyed the spring fed pool and we enjoyed being able to take a shower every night. We made pizzas in the pizza oven that turned out great thanks to Joe’s helpful tips. Joe was great, he gave us a basic tour showing us the bathrooms/where to get potable water, and where to park. He allowed us to explore the nuances of the campground on our own, while staying available and responsive. I might leave a second review just for helpful tips since that’s what we were looking for when we were booking this place! Thanks Joe and see you next time! :) -M&W

Second time staying here and love it. Super easy to find and feels isolated enough while being close to town and beaches. Having a warm private shower is super nice and a site that’s pretty private from the rest. Only thing I will say and this might be just during summer you can hear the skunk train whistle late thru the night and early morning. Didn’t bother me but if you’re a light sleeper you might get woken up. Will definitely be back again.

200% would stay again! So quiet and peaceful! Rustic but with every need met. Jo’s cabin was warm and comfortable with hooks galore. Potable running water in an outside sink with a large counter top attached, 2 picnic tables with umbrellas, 2 composting toilets, AND an outdoor but enclosed hot shower. No crowds, noise, or nuisance to deal with.

I stayed at Jo’s Cabin with my two teenage sons. The took the cabin and I slept on a cot outside. It was lovely. The two picnic tables and sink/dishwashing/food prep station made camp cooking so much easier! The showers were hot and the compostable toilets easy, clean and no-smell. Sojourna was so kind and knowledgeable. We took advantage of the forest walk and the garden tour. We learned lot about how they are nurturing the 2nd growth redwood forest and using sustainable garden techniques on the farm. The spot was very peaceful and quiet. We would definitely go back!

Married couple, 5 yr old LOVED this place, adorable cabin, loved the back patio with the awesome outdoor shower. The birds in the morning and the sound of the rushing stream was wonderful, Joe was so friendly and supplied us with charcoal and eggs!
As the previous comment mentioned, there are homes and other cabins - but you still feel like you have your own space in this place. I thought it was very clean for being in the middle of the woods and I would love to come back! (:

We stayed for 2 nights in a tent — and it was amazing! The tent itself is super cozy and well-designed: stylish furniture, beautiful decor, and everything you might need — a small fridge, kettle, mugs, coffee, sugar. Very thoughtful! The beds were comfortable, the linens were clean — I slept like at home. There’s also a fan for hot days and a heater for chilly nights. The deck has comfy chairs to relax in.
The pools were clean, the water was great, and there were plenty of floaties for both kids and adults. There’s a small café on-site where you can grab a bite, some water, or ice cream (prices aren’t the cheapest, but it’s great to have it nearby).
The host greeted us, showed us around, and explained everything. We had our own private shower and toilet — everything was clean, nicely designed, and towels were provided (more than enough!).
The property is large and well-maintained. There’s a pizza oven on-site, which was a real highlight — we even learned how to make pizza in it!
The only downsides: there’s a road nearby and you can hear cars passing by (not too loud, but noticeable). Also, there are cabins on both sides of the tent — they were empty during our stay, but if they were occupied, it would feel a bit too close for my comfort.
Overall, it’s a great, peaceful, and stylish place to stay. We really enjoyed it!

Weekend Trip to Meadow Farm & Forest
We really enjoyed our stay! The grounds are beautiful & peaceful, and we slept better than we have in a while :)
We were unsure about camping or the Cozy Cabin but in the end we were happy to have chosen the cabin. It's cozy as described, the mattress is comfortable, and the amenities are very nice to have. Would definitely stay again!
One small word of warning: be prepared for your car to get dusty! The paths you ride on to get to the cabin kick up a lot of dust even when driving slow. This wasn't an issue for us at all, but for those who like their cars to be pristine, be prepared!

My family enjoyed our stay at Jo's meadow. We pitched our tent outside the cabin and two of us slept in the tent and two in the cabin. The bed was comfortable and we were cozy. Sojourna accommodated a special request and answered all of my questions. I really appreciated how helpful she was. The farm is a quiet peaceful spot (with amazing stars, too!).

Jo's cabin was private, lush and convenient. The cabin was cute and had a double bed with a closet and chairs. The outside area was like a meadow with two picnic tables and a counter/sink with running water. Our dog got to sniff around and we only heard cars driving by a couple of times. We could hear the skunk train horn from the cabin, but it was pretty charming, not too loud. It was a very luxurious car camping experience. The compostable toilet was a short path away on an open air platform, worked smoothly for us! The shower was in an enclosed outhouse in the trees and heated up quickly, twinkle lights made it cute! The cabin was about a five minute drive from fort bragg. It was so lovely to explore the coast in such a beautiful part of California with the conveniences of running water and a place to store our gear. The weather was lovely but if it had been raining it would have been totally okay! Thanks for the stay!

Weekend Trip to Ocean-view Redwood Forest Glamping
We had an unforgettable stay at Ocean View Redwood Forest! We spent three nights in the Redwood cabin and felt so cozy and at home the entire time. The location is perfect—tucked between the ocean and the majestic redwoods—making it easy to explore both. We loved discovering the surrounding area and are already looking forward to coming back and trying another one of the cabins on the property. Ben, the host, was welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Truly one of the best weekends we’ve had!

Ben and Grace are excellent hosts. The accommodations are what is expected for a cabin experience in the woods.
Outdoor lighting, fire pit, propane heater and more are included.
